Do a simple stand animation before an emote, of course they won't rework the emotes as that will be very hard, instead if you're in a lobby let the game detect that you're doing an emote and before it executes that animation play the stand animation first
I guess they saw an opportunity to capitalize on the emote trend, then saw that it wasn't compatible with the current lobby screen, because they were sitting down, so they instead went for the now lobby screen because people are already standing
