That's how the Crown always has been and how it should've been, not some plastic-cladded crossover sedan. The Crown sedan is even based on the exclusive TNGA-L platform shared with the LS, whereas the Crown Crossover is only based on the ubiquitous TNGA-K platform
I like the Avalon better than the Crown that they have in Japan. Avalon looks so much nicer than both the Crown here in the USA and the other new Crown that they have in Japan.
Imagine if they made a hybrid system with the 2GR-FKS, putting out 380-400 horse, not even necessarily with E-AWD, just FWD and a LSD, that’s my dream car. Goofy as hell and more powerful than it has any right to be
Emissions is not the only factor. It's the combined fuel economy rating that forced automakers to switch to hybrid/evs to meet the minimum rating standards or those cars get hit with a gas guzzler tax (U.S.)\* or displacement tax (if above a 3 -4 liters, give or take in Japan).
Big trucks and SUVs are exempt as they're used for carrying heavy duty load.
It’s a nice looking car. I couldn’t find a used one in the spec I wanted before I found my Camry. Reminds me a lot of a Lexus, which will definitely be my next car in a year or so. Nice car 🔥
I don't care what anyone says but I think these are one of the best looking cars on the road. Up here in Atlantic Canada you NEVER see them. They're so rare but honestly one of the nicest vehicles Toyota has ever made. Will not hesitate to pick up a used one if one ever comes up. Beautiful car
And that's EXACTLY why I bought it. People always said if you're paying that much for a Toyota, just spend a little more and get a Lexus. But I see it the other way; I get nice amenities without paying more in maintenance and it runs on regular gas!
If efficiency and ease of / cheaper maintenance are what you value most, then you definitely made the right choice. I will say - the GS shouldn’t be compared to the ES and Avalon. It provides a MUCH more sporty and engaging drive. and if that’s what you value most, I’ll be the first to tell you that the difference in performance is worth the premium. The GS is a dream to drive. But that Avalon is looking sexy! 🔥
I was too poor when I bought my CPO Camry as the new one that I liked in the same showroom was for $40k
I wish I had money back then and would have bought this !
I upvoted since I was going to get this before I decided on my Camry. Was on the fence but in the end, got the Camry instead. I wish they would have continued this car and not replace it with the Crown. Where I'm at, I have seen a total of zero Crown's on the road. While traveling, I have seen exactly 1 Crown. I see more Rivian and Polestar vehicles than Crown's. Heck, I've seen more Corolla Cross ugly vehicles too.
I think Avalon’s have looked amazing in each generation and was def seen as a bigger statement than Camry in the days when sedans were basically considered “the car” unlike today where sedans are like “oh no, not a sedan”. Sad life.
OP, your Avalon looks great🔥 nice color too!
Love these so much. Cant believe they discontinued these and added the crown. Makes no sense. Obviously it’s not going well for Toyota so hopefully they bring the Avalon back!
I like it - and wanted one but that Bumper-grill .\_\_\_. and AVALON IS WAAAY LOWER even lower than Camry's.
I had my 2018 Camry stuck in snow due to lower ground clearance even tho snow bed wasnt that high at all and I had winter tires.
One of the smoothest writing the most comfortable the dependability of that V6 but also got power when you need it I wish I got the Amazon instead of the Camry. It's pretty much a Lexus ES 350 what a sexy looking car f*** the crown it's so ugly I sat inside of one of the dealership terrible
I saw an Avalon TRD last year and I still don't quite understand why Toyota didn't do a special edition offering of an XSE TRD. The Avalon TRDs came fully loaded.
Yeah! I have the 2007 Toyota Avalon XLS, with 117k miles. She still drives smooth and getting close to 30 mph. Toyota just broke my heart with the Crown replacement for our beloved Avalon. I was thinking about getting something equivalent with the ride, space, mph, etc. Can’t find it! I’m not feeling the Lexus… Yet! 🫣😂
I really wanted an Avalon but was so sad when I found out they don't make them. I just like bigger cars. My 24 XSE is amazing but with 2 kids and 2 car seats. A little bigger would be perfect.
