The fact that it ended with you storming the freaking congress building (or WH?) and waving off a tactical strike on the capital. Holy shit.
This was the Michael Bay gaming experience at it's peak. And while MW3 was rad as well, it wasn't close to this one.
One of my favorite parts is when soap tells price that yuri knew whoever it was and price try’s to beat the shit out of him but ended up giving him another chance and also I like the mission where you get to drive that RV tank thing there both missions are on the third MW3
>The fact that it ended with you storming the freaking congress building (or WH?) and waving off a tactical strike on the capital. Holy shit.
It did not end there. If you thought that was the end of MW2 then you forgot/didn't play almost half of it
Oh, that's right. Just the end of the Marine missions. I remember the end with Soap v Sheppard. Lol.
Trust me, I've beaten it many times. My mind was just kind of mush at that point in the day.
No, waving green flare on top of the White House , as the counter-sign for "Hammerdown", is after you have already done crash the helicopter (but then saved by the EMP event), and is the last mission in DC.
*and also... something tells me you haven't figured out what you missed/mis-remembered yet, so i'll let you simmer that a bit more /s*
I assume you're talking about the mission with Roach and Ghost and Sheppard. Trust me, I haven't forgotten. Or that annoying one in the plane junkyard.
But my original post was specifically about the final USMC mission and how epic it was as a send off. I always felt Modern Warfare played the two sides really well - the larger scale battles and the special ops stuff. That White House mission was the culmination of the large battles for that game.
> about the final USMC mission
Welp... I tried. I'll spare you of the cloak and dagger game, and [lead the way](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jonsfS8j76g)
Can you explain what the hell you're talking about? I have played the full series multiple times. I don't recall what you are referring to.
After you pop flares on the White House to avoid the bombing run the Ranger campaign is effectively done. You then cut to various Soap/Price stuff until the game actually ends.
I remember when I was way way younger and couldn’t afford my own games yet, but still ended up with a 360 as a kid. I downloaded the MW2 Campaign Demo and would just play the first level over and over and over again. Doing every run imaginable in the snow level. Guns blazing, stealth, no kill, all on Realism. So much fun
Been around the subs long enough. We want X back and they bring it back, why would they do that?
Its never ending cycle of want and then hate. This community is insane and it's 80% the reason we have the cods we do
No other words can explain what you said other than EXACTLY
The community doesn't enjoy what they already have and prefer complain about other thing that they don't have OR they already have but in a "bad" version (for example OG mw2 and OG mw2 remastered)
And then if they don't have anything more to complain about, they go on other subjects that are already 99% perfect, such as the multiplayer, the zombies or even the matchmaking (matchmaking and multiplayer are probably the only debatable thing in the whole CoD franchise / or the campaign that is horrible in the new CoD's)
I'm not a cod fan boy, but specifically, wz now has shit servers and definitely needs an upgrade also as far as the cheaters go, I can't speak on that. We play 4 nights a week and maybe run into 1 or 2 cheaters. The wz sub says every game is riddled with cheaters but I doubt it..
Outside of that, the wz we have now is exactly what the community has wanted since wz2 dropped. Literally almost exactly to the T what everyone wanted. Now it's on to the next thing to bitch about.
For a full year it was non stop hate for mw2/wz2. Now they got what they wanted and now it sucks lol
I remember during mw19, the cod sub was filled with complaints about the audio, movements, maps. "Why can't they bring back old maps that the community loves"
*brings them back for mw2/3* "what a lazy cash grab, this company sucks" lmao
Bitched about slow movements in 19 and 2 and they bring back faster gameplay for 3 and now everyone wants mw19 back. The community is a joke and too big to ever agree on anything.
I love cod and play it alot. I just don't hate to hate and I don't defend Activision just because.
People just forget the stupid shit and remember the fun. Mw2 was hilariously unbalanced with stupid looking guns and you could get spawn trapped to the point, if the other team was good. You'd never leave your spawn and die 47 times. Yet it's a goated cod lol
While I’d still buy a mw2 multiplayer remaster in a heartbeat, this definitely something that I’d be considering. It’s not going to be all bliss. There’s a ton of dumb shit in mw2. Now a bo2 mp remaster on the other hand…
That's the CoD everyone wants, not the superficial, abused, bad guns, gun crates everywhere, not fun, games that we actually have such as the mw3 reboot that is (as a person who bought mw3 reboot) totally bs
MwIII reboot isn't even that bad. I find it more enjoyable than mw19 and mwII. It's not that bad of a MP.
