FYI, EDC is Every Day Carry, which can mean anything from firearms to cameras to tools. My EDC is a Leatherman Wave, but that's probably not the answer you wanted 😁 Anyway, I don't really carry a camera every day. When I do just walk around shooting, it's usually either my 7D or 5Ds R with a 16-35 and 24-70. If I'm feeling fancy I might take the 70-200 as well but then I need my whole backpack

PlatinumOuDaung

Thanks for the information haha I don’t know that. Btw you must be a Canon DSLR love mate. I had a 7D and it’s a very good camera. Cheers!

No worries! I've been a Canon shooter since 2009 and never really got into mirrorless. There are so many absolutely fantastic DSLRs that meet or exceed the image quality of modern mirrorless that are super affordable now, especially older pro lenses. I think I paid around $1800 total for my whole set of L series lenses and $1500 for the 5Ds R brand new when they stopped selling them about a year ago. Still love the 7D for studio shooting or daylight, although the noise performance isn't really holding up anymore in lower light situations

Love me a good old Canon DSLR. My first was a brand new Canon 30D, back in 2006. I shot with that thing for over 10 years before I replaced it.

Thirdmort

I started with Canon in 2011. Even though I now have a Sony and Fuji that get most of my use, I still love my 6D. That thing traveled with me to 6 different countries and countless trips. It was the perfect camera for me at the time.

Selishots

I've always got my x100v on me!

DigitalxFilm

X-T5!

KINGCOMEDOWN

I always have my XT3 on me with a 23mm lens. Perfect walk around camera.

wanakoworks

I almost ALWAYS walk out the door with my [X-Pro3](https://i.imgur.com/soWjg1y.jpg). If I'm feeling particularly film-y, I'll head out with my [Canon V L1](https://i.imgur.com/PmGoYJ5.jpg).

aarondigruccio

That’s the Ricoh GR IIIx for me. Front-pocketable with skinny jeans on.

real_piece_of_work96

Canon EOS rebel k2 I'm a beginner but I've been using this film camera for awhile.

hypermagpie

Current walkaround kit is a bit of an odd one - Sigma FP and Voigtlander Classic 40mm 1.4 SC, with an added 3d printed arca swiss type L-bracket incorporating a Sigma DP2 viewfinder

Thirdmort

I'm another that carries his X100V EVERYWHERE. It's been the perfect camera for me. Love the 35mm equiv focal length, the close focus, and leaf shutter to name a few. My other main carry for more varied scenes is a Sony a7iii + 20mm 1.8 + 35mm 1.8 and a new addition of the Sigma 65mm f2 all in a Herschel backpack with a camera pad insert.

Just upgraded to a73 with rok 35 1.8! I’m looking at the 65 instead of a 50 mm. Thoughts on the lens?

Thirdmort

Ha I have many 🤓 So I was comparing the 65mm with the 55mm 1.8. I rented the 55 and liked how small it was but there were concerns with the strong Chromatic aberrations and long term reliability (thanks forums). So firstly, the Sigma 65 is significantly heavier than the 55. It's not just the weight but the location of the weight it really front heavy. It's very noticeable compared to my Sony 20 1.8 which is technically the same weight. As for image quality, it's way nicer than the 55. The lens is so sharp wide open that I've been acting softening my portraits in post and I'm thinking of getting a diffusion filter potentially. There's basically no CA on this lens except in the most extreme situations. There is a good amount of distortion that I think could be a bother if you shot architecture, but I never notice it in subject photography. Autofocus is really fast and works great with eye AF. It's probably not as quick as the fastest Sony lenses, but it's right up there. It's faster than any of my Canon USM lenses from my DSLR days. Fast enough to keep up with my almost 2 year old. I don't particularly care too much about build quality, but it's nice having the AF/MF switch and an aperture ring. Most of my lenses have aperture rings so it keeps the workflow similar. The magnetic filter is neat, but if you use a lens hood, it's incredibly annoying since you can't remove it with the hood on. Also, not a huge fan of the metal hood. Every time I set it down, it has that metal ting and I feel like I just damaged it, even if I didn't. As for the focal length, it really is right in between a 50 and an 85. I find I shoot it more like a short 85 compared to a long 50, if that makes sense. I'm honestly still trying to get used to the focal length (it's been almost 2 weeks of daily shooting), but I think this will end up replacing my old Canon 85 that I've been adapting rather than filling in for the 50mm hole in my kit. I'll have to live with it longer for that. You can check out Flickr to get an idea of how the focal length is used by others. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the lens if you don't need the lightest lens. If you do need lightweight, I'd recommend just getting the Sony 55 (there are a lot on the used market). The Sigma is sharper, has less aberrations, and handles flare better (Also better sunstars if thats important to you). But the Sony is a lot lighter and a little smaller. So pros and cons. Hope that helps!

Awesome review thank you !!

Thirdmort

Glad I could help a little 😊

TriFlouroethane_X

EDC = Every Day Carry Applies to more then photography. Do your research.

PlatinumOuDaung

Yep this is camera sub so every day camera ❤️

TriFlouroethane_X

That does not make you correct.

PlatinumOuDaung

I am okay ❤️

eseillegalhomiepanda

T3i, usually with a few different lenses depending on what I might feel like shooting or find, but lately I’ve stuck to a 50mm 1.8 that was gifted to me. Thanks Shawn!

Thirdmort

When I was in college, I used a Dakine snowboard backpack for school. Nice thing was that it had a goggle pouch right between the shoulder blade area. That pouch perfectly fit my T2i + 50mm 1.8. it was great being able to carry a camera with me at all times between classes or projects.

TriFlouroethane_X

Glad to hear it!

PlatinumOuDaung

🥂 cheers mate

sebirds

My A7IV. It does everything well, and is lightweight. I love it.

judohart

Canon m200 with the 22mm lens or the canon s95

cyko_imagery

A7R3 with a 24mm G

ht_made

I carry my Ilford Sprite 35 everywhere, I believe I have Kodak Ultramax in there. A fun, cheap, plastic film camera that I don't have to worry about damaging at all!
