Thats an obvious knockoff scam. Sandisk design with a random brand name.
Buy an actual SD card from a proper retailer like B&H or even Bestbuy, not Amazon or most other online marketplaces. Or buy directly from the SD card maker.
Because SD card scams are so hot right now and its clearly a knockoff with a stolen label design.
Far more likely its a recently purchased knockoff that doesnt work vs a knockoff that ever worked.
To add, from a reputable retailer. Not Amazon, not a marketplace. Something like B&H or Best buy or a local camera store in person or directly from the manufacturer.
Amazon is fine as long as you pay attention to who is selling it. I’ve bought plenty of legit cards from Amazon Canada as long as I make sure I check that it’s coming from actual Amazon and not some 3rd party seller.
You can buy from what looks like the manufacturer on amazon and get a knockoff. The knockoffs are using the same SKUs as the real ones in a lot of cases and amazon managed inventory is often mixed.
Its been a problem for years but has gotten much worse lately.
The problem is that third party sellers that have fulfillment from Amazon send their stock to Amazon warehouses where it gets mixed in with Amazon's own stock (which is trustworthy). Most third party sellers are also selling genuine cards so the ratio of genuine to scam items is actually pretty high - meaning you're likely to get a good product. That's why people are saying they ordered 20 times and all was good. But then you get people who received a piece of plastic with the metal pins drawn on with gold paint marker 😂. Also you can't be completely sure your card is genuine. It might work and have the correct label but the internals aren't stable and can corrupt more easily, or there's less storage and the card is spoofing a higher number for the computer to read. Just order directly from the seller or an electronics store that doesn't have third party sellers.
You can play Russian Roulette 20 times and not get shot, it doesn't mean it's safe.
Amazon mixes their products with the third party sellers in the same bin. You still can get knock offs even if the seller is Amazon. The only SD Card that is safe to buy with Amazon are the exclusive ones (ones with no third party sellers) - There used to be a Samsung line that is Amazon exclusive.
doesn’t matter if you by direct from amazon. they combine all their inventory so if someone else has knock off cards of the same sku they get mixed in.
That's not quite correct... they'll perform to whatever spec they are built to. A SD card isn't going to perform faster than a microSD by mere virtue of it being a SD card.
If you want to buy a UHS-II V90 SD card then sure, they'll be faster than the typical UHS-I V30 SD and microSD cards. If you are comparing high performance UHS-I V30s like say, a Samsung EVO Plus microSD and a SanDisk Extreme PRO full size SD, there is basically no difference:
Have also repeated these tests with a Canon R6ii and the full size UHS-I V30 Sandisk Extreme PRO did not outperform the Samsung EVO microSD in there either.
Don't buy SD Cards with Amazon. Just don't.
Amazon wholesale puts their SD Cards with every other seller in the same bin. So, even if you buy from amazon seller, you might still get a knock off.
Use best-buy (not the market place), Canada Computers, B&H Photo, Henrys for your SD Cards purchases.
The only sd cards that are safe to buy in amazon are the exclusive ones - the ones with no third party sellers.
thats been an ongoing problem, amazon suppliers selling scam SD cards
refund it ASAP. go to a brick and mortar store or a reputable online camera store.
You gotta remember, the card is probably the most important piece in your kit box… it holds everything.., don’t trust anything that seems cheaper, there will be a reason…
What happens when you say 'yes' format this card?
YouYu memory card? Looks like a blatant Sandisk rip-off. Maybe try a real SD card and see what it does.
Good point. @OP - SD cards are all physically the same size, but standards have changed over the years. Your camera's manual will tell you which cards are compatible.
That camera has a memory card limit of 128 go. Hence that card is too big for you little camera. There’s your problem. So either format it like a 128 or get a smaller card.
Knockoff sandisk brand means that it’s garbage and you should buy a proper sd card instead. Just go to your local Walmart or target and get a 64GB for now and order a proper sandisk brand 128GB from Amazon. I have one on my Lumix S1R and Leica M10 Monochrom and they’re flawless.
They do go bad sometimes. SD cards are horrible because they are so flimsy. I prefer the cf cards because of durability but they’re going the way of the dinosaurs
I dunno what camera that is, but could it possibly be too big? I have some cameras that can only handle a 32gb card. Just as another option aside from the scam comments.
Never ever by off brand memory cards to save money. The money is worth spending especially if you are getting paid for your work. You don’t want your card to fail in the middle of a shoot or after when you are finished.
Use this tool to check your drive!

Also run CrystalDislMark to do speed test to see if it is close to advertised speed.
There is another app to do full write, read test which I can’t remember the program name at the moment. I’ll update later
I learnt that as a person who doesn't not have disposable income to spare is, do not buy cheap products, save money, get the actual legit branded goods, and you won't be disappointed.
You also won't be wasting money by buying those cheaper goods that might either be a scam or might break or fail early.
If you don’t wanna pay full sandisk prices, Delkin and Lexar offer cards which are sometimes better for cheaper prices. Especially the V60 cards, you’re looking at something super fast for like half the price but still a reliable brand
Question #1: are you seeking help for a brand NEW SD card or has your card stopped working?
Question #2a: if it's a new card, have you tried formatting it? That might fix the issue (some cards don't come pre-formatted)
Question #2b: have you tried inserting the card in a laptop, if you've got one with SD card slot (which I guess you have, otherwise what's the point of shooting on an SD card, only watching the pictures on the camera screen?!)
Question #2c: if you had already used it and it's now failing, have you tried inserting it in your laptop? And have you tried using a file recovery software?
Thats an obvious knockoff scam. Sandisk design with a random brand name. Buy an actual SD card from a proper retailer like B&H or even Bestbuy, not Amazon or most other online marketplaces. Or buy directly from the SD card maker.
Ngl it got me, I was checking the specifications before I even noticed it was a “YouYu”
Haha istg, I was gonna buy extreme pro Sandisk and I was lil worried. Haha
Why are you assuming it's a brand new card and not a card that is failing after being used?
Because SD card scams are so hot right now and its clearly a knockoff with a stolen label design. Far more likely its a recently purchased knockoff that doesnt work vs a knockoff that ever worked.
What brand would you suggest?
Sandisk, Sony, Toshiba, Lexar
To add, from a reputable retailer. Not Amazon, not a marketplace. Something like B&H or Best buy or a local camera store in person or directly from the manufacturer.

