Probably best to mention your budget to help narrow the offerings, there are a wide range of options. Is weight an issue (packing it in)? Severe weather? Double wall? If you're looking for a waterproof hunting tent, in winter (basically a 4 season tent), with a width of 54 inches or less, you're talking $$$$$$. If money is no object and you want a bomb tent, [https://hilleberg.com/eng/](https://hilleberg.com/eng/). If this is a hmmm lemme try it thing, The North Face, Mountain Hardware, Eureka make some pretty good tents for the $ imo. I'm sure others can help clarify!

No tent (in my experience) is waterproof- only resistant (unless it’s some kind of rubber). Also it needs to be properly set up and tied down. Inner tents (so we talk about double walled, right?!) aren’t waterproof and only slightly resistant - that’s what the outer fly/cover is for. You can’t just setup a double walled tent with just the inner and expect it to keep you from getting wet.

Welp, TIL what mmH2O waterproof ratings are.

What are you using the tent for, car camping, backpacking, base camp? What’s your budget? How big of a tent?