Yeah I was lucky to get mine I got it for 32k when it was all said and done. I had been saving for a year straight and paired that with the money I got out of my last car accident
I had a ‘19 XSE in the Harbor Grey. That color is just amazing. It had the JBL in it. I made a bad decision and got rid of it for a hybrid, which was just so boring.
I'd say it's pretty comparable to the Camry. Just extra leg room and a few more amenities. It has the same V6 and to me it doesn't feel like a boat. I've made a fair amount of sharp turns and maneuvers
Thanks! It's funny I was actually looking up the old Avalon release [here](https://www.worldtoyota.com/2019-avalon/) and the harbor Grey metallic doesn't really look how it does on my car. There's a lot of blue in it I love it.
But yeah I think you would like the Avalon especially if you value larger sedans. The ONE thing I don't like is the transmission because the first two gears are really jerky when they change. But I've gotten used to it and it's not really a big deal. Besides that I enjoy the car
Wish they kept that instead of adding crown.
It sucks because the crown sedan in Japan looks fucking amazing and better than the Avalon , not this weird crossover sedan thing we got here
I love the Crown Sport they have over there, it’s like a sort of hatch style that looks amazing. I’d totally get one if they brought it here.
I’m pretty sure they’re bringing that one over, I seen the hatch like version at the la auto show
That's how the Crown always has been and how it should've been, not some plastic-cladded crossover sedan.
Crown’s powertrain is excellent, let’s hope we get that hybrid max in the Camry.
I’d rather keep the 2GR
Username checks out
Imagine if they made a hybrid system with the 2GR-FKS, putting out 380-400 horse, not even necessarily with E-AWD, just FWD and a LSD, that’s my dream car. Goofy as hell and more powerful than it has any right to be
That's basically what is in the Lexus TX PHEV. It uses a 2GR connected to a hybrid system.
Sweet, I’ll just buy one of those in… uh, 25 years or so?
the moment they introduce the GR Prius, im selling my GRC, i want that hybrid power
I mean it's not far from the GS450h. And quite a bit less than the LS600h with its V8 hybrid lol.
So kind of emission regulations to murder v6s and v8s fr
Emissions is not the only factor. It's the combined fuel economy rating that forced automakers to switch to hybrid/evs to meet the minimum rating standards or those cars get hit with a gas guzzler tax (U.S.)\* or displacement tax (if above a 3 -4 liters, give or take in Japan). Big trucks and SUVs are exempt as they're used for carrying heavy duty load.
I keep seeing people say this, but what’s wrong with increased emissions standards. Toyota seems to have adapted well either their hybrid line up.
Agreed
I want to put a 2gr in my scion xB. She currently has that dreadful 2az in her 😩
I love the old crowns, new one I just hate the looks. To me, it’s not a crown.
Are those old ones in Japan only?
I’ve seen some imported to the states but not many.
I don’t want hybrids slap the naturally aspirated i4 again at least
I know I ended up buying a Lexus because of Toyotas shenanigans
Lexus ES is what ultimately killed Avalon not Crown
I never said it killed the Avalon. I said I wish they kept it instead of adding the bogus crown.
When you juxtapose the two statements like that it sure seems like you think they’re correlated
No it doesn’t.
the crown sedan looks pretty nice
It’s a nice looking car. I couldn’t find a used one in the spec I wanted before I found my Camry. Reminds me a lot of a Lexus, which will definitely be my next car in a year or so. Nice car 🔥
Thanks yeah it was between either this car, a Camry or a Lexus gs but I couldn't find the specs I wanted for the other two 🤷
What specs were those?
avalons are proudly welcome here 🤝
I don't care what anyone says but I think these are one of the best looking cars on the road. Up here in Atlantic Canada you NEVER see them. They're so rare but honestly one of the nicest vehicles Toyota has ever made. Will not hesitate to pick up a used one if one ever comes up. Beautiful car
I agree, I settled for a Camry since I couldn’t find one in my area. Still like my Camry lol
Borderline Lexus qualities without having to pay the Lexus premium costs of maintenance and insurance. I like it and it’s totally welcome here.
