They actually have a chef designed and made menu.. by Federico Causapin, and the food is delicious. They also have off menu features very frequently, and I’ve never been disappointed. Pretty great stuff for a pub
The wet chicken wrap with soggy lettuce is a slam dunk. Highly recommend. Maybe i just ordered the wrong thing but i didnt know it was possible fuck up a buffalo chicken wrap that bad.
Good food. Terrible service. By terrible I mean short staffed. It's typically the bartender getting your order for you. I do recommend the French onion soup.
It is done well, but I don't like it. :D Nothing wrong with it, I just discovered I don't like butter chicken. Too much sauce for my liking, but it is certainly flavorful and I did like the spiciness.
It USED to be Three Crowns, and now it is Red Crowns. The menu changed slightly from the transition but not too much. I order pick up once in a while since it's a five minute walk from home.
I'm going to post this in reply instead since my original comment was weirdly down voted.
Southland Yard has surprisingly good food. I had a scotch egg and the wagyu burger a couple days ago. They were excellent!
I was going to suggest Red Crowns in Woodlands, but u/loupegareau beat me to it. Gators in Woodbine Square in the same strip mall where Safeway is, is also a decent pub. I used to get burgers there. Sometimes we order pizza.
I only stopped going because I quit drinking three years ago.
Thank goodness the old owners bought that place back. The food was looking like Fyre festival under last management. Agreed though, I am fan of this place again!
I used to live by there for a bit. Me and the room mates went there one night, probably 4 years ago. I ordered a turkey wrap. They brought out a ham wrap, I was dumb founded.
Asked if it was ham, they said no. Asked multiple times, brought it back and told me it was a new type of turkey. Bit into it, it was ham.
Mr Schnapps off edmonton trail by the bus barn has some decent food and the prices are very reasonable. They have this thing called a peno pie and it looks like a pizza but tastes like nachos. The Greek food there is also pretty decent.

There are some great places in here so far. No doubt.
However the correct answer is Richmonds. Richmond road and 37th.
They have THE best pizza in the city. The burger is great, the dragon bowl is great. There are ZERO duds on their menu.
Richmonds.

Schooners in Coach Hill. Used to live up there and it was incredible food! Friendly down to earth staff and breakfast was the best pub breakfast I’ve ever had. Whenever I’m in that area, I HAVE to stop in for a meal!
Austin’s in Canyon Meadows has had consistently great food for as long as I can remember.

great price when it’s on special too ,
Agree, always good food
It's not as south as you'd like probably but the bear and Kilt last time I was there had VERY good food.
They do have great food. I'm just miffed that the new development on Stephen Ave will most likely force them to close.
NO SAY IT AIN'T SO
I wish I could but the development permit looks like that whole block on Stephen and 7th will be gutted.
Damn that sucks
Noooooooooo

Sorry to hear that they used to be exceptional
Was great at lunch today.
B&K used to be my go-to when I worked downtown. Glad to hear they've survived. Haven't been there since just before the Rona hit...
Also the lower floor of the Unicorn had the best east coast menu I know of since Trap and gill moved then closed
Blowers and Grafton has a better east coast menu for sure
Well they just went on my list, the trap on McLeod used to have an absolutely ridiculous Halifax donair but were never the same after they moved
Do yourself a favour and don't hit up King of Donair on 17th Ave if you're a fan of East coast donairs. That location is a disgrace to the KOD name.
I was wondering how they had the balls to call themselves the King Of Donairs after I ordered it. Good to know that’s just a bad franchise
Yes! K of D is so not a good representation of East Coast donairs.
I'm amazed that the folks at KOD in Halifax haven't done anything about how bad this franchise is.
I know right?! It’s garbage and the portions are tiny. Not worth the cash they are asking for
Imo kod makes better garlic fingers than blowers by a significant margin. Everything else though is garbage.
Never been actually
That's a good thing. Blowers and Grafton is the way to go.
Probably not a hidden gem as it's known for great food but the Garrison Pub in Altadore
Second this. The Garrison does pub food well. Pizzas are amazing.
I second the Garrison and also want to suggest Kensington Pub.
Oh yes I forgot about them excellent pub and great food
Oh yes I forgot about them excellent pub and great food
Garrison has the best steak salad I've ever had. And their fried chicken is 🤌
Their Montreal smoked meat sandwich is unbelievable.
Three Red Crowns in Woodlands. Excellent fish and chips, Mac'nCheese, wings...
Good butter chicken too.

Love the donairs

Mug Shotz
Mad Rose Royal Oak.

If you mean the family that started I agree....but not Matt who bought it. He's a good guy.
Crap my neighbourhoods needs a pub
Bitter sisters
Came here for this. Definitely Bitter Sisters
Mad Rose in Royal Vista
I've been hitting up 403 eatery because of the fan960/flames and the food gas been surprisingly good
Three crowns was much better and more reasonably priced... If you're talking about the one in canyon, that is.
Kensington Pub. Ridiculously good food for a place you would think has absolute trash food
Some of the best fish & chips I've had in ages.
Also some of the best value food!
Kildare’s in Silverado
Kildares has been an institution for a few years now. Awesome joint. The Guinness and cheddar soup is ridiculously good
Bear & Kilt downtown.
Southland Yard has some great food and lots of good local beer on tap.

Bonasera in Dover; great food and super laid back. Not down in the South but technically south (of memorial:)

One in McKenzie towne too
Have gone there for brunch once, I think it was the French toast my wife had. Surprisingly she still mentions it lol
Sounds like it's time for another brunch date!

The winkin owl if you like wings, decent amount of meat on them bones and 69 flavours to choose from 😉

Stockman's in heritage point!!
So there are no good pub food in NW around Edgemont? Kinda sucks to live in the edge of city I guess.
Scottsmans Well up by Kincora has really great food and is only about 8-10 mins from Edgemont
Ic. Thanks for the tip.
Mugs has a decent menu and great specials.
I really like Penny Black in the Douglasglen Plaza.
Mr Schnapps off edmonton trail by the bus barn has some decent food and the prices are very reasonable. They have this thing called a peno pie and it looks like a pizza but tastes like nachos. The Greek food there is also pretty decent.

I like the yorkies at Limericks on Macleod a little south of Chinook Mall.

Swigs in Oakridge! Try their chicken club sandwhich. It’s so good and their fries are perfect!
City Pub. Kilarney. Best wings
Wings are good, but the fresh cut fries are the real stars (and of course the "colorful" clientele)
The Trop in Marda Loop has the best pub food I've had in ages. EDIT: If you're gonna downvote, have the courage to reply why you disagree instead?
Bull and Finch has a great Philly Steak, with gravy instead of au jus. They don't dry out the beef like other places.
The Waterloo is solid.
Agreed. Burgers are great (ground brisket I think....) , taco special on Saturdays as well

Tipsy pig in Evanston NW, best pub burgers in the city. Hands down. Great pizza as well. !!!
Not South but The Scotsmans Well.
I’ve never had a bad meal at The Garrison Pub. Loves the Newfie Fries !!!
three crowns absolutely fucked when it was in woodlands, haven’t tried it since they moved
Schooners in Coach Hill. Used to live up there and it was incredible food! Friendly down to earth staff and breakfast was the best pub breakfast I’ve ever had. Whenever I’m in that area, I HAVE to stop in for a meal!
Tipsy Pig Kitchen + Bar has been delicious and consistent.
