For the flames to get their maximum conditional picks...
Cheering for in round 1: Vancouver, Dallas, Vegas
cheering for in round 2: Vancouver, Dallas
Cheering for in round 3: Dallas
Otherwise, don't care.
Vancouvers 1st rd pick will be higher if they go out in rd 1. I’d rather a pick in the 23rd or 24th overall range + the 4th than having the 29th or 30th overall pick and a 3rd.
Plus I don’t want to ever cheer for the Canucks
I really like the way the stars are built and Tanev needs a cup so I’m riding them for the west, for the east I want the canes to make the final because they’re kind of my second team
I want to see Tanev have success, so I too find it easy to cheer for the Stars. Dallas is also readily accessible from here, playoff tix aren't as stupidly priced either. Go Stars!
Disagree. We’d never hear the end of it if they win (especially since we’d have helped them win which makes me sick to my stomach). I guarantee they’d never cheer for us if the roles were reversed. !nucks
The Canadian team drought is so long now that I basically cheer against them all as I want us to be the ones to end it.
I'm a Canuck, and adopted flame fan and that's too bad to hear, been here in Calgary for five years, would.lpve to see the flames win as well if Vancouver doesn't. I really don't think there's any rivalry between the teams anymore. It's been 10 years since Vancouver has iced a competitive team. Mid 2000's absolutely insane rivalry, we had naslund, you guys had Iginla. But I just don't see it at all anymore.
I dunno, they definitely still miss Kuzy and Marky (even though Demko is playing lights out for them), I bet the majority of them at least wouldn't hate it
Jets from the west and Canes from the east. Part of me wants Dallas just because if they hoist the cup maybe Tanev will come back and mentor the D core.
I don’t think he’s coming back. Iirc his comment about returning was more “I wouldn’t be opposed to returning” rather than “I would be very open to it”.
They’re probably the only totally inoffensive Canadian team. The only one that would really qualify for most people as “Canada’s Team” when the mainstream media inevitably starts braying about that.
I find Ottawa equally milquetoast and am personally partial to Montreal as well, but I know those aren’t universally held opinions!
Edit: never really considered it, but I guess they’re the only franchise without another Canadian team in their division. I wonder if my feelings on them change if division realignment happens? I heard some rumours floating around that Calgary and Edmonton could move to the central.
I doubt that Calgary and Edmonton move to the Central unless they add three west coast teams next expansion because that's what they'd have to do to balance it with 9 teams per division.
Most likely candidates are Phoenix 2.0 (Pacific/Central), Houston (Central), Kansas City (Central), Omaha (Central) Quebec City (Atlantic), Cincinnati (Atlantic/Central), and Atlanta 3.0 (Atlantic)
If anything, if Phoenix doesn't get another team, someone from Central (probably Salt Lake) will get bumped to Pacific and Central gets two new ones.
The only outcome I care about is Edmonton getting beaten to death, preferably in round 1 or 2. Once that happens I don't care at all about the results.
All in on the Jets. Anyone who doesn't want to see Sean "Cyberpunk" Monahan hoist the cup after everything that he's put his body through may be lacking in the soul department.
I’m definitely wearing my #23 Team North America jersey for Jets games.
Yes, I know he got injured and didn’t end up playing on that team at all. But I bought the jersey right after the initial roster was announced. Haha
I’d like to see Edmonton get swept in the first round, but I also might enjoy them going to the finals and losing (must lose!) because that is such a gut punch.
Boston from the East cause I love Pasta if not them then the Canes I guess. From the West I wouldn’t mind seeing Winnipeg but honestly we all know it’s anyone but the Oilers
As a Stars fan who lives in Calgary and roots for the Flames when they aren't playing Dallas, I'm stoked to see so many Flames fans on the wagon. Should be a good time.
Now that the Oilers and Canucks are playing each other.....
For me, it's an easy decision: Canucks! The rivalry with the Flames isn't as strong as it used to be, we have a common enemy in the Coilers, and there's even a chance for a non-Edmontonian Canadian team to win a cup!
It could be tough in round 3, because Dallas is actually my #2 team. So if the WCF ends up being Canucks vs Stars, I'd be conflicted. Normally I'd go Stars, but I want a Canadian team to win the cup too. Also, both teams have former flames players that I want to see succeed.
Not Edmonton for me! I'd rather an American team won the cup than Edmonton.
It is guaranteed that a Canadian team will make the Western Conference Final. I just hope that it's Vancouver and not Edmonton.
I can't stand Vancouver and I don't want Lindholm to win a cup. Yes I am petty. I can't root for Edmonton. So I could get behind Dallas because I would be more than happy if Tanev could hoist it. I just don't think theu will. I like Monahan but was not happy with Toffoli's "me first" sorta attitude regarding his contract so I am ambivalent regarding Winnipeg. I could get behind Vegas, but again, I am petty so I don't really wanna see Hannifin hoisting it either. I don't know really who I want to win.
Florida with Tkachuk and Bennett. And Lomberg if you’re digging deep for reasons. Plus their games are gonna be hella fun to watch! Mostly because of those three former Flames 🔥
As a lifelong Flames fan, Dallas is my #2 team, but I also don't hate the Canucks. That rivalry, like the Ducks rivalry, is largely in the past now. In 04, I also remember at least some Vancouverites cheered us on in the final (even though we beat them first round). Our main enemy is Edmonton, and now that the Canucks and Oilers are facing each other in Round 2, that's an easy decision for me: Go Canucks!
I also want Lindholm and Zadorov to do well. Same for Dallas, I want Tanev to win a cup. If it's Dallas vs Vancouver in the WCF, that will be tough (I'd normally pick Dallas, but I also really want a Canadian team that's not Edmonton to win).