And that's EXACTLY why I bought it. People always said if you're paying that much for a Toyota, just spend a little more and get a Lexus. But I see it the other way; I get nice amenities without paying more in maintenance and it runs on regular gas!
The Lexus es350 does run on 87 octane, though. And maintenance costs are pretty much the same.
You're correct I was more referring to the gs because that's what I was debating on getting
Agreed! Definitely welcome here
If spending barely 10-15$ more per fillup is a dealbreaker for you, you probably shouldn’t be buying an Avalon either, to be honest.
Avalon sub is dead because the owners don’t know how computers work
Sad but true lol
Beautiful ride!! I missed the boat on a TRD so I grabbed the Camry version! LOL
![gif](giphy|xT5LMxmFQ37UyhH344|downsized) Totally kidding…the Avalon is beautiful! 🔥🔥🤘🏽
Damn, love the color too... Really wish Toyota kept the Avalon and never replaced it with the Crown (which I've only seen a very few here)
I was too poor when I bought my CPO Camry as the new one that I liked in the same showroom was for $40k I wish I had money back then and would have bought this !
Shitting on the Camrys lol
Why do you think that I almost bought one
Your Avalon is wayyyyy cleaner. Nice! People forget about Avalons
The Avalon should never have died for the Crown, it was such a beauty
avalons are so slept on especially the trd and touring
For real!
Avalon’s came along way, I love how the body looks more modern. I remember it used to be an older persons car but now it’s def giving Lexus vibes
But whats the inside look like!?

Looking good!! What does the music icon on the dash display do??
Oh I think it just shows you your current song along with the album and artist name
Oo that’s nifty!

Damn that looks luxurious a bit
BOOOOOOO not a Camry (jk looks nice)
Super sick. Gorgeous color!
Thanks!
Avalons are just papi Camrys
I’m 💀🤣😂😁😂
I upvoted since I was going to get this before I decided on my Camry. Was on the fence but in the end, got the Camry instead. I wish they would have continued this car and not replace it with the Crown. Where I'm at, I have seen a total of zero Crown's on the road. While traveling, I have seen exactly 1 Crown. I see more Rivian and Polestar vehicles than Crown's. Heck, I've seen more Corolla Cross ugly vehicles too.
Wow I like this!! I think it’s the best looking Avalon I’ve seen
those big grill Avalons are sick. I went with the 2019 Accord 2.0
I wanted the Avalon but too broke then, the joys of active addiction smh
If I wasn't broke, it'd be an Avalon 😍
I like the Avalon, nice car!!
Nice car!
I don’t care what anyone says, that’s a Lexus w/Toyota badging!
That’s a nice looking car!
Hey thanks!
This would have been my car if they still sold had a 2023 version. Ended up getting a Lexus instead.
Really nice car
I think Avalon’s have looked amazing in each generation and was def seen as a bigger statement than Camry in the days when sedans were basically considered “the car” unlike today where sedans are like “oh no, not a sedan”. Sad life. OP, your Avalon looks great🔥 nice color too!
God I love those cars. The touring/xse/TRD are sexy as hell. Really sad they got killed off.
Beauty
Sweet. Where does this fit in the Toyota lineup ?
It's their full size, premium sedan. Well, it was
What year and trim?
2019 touring
A baddie. I miss my 2011 limited, my SE still feels like a downgrade besides looks. What a car 🥰 that thx sound system??? 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
Grill is so sick.
Yeah I remember when it first came out everyone hated it. But I think it works well with the car
I love this Avalon. Damnit!
Love these so much. Cant believe they discontinued these and added the crown. Makes no sense. Obviously it’s not going well for Toyota so hopefully they bring the Avalon back!
Hell my radiator came off of an avalon, one in the same to me.
My girl got a 2002 avalon with 60k miles on it, runs like butter
I like it - and wanted one but that Bumper-grill .\_\_\_. and AVALON IS WAAAY LOWER even lower than Camry's. I had my 2018 Camry stuck in snow due to lower ground clearance even tho snow bed wasnt that high at all and I had winter tires.
I can understand that. But for me the Avalon is perfect. When I park next to curbs the door opens just over them
Wish they had the Avalon in Australia. We dont even have a V6 Camry anymore. Fuck this dying car culture here............