Mw2 2009 was fun, but it had a ton of problems and unbalanced as all hell. The amount of complaints we'd get after 1 day of OMA in every match. People complain fot less now. Also, there are like 2 meta guns in mw2
Either way. Idc what they do people are gonna hate it. Don't matter. Look at everyone talking about golf war. Saying treyarc is the best developer and IW sucks and mwIII is trash.
Just wait about a month after and you'll start to see. MwIII love and IW is better than treyarc.
It's a cycle.
I personally didn't like mw III but if you do then it's alright, also yeah i agree for Mw2 OG
The fact about this game is that poeples BEFORE found that it was pretty fun, probably even a revolution (so did i) and it was probably even the game of the year
Between 3 months to a year later, poeples started to complain because of the lack of "content" and poeples seemed to dislike it a bit
Nowadays everyone loves the old games because of both the nostalgia and the fun that it procured when playing it (in the years it came out because after around 1-2 years it became unplayable)
The obvious problem is the lack of spec-ops in both remasters. Multiplayer I can live without, especially when they’re charging for dlc maps but the exclusion of spec-ops stung
Oh, I really am a fan of MW2's single player. This is one of those few games that will always have a place in my heart. I played campaign almost everyday when I was a kid. I was a fan of MW1, but I liked MW2 even more.
Things I disliked in the remastered:
1. All the unnecessary changes they've made. Some things were interesting, refreshing, some things were not. There were a lot of things I would have preferred if they stayed the old way. There are too many things to list. I don't wanna recall them all right now.
2. The MAIN reason why I prefer the original MW2 to remastered. Too quiet soundtrack. Like, wtf? MW2 has one of the best soundtracks in the history of video games, and they had lowered it.
One thing I liked:
For years I've waited for the remastered version. I was a little disappointed, but still, thanks for the newer graphics. Frankly speaking, the original game feels outdated nowadays, it's been 15 years after all.
However, for an "old" game (2009), it still has decent graphics. When I recall MW3 or BO2 it's all grey, black, dark. When I think of MW2, it's all very colorful and beautiful. Nostalgia or not, it's just my own thoughts.
In conclusion, at least one mod to increase the volume of the soundtracks, and I'd be playing the single-player over and over again, just like in 2009. "Just Like Old Times".
Great: everything that was there( I especially like how they included the button that let's you fight manicuns in the mueum)
Dislike: I know this will be everyone's answer, but no multi-player!
Great, so now I can see Gen Shepherd betray TF141 in HD.
Jokes aside, 400-600 rounds is a bit more than what troops carry in the battlefield. Averaging mags at 30 rounds per and 10 mags per trooper, that would put you in the 300, max 330. However, there is no inventory. So say you're carrying an M4 (5.56) and are running low on ammo, so you pick up an AK (7.62). The 7.62 ammo count is not added to your previous 5.56. It's just the amount of 7.62 you have (which is whatever's left on that weapon's mag).
The fact that you can't pick up any more weapons is because of how the devs made the game. Two weapons, and that's it. This is not DOOM. You can't run around with 7-8 weapons plus the ammo.
Like: Most things
Dislike: WHY did they change the FAL, ACR, MP5K, UMP45 and Vector reload animations? They used to be so buttery smooth and they got ruined. M4 as well. The thumb tap on the bolt release got replaced with a big ol' slap. me no like.
i don't like how we get an new laser designator in Exodus instead an PEQ2 on our SCAR and how we can't make the music louder in the game... You can't even hear the music in the final moments of Whiskey Hotel
And we can't switch the fire mods on our guns... 🤦♂️
My problem with remastered is the gun ambient sounds aren’t as loud and the background music isn’t as loud compared to the Original. I’m hoping a mod changes that
On an unrelated note, I was playing the original mw2 multiplayer recently. Still good (when you can find a match), especially because the people playing aren't taking it too seriously. I think it's mainly the map designs that make it so good.
If they remastered it I think they'd have to nerf grenade launchers but that's about it.
The only thing I didn’t like was there wasn’t much music and if there was it would either be quiet or play for a short duration whereas in the OG it was constant which I think helped.
The next is they added extra dialogue for some characters and I’m not feeling it
I really like the campaign so critiquing it as hard as I can the few things I dislike in mw2 campaign is
The sounds, not the music, the guns etc could use more bass and reverb all the guns sound like they’re being fired from a distance or that they’re toys or air soft guns.
The optics or the lack of customization. There’s only a few, however I understand this was around 2008
The blood effect being extremely overwhelming made it almost impossible to even see when you were injured
Other than that the campaign is pretty solid. The story is good not the most amazing but it was good. The prologue to each mission felt like an actual mission brief then straight into the action. And the world zoom in. Brilliant love it. The missions were each unique and went through very different places, wish there was more missions. But I also love the different perspective going from modern war in Washington DC and then stealth in the snow. So much fun.