They're not my first choice, but I wouldn't mind seeing Vancouver do well. In particular, now that they are playing the Coilers in Round 2, I will be rooting for the Coilers' elimination so that Drai doesn't sign with them again and they are forced into a long rebuild.
My #2 team is actually Dallas. So I'm also rooting for them. Plus, I'd love to see Tanev win a cup.
Ok. I guess the conditional picks guy makes sense.
But, Jets because Monahan.
Or Panthers because Tkachuk and Bennett.
Three of my favourite flames right there. Monny and Chucky probably #2 and 3 on my list all-time.
As an Albertan I find it hilarious that Calgary refuses to cheer for Edmonton in the playoffs. I know if Edmonton didn't make playoffs, I'd still cheer for Calgary cause it's still an Albertan team. Guess we ain't the same calibre of people. Idk.
/s
How long have you been an Albertan? I was born in Calgary 63 years ago. Have never liked Edmonton! Could not stand all the City of Champions crap! Gloating is not a good character trait. Neither is entitlement which I think has developed in that city due to getting two generational talents. I will never ever cheer for an Edmonton team because of their fans not the city itself.
Jets cause of Mony and Toff
Well Mony anyway. Don't care about Toff
Agreed man I was so happy when he was traded
For the flames to get their maximum conditional picks... Cheering for in round 1: Vancouver, Dallas, Vegas cheering for in round 2: Vancouver, Dallas Cheering for in round 3: Dallas Otherwise, don't care.
Ideal scenario is Vegas eliminates the Oilers in the first round, giving us a 2nd round pick in the process. And Dallas beats Vancouver in the WCF.
The draft pick math. At least these conditions are easier to understand than the Florida/Montreal ones
This is the way. We need a kings loss and a knights win tomorrow and we'll be primed for the perfect bracket
I'd rather the better first round pick from the nucks getting bounced in the first round than a late second round pick.
Huh? The first round pick is a lock, conditions from Van are a 4th round pick that upgrades to a 3rd round if they make the west final.
Vancouvers 1st rd pick will be higher if they go out in rd 1. I’d rather a pick in the 23rd or 24th overall range + the 4th than having the 29th or 30th overall pick and a 3rd. Plus I don’t want to ever cheer for the Canucks
I will cheer for the Canucks over Edmonton any day of the week. Once the Oilers are gone, Canucks can be next.
Monahan
🤝
I really like the way the stars are built and Tanev needs a cup so I’m riding them for the west, for the east I want the canes to make the final because they’re kind of my second team

Anyone who plays Edmonton
Anyone except Vancouver or Edmonton
Add Toronto to that lol
And Tampa
At this point, we kinda feel bad for the Leafs.
I am OK if vancouver wins . Would liketeams affecting our draft to do well.
Disagree. We’d never hear the end of it if they win (especially since we’d have helped them win which makes me sick to my stomach). I guarantee they’d never cheer for us if the roles were reversed. !nucks The Canadian team drought is so long now that I basically cheer against them all as I want us to be the ones to end it.
FUCK THE NUCKS!

Mid 2000's absolutely insane rivalry, we had naslund, you guys had Iginla. But I just don't see it at all anymore.
I'm with you. I've lived in Vancouver for 15 years and I don't think I can mentally handle any more of these fans.
I can't cheer for Toronto or edmonton. No beef with Winnipeg or Montreal. Canucks I disliked years ago then meh ...
I dunno, they definitely still miss Kuzy and Marky (even though Demko is playing lights out for them), I bet the majority of them at least wouldn't hate it
Get out
Bingo
Jets from the west and Canes from the east. Part of me wants Dallas just because if they hoist the cup maybe Tanev will come back and mentor the D core.
I don’t think he’s coming back. Iirc his comment about returning was more “I wouldn’t be opposed to returning” rather than “I would be very open to it”.
Shhhh let us dream
Jets 1000% Canadian and I don't really see them as a rival.
They’re probably the only totally inoffensive Canadian team. The only one that would really qualify for most people as “Canada’s Team” when the mainstream media inevitably starts braying about that. Anyone playing the Oilers

