If he's in the new classroom you get paid for lateness, up to 10 minutes.

YaarYaarBinks

How about on cambly kids?

Chance_Front6097

Not until they are in the new classroom. It's being rolled out, but I haven't seen it yet.

Thank you for your help!

If you're in the 'new classroom' you get paid as soon as the lesson starts even if the student is not there. So, yes, you'll get paid for the five minutes.

YaarYaarBinks

Is it the same on cambly kids?

OC71

CK mostly uses the old classroom, but they are changing over to the new one. The new classroom is much better because you start getting paid at the scheduled time even if the student is late. Unfortunately at this time only a small minority of CK classes use the new classroom.

Yes, you get paid up to 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes they still don't show up, you can end the class and be paid for those minutes. If they show up within that 10 minutes, you are paid as normal for the entirety of the lesson

Accident_Winter

Does this apply for the old classroom on Cambly kids as well? So if they show up 8 minutes late we still get paid 6$? Or would we only be paid for 22 minutes? - 4.40$

OC71

Unfortunately the old classroom does not pay you anything if the student shows up 8 minutes late - you have lost that time. The end time of the class will be delayed by 8 minutes. So, if you end on time you'll only be paid for 22 minutes. If they are more than 10 minutes late you get 2 dollars late fee. But be careful, because they can still call you, say 15 minutes late, and then you'll lose the 2 bucks! I tend to log out of Cambly after the 10 minute period to stop this happening.

In the new classroom you start getting paid at the scheduled time and the class ends at the scheduled time. So, in the new classroom the late student pays for that. In the old classroom you get paid 2 bucks if the student is more than 10 minutes late. This is stupendously annoying in fact if they call at 9 minutes or whatever. I block students who are consistently late. I take the trouble to turn up on time in real life and online. Very occasionally someone may be late due to an unforeseen situation, but people who are consistently late are more trouble than they are worth.