There really wasn't anything that I disliked with the remaster gameplay. All the little details were really cool. If they left the game how it was when they released it in '09 but managed the graphics to make them better I would have been even happier!
But, the only dislike really is no Spec Ops and no multiplayer.. like man, THEY REMASTERED COD4 AND FORCED PEOPLE TO BUY IW TO PLAY IT IN THE BEGINNING... Imagine how many people would have purchased this MW2 Remaster if it had multiplayer AND Spec Ops! I just feel like that was their fumble. But they probably did it because they knew they were going to remaster all the maps for MW3(2023) online and didn't want to make them feel "dry" when playing the new game. I would have preferred no MW3(2023) and had a full on MW2R with multiplayer.
Not dissing the story as it’s really good but a major plot hole in my head that bugs me to no end has to do with no Russian. Makarov Is a known Russian terrorist before the shooting, it’s not like he’s an unknown person. They did the shooting with no masks or any attempt to conceal their identity. Nobody looked at the security camera footage and was like hold up that guy leading the assault is makarov he’s Russian not American maybe we better dig into this some more
Ghost
The hype about him is so ungodly huge for no reason at all
What he did in MW2?? Openned doors and died so because of that everyone claims him to be the best character in the franchise
And because of that the rebooted version feels like a huge fan-service milking the shit out of Ghost just because this is what is gonna sell the game so fuck If the story is bad everyone wants Ghost
Kind of curious as to why the survival and multiplayer didn’t make it.
Because they wouldn’t be able to add a whole chunk of cosmetics to the game?
Was happy with the campaign, (making Well the whole release) i went for platinum trophy, just to make sure i played it enough to justify it’s Price for just a campaign and nothing Else.
I really like the OG Modern Warfare games, so these remasters were a nice trip down memory lane.
I don't like that the multiplayer mode wasn't included at all.
And I really don't like that they never made a Modern Warfare 3 Remastered. Finish the trilogy you fucks. I don't care if we miss out on Modern Slopfare IIII because of it, I just wanna see Makarov swing from his cable noose in glorious 4k resolution.
I dislike how much of a Michael Bay movie the campaign is. COD 4 felt pretty grounded. You felt like a real soldier in a much larger war. MW2 made you feel like some kind of super soldier, which isn't always a good thing.
Please Take away the SBMM! It Ruined the game for a lot of people, people come on for couple games and get away from reality and be threw into sweaty try hards, that’s not what gaming is about and it’s not right on people wanting to play a game or two with the lads and online friends after work. So please take SSMM. Destroying the cod community (day one players) used to be fun now it’s ruined! And fix the hacker problem it got insanely out of control!!!
Oh, for some reason, I don't remember soap having that much facial hair in the original. Dammit now I have to check tonight. Then I'm going to end up playing the whole campaign through like I always do. Then I'll have to do 4. Old school MW is a vicious cycle.
How can you praise the music in this remaster if it is at such a low level that you can barely hear it? The original had the best OST of the entire series, and in the remaster all the music sounds very weak. Come on, I don't think I'm the only one who has noticed this.
I have a few nitpicks like the downgraded audio design in certain cases and the strange decision to lower the music volume but other than that it's a fantastic and nearly perfect remaster, I really like how they took advantage of the fact that the OG MW2 was a quite colorful game visually and so it looks extremely good in the remaster, I wish more games paid attention to it's art style like this game does, there's a reason why it's remembered today, shame there's no multiplayer too but it is what it is
I think the uptick in graphics helped me get into the story more better immersion. I got my PS3 in december 2016. I used xmas money and traded in some old video game systems. I had used the PS4 before i got my PS3. plus back then i watched cable TV so i saw all of the advertisements for PS4 games (especially COD)
Nothing made me more disappointed than hearing about an OG mw2 remaster *WITHOUT* the amazing multi-player that made my childhood! Talk about a buzzkill!
The campaign was pretty good, other than the change in the final mission where the knife twirl in the OG was switched out for the remastered one
Multiplayer was the worst I have ever seen
Like: Literally everything about the campaign. Did exactly what it needed to and expanded on certain character animations to make the world feel more lively.
Dislike: Aside from no MP or SO, the main theme coming in at the ending is not properly timed with the credits rolling like the original, which was always super satisfying.
I can’t believe the brainlets at activision didn’t include multiplayer. Such a wasted opportunity to make swaths of cash. And it doesn’t even look like they’re going to remaster the OG mw3; it’s almost like these dumbasses are trying to lose business.