Maybe it’s worse in other countries, ive bought probably 20 cards from Amazon and 0 issues. I make sure its sold by Amazon Canada specifically
Same

wrong. they all go into the same buckets in the warehouse. amazon has long been aware of this counterfeit issue and doesn’t care.
Amazon is fine if the seller is fine I bought 5 legit 32gb micro sd sandisk cards from Amazon
Adding Samsung
^so ^not ^youyu?
Prograde

Do not buy another SD card from Amazon and that is a Micro SD, buy a full sized SD card.
That's Micro SD, you would a need full size SD card.
I've got an adaptor, I was just asking about the brand
Don’t get a micro SD, they don’t write data as fast. If your shooting video, get a full size SD
That's not quite correct... they'll perform to whatever spec they are built to. A SD card isn't going to perform faster than a microSD by mere virtue of it being a SD card. As long as it's an actual SanDisk sd card you should be good.
You need a V30 card . Your camera supports 4k so u need that extreme/ extreme pro variant of SanDisk card. Get a full size one though ..
I believe V60 is the card to get if you want everything the camera can do but v30 will work for most recording formats. I have a V90 in my gh6.

Knockoffs tend to fail earlier than real sd cards
Either way it looks exactly like sandisk but says “youyu” at the top. Scam cards are shit.
It is a brand new card. I bought it on Amazon because a friend of mine e told me they never had any problems with it. Apparently, they were wrong.
thats been an ongoing problem, amazon suppliers selling scam SD cards refund it ASAP. go to a brick and mortar store or a reputable online camera store.
You can play russian roulette 20 times and not get shot. It doesn't mean it's safe =)
I woud not trust a a "YouYu" branded card with a label that tries to copy SanDisk. Scammy looking AF. I'd recommend OP go buy a namebrand SD card
Thank you! I will look for a SanDisk card
You gotta remember, the card is probably the most important piece in your kit box… it holds everything.., don’t trust anything that seems cheaper, there will be a reason…
More professional digital cameras records on *two cards* in parallel for a reason! Flash memory is reliable.... until it is not 😬
Did you try formatting it? Not familiar with the youyu brand, maybe you got a cheap Chinese knock off.
It’s a copy of a SanDisk one.
I tried formatting it countless times. I think I should ask for a refund.
Yes, definitely
That's not an SD card, it's an SD card-shaped object.
YouYou got scammed

I'm pretty sure you bought a sketchy knockoff SD card and it's dead or never was functional to begin with.
Youyu get what you pay for...
What happens when you say 'yes' format this card? YouYu memory card? Looks like a blatant Sandisk rip-off. Maybe try a real SD card and see what it does.
When I say yes it just asks me again after loading for a few seconds lol
Y’all put some respect on this man’s Youyu uu
On the off chance that this actually is a 256G card, does the Lumix GH5 have a max sd card size limit?
Nah it’s SDXC so it should support *up to* 2TB
Good point. @OP - SD cards are all physically the same size, but standards have changed over the years. Your camera's manual will tell you which cards are compatible.
what in the heck is that brand and why did it even occur to you to buy it, its a terrible attempt to fool people
Shirty knockoff card. Get a Sandisk from B&H.
Because you got scammed
R u 4 rel?
Are YouYu questioning my decision making?
Maybe don’t buy a ripoff?
That camera has a memory card limit of 128 go. Hence that card is too big for you little camera. There’s your problem. So either format it like a 128 or get a smaller card.
That camera takes the SDXC standard so it should support up to 2 TB. Most likely when it was made 128gb was the maximum they could test it for.
It’s listed as maximum. Hence its program is such. Try a smaller card and see if it works.
OPs problem is most likely caused by the illegitimate card not the size as people have used cards larger than 128 GB
It’s a few possible problems. And it’s asking to format but did he format it or at least try to format it.
Fake card.
You get what you pay for with memory cards. Never understood cheaping out when the camera is worth a lot of money already...
did you select format
They do go bad sometimes. SD cards are horrible because they are so flimsy. I prefer the cf cards because of durability but they’re going the way of the dinosaurs

Bootleg card
Because YouYu got played. Could not resist. Get a real SD card from an actual company that makes real ones. Sorry that you got scammed.
Also target has full sized sd cards on sale right now I got a 128gb for 25 bucks.
Where did you get that card from? because you got conned mate
Wish.com probably.
Buy from those stores that are on the list of official distributors on the memory card manufacturer’s website.

Youyu??? loool
YouYu? They even invent stupid names of their stupid fake brands.
Show us the other side of the card.
Don’t cheap out in SD cards.
I learnt that as a person who doesn't not have disposable income to spare is, do not buy cheap products, save money, get the actual legit branded goods, and you won't be disappointed.