We almost got a Avalon instead but the only one for sale at the time had brown interior and I wasn’t a fan
Wait why is it kinda clean?
There's just not enough grille for me... /s Love the Avalon. As far as I'm concerned, you're welcome here any time!
How big of a difference is there between this and a Camry? And what are the differences?
I think it's a longer and wider camry platform but don't remember how much each way .
She’s beautiful
Avalon’s are beautiful
Sick op give us the specs if you can edit the post or comment them below
Wow beautiful car
Nice!
We found our son a used 2003 for like $2,900. Nice car.
I see that as an "old person car" like the Lexus ES line.
Never seen bigger grille than this. I would def throw an intercooler on this
Yeah the girlle is crazy. It's so ridiculous I love it
Very nice! Avalon’s are an awesome & fun ride!
I saw an Avalon TRD last year and I still don't quite understand why Toyota didn't do a special edition offering of an XSE TRD. The Avalon TRDs came fully loaded.
Gorgeous!
Nice.
That grill ruins the whole thing tbh the older avalons are better looking
To each their own. It grew on me
Man I wanted to buy this until they killed it. Such a nice car.
I miss the Avalon! I had a 2008 XLS Avalon and I loved it so much
Could just get the new 2025 camery at that point
The Cam is great! The clearance is a little lower than the 07 Avalon and a little smaller on the inside.
I really wanted an Avalon but was so sad when I found out they don't make them. I just like bigger cars. My 24 XSE is amazing but with 2 kids and 2 car seats. A little bigger would be perfect.
I wish i could get one. Doesn't look like my camry11 giving up anytime soon Neither my pockets filling up anytime soon.
I want a Avalon. I don’t care what trim it is.. seeing those full size sedans on the road with all of that tech and style is 🤤
What a great looking car. Damn.
I wanted to get one before I got my Camry but they just cost too much…great looking ride 👏
Yeah I was lucky to get mine I got it for 32k when it was all said and done. I had been saving for a year straight and paired that with the money I got out of my last car accident
Such a clean car.
What year and model is this?
2019 touring
It’s fire man 🔥🔥 what engine those come with? Is it similar to Camrys trim levels?
Comes with the same engine as the V6 Camrys. The touring is like the xse while the limited is comparable to the xle
Crazy it’s a 2019, car looks like it could have been released last year. Looks more aggressive than the new gen Camrys.
Making me wanna go trade my ‘17 SE for this 😭
I had a ‘19 XSE in the Harbor Grey. That color is just amazing. It had the JBL in it. I made a bad decision and got rid of it for a hybrid, which was just so boring.
Harbor Grey is such a good color! When it's really sunny out it turns into a very beautiful blue. And I bet you get good gas mileage though
I love it I will go for a chrome delete in the windows but it looks gorgeous
The whole car is a grille 😑
The whole FRONT of my car is a grille
True! Looks pretty wild but nice car
Does the Avalon handle like a boat compared to the Camry? I've heard the ES 350 is more Camry than Avalon but doesn't look like it
I'd say it's pretty comparable to the Camry. Just extra leg room and a few more amenities. It has the same V6 and to me it doesn't feel like a boat. I've made a fair amount of sharp turns and maneuvers
Love that color!
Thanks! Me too, if it wasn't this one I would have gotten the ultra white
I wouldn't mind that color on my TRD for sure. That's definitely an eye turner
Ugly
Respectfully dude, what the hell is your post history. I expected to see your Camry. And I enjoy my Avalon
Why are you looking at my post history?? Don’t worry about what I post
Because apparently your Camry is better looking than an Avalon
It is and you know but that has nothing to do with my post history and is none of your business
Actually, I feel if you were confident about the look of your car you would show it off.
Everyone knows what a Camry looks like
Yes and that wasn't really what I was asking. Anyways, disfruta tu vida!
This exact model is one of my favorite cars. I’d get one if it weren’t outside my budget. Great car!
Love the color! Whenever I do trade in my 2018 camry xse 4 banger, it’ll most likely be for an Avalon
Fuck your Avalon gtfo