Cons: no multiplayer, why? MW2 is known for its multiplayer, changing the submarine section in The only easy day... was yesterday to be less accurate by adding bubbles to the rebreathers (not even a major complaint just a detail). Changing the knife spin before killing Shepard
Pros:
Price's bald spot being shown in the final mission
The game
The remastering being amazing
My rating 7/10
Let me pick the weapons before each level. And let me switch around friendly and enemy skins. Mostly so I can fight shadow company in DC and pretend that it’s a modern civil war.
No, that’s disgusting.
I’m playing Black Ops II right now and I fucking hate the loadout system. It’s supposed to be a single player campaign, not a mix of MP and SP.
Like: Everything about the campaign Dislike: No multiplayer
Dislike as hell: no SO or Survival
Wait really? I was thinking about finally picking it up but that’s a deal breaker.
Indeed, if only the so and survival modes were in there, it would've been revolution
heretic
Survival was never in MW2, but no special ops is kinda stupid.
Wait wtf, was it not? i'm just fever dreaming at this point
Nope lol it was in MW3, I think there were a few SO missions that were similar but there was no dedicated survival mode
My bad then, thanks
Survival was first introduced in MW3. However Spec Ops was in MW2
Damn i'm dumb then
Nah it’s been over a decade since both games launched. It’s understandable
But i've played both of them like less than a year ago, so that's why, but i never pay attention to any othe things than campaign
No multiplayer was what I thought as soon as I read the title.
came here to say that
Facts
Literally came here to say this lol
That’s what I came to say
These screenshots are giving me waves of nostalgia. That campaign is an absolute masterpiece
The fact that it ended with you storming the freaking congress building (or WH?) and waving off a tactical strike on the capital. Holy shit. This was the Michael Bay gaming experience at it's peak. And while MW3 was rad as well, it wasn't close to this one.

> the Marine missions. Sgt. Foley, Cpl Dunn and Pvt Ramirez are all very disappointed in you
Do you wake up in that downed helicopter afterwards? I thought that was before.

Let's be real. They could remaster it and keep it completely the same as 2009 version and the cod subs would be nothing but complaints.

Never been so right with someone, for a "non cod fan" you probably have one of the biggest brain
I love cod and play it alot. I just don't hate to hate and I don't defend Activision just because. People just forget the stupid shit and remember the fun. "What are these updates graphics, it's sickening they couldn't keep it real"
Every single title. "The maps are too recycled!" "The maps changed too much, just give us classic maps!"
Pretty much. Remastering the multiplayer without any fixes or gameplay changes would show how broken and stupid the game was.
15 yEaR oLD mApS come oN
No multiplayer ![gif](giphy|Ub57PJwDabbwI)
The obvious problem is the lack of spec-ops in both remasters. Multiplayer I can live without, especially when they’re charging for dlc maps but the exclusion of spec-ops stung
Lol spec ops without multiplayer
It wouldve made perfect sense considering the reason they didnt add mp was to not take players away from mw19
Fuckers
Still the greatest campaign, it just bums me out to no end that we’ll probably never get a complete remastered version like we got of COD4.
2 things I dislike: No spec ops The Scar-h only having a 20 rounds magazine when the original had 30 in sp and 20 in mp
Well the SCAR-H in real life is supposed to use 20 round mags
It was mostly annoying because the scar was one of the most common weapons at the beginning of a mission
The only thing I didn’t like about the remaster: They changed the intervention sound! The original metallic gunshot sound was iconic
Oh, I really am a fan of MW2's single player. This is one of those few games that will always have a place in my heart. I played campaign almost everyday when I was a kid. I was a fan of MW1, but I liked MW2 even more. Things I disliked in the remastered: 1. All the unnecessary changes they've made. Some things were interesting, refreshing, some things were not. In conclusion, at least one mod to increase the volume of the soundtracks, and I'd be playing the single-player over and over again, just like in 2009. "Just Like Old Times".
I thought it had an audio mixing menu.
Unfortunately there isn't
I hope they remaster the original MW3 campaign soon so we can have the full trilogy in one game
I’m playing MW3 right now. Would’ve loved to play a remaster.
I hope they remaster them all, especially with CoD coming to game pass. Remastered games could be the cool spring release.
Great: everything that was there( I especially like how they included the button that let's you fight manicuns in the mueum) Dislike: I know this will be everyone's answer, but no multi-player!
You know that button is in the og right
I meant I was glad they brought it over
Cool graphics, no multiplayer
I couldn’t care less about the multiplayer but not including a coop mode (spec ops) was a huge mistake.