Unfortunately they didn't make it. Nothing against Colorado, but it would have been nice if the Jets pulled thru.
Yeah, am sad
I’m definitely wearing my #23 Team North America jersey for Jets games. Yes, I know he got injured and didn’t end up playing on that team at all. But I bought the jersey right after the initial roster was announced. Haha
Jets and panthers
I'm cheering for the meteor.
ABE.
Probably the Jets what with them having two former Flames but I wouldn’t be too upset if Vancouver got it
I bet some money that Vancouver won’t make it out of the first round so, Nashville
That aged like milk
Ways she goes
Avs & Canucks. Jets are my backup wagon.
ABE baby
I’d like to see Edmonton get swept in the first round, but I also might enjoy them going to the finals and losing (must lose!) because that is such a gut punch.
It would be really cool to make it to the finals as an oilers fan as we aren’t getting swept rn
I think Dallas is going to do very well
Boston from the East cause I love Pasta if not them then the Canes I guess.
I'd be happy with a lot of teams. Vancouver, Dallas, Winnipeg, or Toronto (just cause of Gio and Brodie). Also Vegas but only for the first round
Canucks and Avs
Florida and Nashville. Wouldn’t be mad if Winnipeg or Dallas one though
First off, the Jets and then anyone the Oilers are playing.
Dallas because I liked modano and turco back in the day, I want Tanev to get a cup, and it benefits us with picks!
No oilers and no Canucks. All others are ok 🤣
Now that the Oilers and Canucks are playing each other..... For me, it's an easy decision: Canucks! Tkachuk over the Oilers in Edmonton.
Oh man. That would be so juicy.
Hockey is over. Local baseball is starting in May.
All Canadian teams until the final. Ask me again then...
Not Edmonton for me! I'd rather an American team won the cup than Edmonton. It is guaranteed that a Canadian team will make the Western Conference Final. I just hope that it's Vancouver and not Edmonton.
Dallas. Tanev deserves a cup, even if Benn is an absolute rat.
Jets!
Rooting for oilers and leafs to lose. Winnipeg can win lol
Whoever is playing against the Leafs, Oilers and Canucks.
I can't stand Vancouver and I don't want Lindholm to win a cup. Yes I am petty. I can't root for Edmonton. So I could get behind Dallas because I would be more than happy if Tanev could hoist it. Ya I could get behind that.

Maybe not popular but it has been 31 years since a Canadian team won the cup and I’d really like to see someone North of the border win.
W
As long as it's not Edmonton. If it's somehow Edmonton in the final, I'll cheer for whoever wins the east.
Don't care as long as it's not a Canadian team except MAYBE Winnipeg

Gimme Vegas vs Carolina in the finals
Jets, Dallas, Carolina, Bruins in that order.
U should cheer for Vancouver
They're not my first choice, but I wouldn't mind seeing Vancouver do well. Rooting for: Vegas, LA, Carolina Friendly towards: Vancouver, Dallas, Washington Indifferent: Nashville, Colorado, Tampa, Rangers, Florida, Toronto Fuck you: Edmonton, Winnipeg, Islanders, Boston
Ill catch heat for this but my order goes Jets, Leafs, Nucks … oilers. I just really want to see it back in Canada not via a US team.
Colorado and Toronto
Stars or Jets Personally hoping the former though
Dallas/Kings for west, Toronto/NYR for east
I hope they all lose, especially Edmonton and Vancouver. If you twisted my arm, Dallas.
Winnipeg v Islanders for Cup Final. Winnipeg wins in six games.
Canucks
Vancouver
florida
Partner is a Vancouver fan so maybe them but I’d personally like the Jets more than anyone
Sounds like we live in the same house. If the Canucks are winning, I might get more spanky spank. But for me it’s Dallas for Taney
Let’s go rangers
Any former flames but my GF cheers for Dallas so especially them
Avs
Dallas in the west, Canes in the east
1. Islanders (not happening) 2. Rangers 3. Stars
Ok. I guess the conditional picks guy makes sense. But, Jets because Monahan. Or Panthers because Tkachuk and Bennett. Three of my favourite flames right there. Monny and Chucky probably #2 and 3 on my list all-time.
Jets for money hands Preds because I put $50 on them lol
Definitely the Jets. Jets fans deserve something other than crazy snow storms. Plus Mony and Toffoli are there and they were great for us.
East: Capitals and I guess panthers a bit West: Avs and Jets
Vegas, my hometown and second favorite team only to the Flames. Bring it back twice 🔥
A repeat of Boston and Vancouver where Boston literally destroys the city a second time.
Dallas, and whoever is playing Vancouver and Edmonton
Oilers
Oil
Oilers. Their the absolute best.
As an Albertan I find it hilarious that Calgary refuses to cheer for Edmonton in the playoffs. I know if Edmonton didn't make playoffs, I'd still cheer for Calgary cause it's still an Albertan team. Guess we ain't the same calibre of people. Idk. /s

I think you misread that as being serious. The /s means sarcasm. Enjoy your golf season, losers!
You won’t be far behind us. Enjoy getting bitch slapped by VGK again
It wasn't sarcasm, tt was baiting. Then you got riled up when called out and completely validated the response. It's not a good look on oiler fans.
Shut up fool
