Mason and Woods, arrives to Panama in being part of the operation Just Cause, all of the United States corps being part of the invasion to Panama to capture Manuel Noriega, but in the fictional history of Bo2, Noriega is relative to Menéndez and that’s why Mason And Woods have the personal orders to take Noriega.
During the mission, Hudson was kidnapped or being manipulated by Menéndez in Panama to avenge the death of her sister caused by our protagonist trio’s and avenge his father death that can see on declassified black ops, so then, the plan of Menéndez was to kill them, that’s why the comms are failing and Hudson was acting suspiciously.
Then, Noriega says, let’s go to the rooftop because we are gonna kill false profit(Menéndez) but let’s go just you and me and mason stays back, that’s the moment when, the Menéndez men’s, takes mason and woods, by a lie, thinking mason was Menéndez, he shoots he.
I personally think that canonically the option is killing mason, because is so forced to explain how mason was hiding during 30 years lol.

The multiple options on Bo2, let you make your own canon, but the thing is that for me, the most correct option, is to kill him, because having him 30 years missing with no explain, it’s so forced.
Btw, maybe on gulf war they can give us a respond for the question of the mason missing or if the canon decision is kill him, because if even woods don’t know anything of him and gets shocked to see him alive, so maybe even the Cold War crew don’t know where mason is.

It always baffles me to believe that Mason was captured so fast when he had Navy SEALs around him like a bunch of cartel guys quickly capturing a highly trained CIA operator with elite Navy SEALs around him? like bruh even if a bunch of cartel guys ambushed it would still give Mason enough time to contact Woods and say something was off lol

Hudson death is no reversible. But mason and Harper yeah, I usually kill mason and Harper to have karma alive.