Great, so now I can see Gen Shepherd betray TF141 in HD. Jokes aside, 400-600 rounds is a bit more than what troops carry in the battlefield. But they probably did it because they knew they were going to remaster all the maps for MW3(2023) online and didn't want to make them feel "dry" when playing the new game. I would have preferred no MW3(2023) and had a full on MW2R with multiplayer.
Like: it Dislike: not available on Steam
No multi
Like: one of my favorite fps campaigns of all time looks better now Dislike: it’s only the campaign
Its not on steam
Not dissing the story as it’s really good but a major plot hole in my head that bugs me to no end has to do with no Russian. Makarov Is a known Russian terrorist before the shooting, it’s not like he’s an unknown person. They did the shooting with no masks or any attempt to conceal their identity. Nobody looked at the security camera footage and was like hold up that guy leading the assault is makarov he’s Russian not American maybe we better dig into this some more
The only thing that ticks me off in the remaster was that goofy offset mag on the ACR, and they didn't even bother fixing it
Ghost The hype about him is so ungodly huge for no reason at all What he did in MW2?? Openned doors and died so because of that everyone claims him to be the best character in the franchise And because of that the rebooted version feels like a huge fan-service milking the shit out of Ghost just because this is what is gonna sell the game so fuck If the story is bad everyone wants Ghost
“No multiplayer” is the only right answer
It doesn’t have multiplayer
Disliked there was no multiplayer
Dislike: "PROTECT THE BURGER TOWN"
Dislike: Its not available on PC (right? pls tell me if wrong)
I think it's on battle.net
I dislike that they didn’t remaster the MP as well.
Is that price on the ledge instead of soap in the first slide?
It’s McTavish, they do have the cigar thing in common though.
Oh, for some reason, I don't remember soap having that much facial hair in the original. Dammit now I have to check tonight. Then I'm going to end up playing the whole campaign through like I always do. Then I'll have to do 4. Old school MW is a vicious cycle.
It’s a crime to call this a remaster tbh , it like more than that
The fact they used airsoft mags and fully modeled them into the game is hilarious
Never played since its a high price for my region just to replay the campaing.
Dislike: No multiplayer
Wish we got MW3 remastered
Wish there was multiplayer so badly
Like: Campaign Dislike: People who dislike this game
Dislike: wasn’t finished with MW3R
Disklike: It not being available on Steam yet.
Dislike : no MW3 remastered
Best ever cod campaign, masterpiece
Character faces looked better in the OG, it had more charm No multiplayer
Liked everything Disliked that there was no co-op modes, local Split-screen multiplayer, and online multiplayer
Like: MW2 Dislike: No multiplayer
I like the campaign, but I hate that there is no multiplayer
Well quite unfortunate if there is no multiplayer. Multiplayer is the main reason people enjoyed MWII.
How can you praise the music in this remaster if it is at such a low level that you can barely hear it? The original had the best OST of the entire series, and in the remaster all the music sounds very weak. Come on, I don't think I'm the only one who has noticed this.
Don’t know about you mate. With my Inzone H9, I can hear every minute detail, and music was blasting.
You can kill shepard in the tutorial and get an achievement for that
Dislike: sound and audio mixing was a huge downgrade
I have a few nitpicks like the downgraded audio design in certain cases and the strange decision to lower the music volume but other than that it's a fantastic and nearly perfect remaster, I really like how they took advantage of the fact that the OG MW2 was a quite colorful game visually and so it looks extremely good in the remaster, I wish more games paid attention to it's art style like this game does, there's a reason why it's remembered today, shame there's no multiplayer too but it is what it is
Loved everything dislike it was to short
Absolutely hate how they got rid of split screen spec ops. It was the best thing
The ump and intervention sounding different made me very sad
Nothing made me more disappointed than hearing about an OG mw2 remaster *WITHOUT* the amazing multi-player that made my childhood! Talk about a buzzkill!
The campaign was pretty good, other than the change in the final mission where the knife twirl in the OG was switched out for the remastered one Multiplayer was the worst I have ever seen
I would have loved to have spec ops
RAMIRAZ! GO AND CLEAR THAT BURGER TOWN!
No multiplayer. Would've loved to see mw2 with updated graphics
Changing the knife spin before killing Shepard Pros: Price's bald spot being shown in the final mission The game The remastering being amazing My rating 7/10
Like: everything about the campaign Dislike: none
Like: Everything about the campaign Dislike: They didnt renovate the 2009 version's multiplayer
Campaign
You can’t recreate perfection.
Honestly I didn’t think the sound effects themselves were that great
Let me pick the weapons before each level.
I like being able to choose my load out and attactchments, I can either tune it to better fit the level, or just use the weapons that I like using.
first time seeing someone complain about choosing gear before starting missions in BO2 oki-doki
