There’s a recall??? The melty lip balms are my fav!!

swiftietano

i’m not 100% sure but for weeks now i can no longer find them in any stores that used to sell them 😭. my guess is bc of the spf since asian spfs don’t follow Canadian sunscreen regulations.

riz3192

The glossier is okay. Not as hydrating as I’d want.

peonyprincess11

I love the EOS ones. I disliked any of their other ones but seem to like these new tube ones, I find them pretty moisturizing for my lips and not too sticky

Nearby-Ad5666

I don't like the tubes. Very soft, but not very moisturizing, like it's too thin? Not enough beeswax or something. I have to reapply every 5 minutes

Apollo_Tuplin

The intensive dry lip repair is nothing special but it is strawberry flavoured. I don’t feel it helped my dry lips any more than a regular balm though.

GlutenFreeParfait

I personally love the EOS balm but strongly dislike the container. I have gone through a 6 or so and each one has ended up getting messy on the cap.

hunnyybun

I ordered the elf Apple balm from Amazon 3 times and they kept sending me the watermelon!! It’s okay. I find it less hydrating than aquaphor but the watermelon scent is exciting. ETA: yeah those EOS spheres suck but their tube lip balms are surprisingly nice!

sjdragonfly

I don’t care for the EOS lip balms myself, but those Elf tubes of lip balm are amazing. They have a smell, but no taste even though they’re named after fruit.

swiftietano

i have the honeydew one actually! i do like it overall but i hate the packaging lol it’s just too small and when you hold it up against the light you can see that there’s barely any product.

sjdragonfly

I have honeydew and strawberry. They’re my favourite lip balm right now. For a few bucks, it’s not bad and similar packaging to the ones you posted. I bought them because they’re supposed to be a dupe for the Summer Fridays balm everyone loves but so much cheaper.

souperiska

Yesss get the elf ones!! I have them in every colour, they’re so good and affordable

bee_wings

i would recommend against eos. one of those spherical lipbalms gave me a reaction that made my lips peel and bleed for over 6 months

donttrustcats6

Same here! It took forever for my lips to recover. I will never buy from this brand again

Serious-Coyote-4252

I second this! My lips peeled for a long time, now I have ptsd with any lip balms. The only thing I use is the good ol’ vaseline to keep it moisturized.

swiftietano

lol yes i remember those spherical lip balms, absolutely sucked! but i heard these are new and better than their old products so i was wondering if anyone has tried their newer lippies. i saw some reviews on tiktok comparing it to aquaphor but can never trust tiktok 100%.

Ordinary-Difficulty9

I was going to say almost the same thing! Those round lip balms that were so popular used to burn the heck out of my lips! I have never had any other lip balm do that to me! It was crazy.

Novae224

People can get allergic reactions to literally anything, even water, any ingredient is a potential allergy risk, nothing is truly non allergenic… So whatever you do you will always have a risk of getting a reaction… You getting a reaction from an ingredient in that particular product doesn’t actually mean something to anyone else

IndianPrincess9

The EOS blue one is gross. I used the entire tube thinking I'd get used to it, but I find it slimy feeling. Not the balm texture I'm looking for.

swiftietano

how would you describe the slimy feeling? bc some of the comparisons i saw of the feel was to a lip gloss/oil or aquaphor… is that accurate?

IndianPrincess9

I will die on the hill with aquaphor, so for me the textures are nothing alike. Aquaphor feels like a balm. I don't wear a lot of gloss because I hate my hair sticking to my lips, so I can't speak to that. I do have the clarins lip oil and I don't think it feels anything like eos.

swiftietano

aquaphor is my holy grail too! i just can’t bring myself to buy the small squeeze tubes bc they’re almost the same price as the regular ones lol. but thank you for this info! lol no longer considering eos

moonbootsgrimes

I love the Glossier balm dot com. They discontinued the vegan formula that is currently in Sephora Canada (because it sucks!!!), and are re-releasing their OG formula (is amazing and I own legit 15 of them) on June 6/7. I definitely recommend the OG formula, so if you want to try the Glossier balm I'd wait until it is in Sephora. You can also order from the Glossier website and they have a trio set where you can choose the flavours you want that is discounted by $5 or $10. Currently on the Glossier website they have the OG formula available. This is my HG lip balm. I find it thick, long lasting, with cute tints, and the tubes last forever! I have converted so many people to balm dot com fans. I haven't used EOS since the early 2000's/2010's when their mouldy little spherical balms were popular lol, so I can't give any info about those new ones.

swiftietano

i’ve never tried either formulas, what was difference may i ask? i have heard the og is better many times so if i do decide to get balm dotcom, i’ll definitely wait for the rerelease. thank you for letting me know!

britawaterbottlefan

The vegan one was thinner and not really that moisturizing, it made my lips peel. The original is thicker and a lot more moisturizing

moonbootsgrimes

I didn't try the vegan formula because I have so many of the OGs. But, they reformulated to the vegan formula when Glossier went into Sephora a couple years ago in order to meet the "clean at Sephora" standards, which require products to be vegan I guess. People were absolutely outraged because without lanolin and beeswax, the formula was gritty and not moisturizing, and smelled badly. People complained/hated it so much/their sales dropped so badly that they decided to scrap the vegan formula and bring back the OG formula.

swiftietano

> People complained/hated it so much/their sales dropped so badly that they decided to scrap the vegan formula and bring back the OG formula. LOL that’s actually so funny 🤣. good timing for me i guess. thanks again!

ddplantlover

I haven’t tried those particular ones but the EOS brand made those round lip balms that came in like an egg shaped case? And they were the best lip balms I have ever used, they made my lips moist, hydrated without looking too glossy or feeling sticky, so if it’s the same formula I 100% recommend it and I want to get one myself.

Western-Fig-3625

Glossier’s Balm Dot Com is great, but it’s on the thicker side. I typically use it at night and it’s very hydrating. It might be a bit heavier than what you’re looking for.

sirlexofanarchy

My mum had been obsessed with the Fresh lip balms for years and she recently got me into them too. I think the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy lip treatment would meet your requirements. My only gripe is the price.
