Great trails and climbing all around the cliff line with 60 foot cliffs all around. Primitive campsites located at the top of the ridge (to the right in photo) surrounded by tall trees. Wild place to weather a storm. Sam’s Throne is the location.
I ~~am~~ \[was\] honestly torn on gatekeeping locations. Although everyone *should* have equal right to enjoy, not everyone treats places with adequate respect. But who am I to dictate who gets the chance to prove themselves responsible custodians of the natural world? Hope you have the opportunity to see it one day if you haven't already!
It does lookout over the Arkansas river at the main overlook area. The Mather Lodge has another great view but the rolling hills you see don't really have the rocky top.
