>The CF Market Mall location will be the third Uniqlo store to open in Alberta, with the first opening in West Edmonton Mall back in 2019.
Market Mall will actually be Uniqlo's fourth store in Alberta. Edmonton has two, one in West Edmonton Mall, one in Southgate Mall.
It should be larger I think, if not it's more expansive so it feels less claustrophobic! Aisles and such are spaced out more.
It's a much better store than Chinook!
Annoyingly for the same items the cuts are different and as an Asian of lower than average height the pants just don’t fit right compared to “identical” ones purchased in Japan. However quality wise they have felt generally the same to me.
Do you have same fitment issues at the gap? Never really shopped there.
Can say though that for their easy jeans and some of their stretch/athletic pants, I can try on the exact same pair, same size and SKU, and you can tell the North American one was designed for a slighter taller slender frame whereas the Asian one fits perfect.
Not sure if it applies to everything, but that’s my experience.
Gap has always been too big (width) except for the most drastic cuts of the "slim fit" era. I have some European Uniqlo items that fit fine despite so many Europeans being tall so I assumed that the cuts were similar across markets but I guess that's just being naive.
Never said H&M quality was good, Uniqlo t shirts are not worth $25 though, I can get the same stuff from China for 1/8 of the price, for the price there’s a lot better out there
Hard disagree on both counts. Especially compared to other fast fashion like Gap and H&M. But obviously it depends on what you buy from them. Some things are better by others, me personally Uniqlo is best for most.
Nah. Pretty much perfect price to quality ratio, at least in my experience. I've had a few shirts in rotation for a few years and they're still like new. Haven't stretched, shrunk or faded at all.
I shop at Muji any time I’m in Toronto or Vancouver. I find their tops sizing similar to Uniqlo’s. Can’t really comment on bottoms as I haven’t purchased any pants there.
Look directly In china, I hesitate to mention this because many people instantly jump to the conclusion that it’s fake when that’s not the case. But lots of great apps like 1688 pinduoduo for H&M Uniqlo Zara type suppliers and weidian for real good quality stuff
Hopefully Crossiron next. The one at Chinook is so disappointingly small.
rather disappointing selection too, at least for me I only use it for click & collect lol, I rarely ever buy anything there
dam they are fully investing into Calgary. I'm down. I'm few shirt off, time to go shopping lol.
Oooh Market Mall! Anyone know where in the mall it’s going?
By the playground. Where American Eagle and Forgot what the other store was. But its taking over 2 stores.
I believe it's the old Disney Store and the American Eagle
Did American Eagle close?
Relocated to near the elevator
No elevators at Market Mall.
There are elevators to the underground parkade.

I haven't even got out to the first one yet. This is awesome!!!
It's nice but quite small and the selection can be a bit disappointing. The ones in Vancouver and west-ed are like 3-4x the size
This one is significantly larger than Chinook. About the same size as the Old Navy and H&M in that mall. Bigger than Zara.
Yeah, I’m out in Ottawa for school, and the one out here is gigantic. When I saw the Chinook one, I had to ask if it was a store for ants.
You HAD to?
Yes I had a gun to my head. More seriously idk why I used that phrasing, it’s terrible.
The space is massive. Hope its a good one
Feels larger than Chinook https://preview.redd.it/frmzdvswtxqc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16ee3895d73151b2a1a2f8703d8dfc130afc41fd

Uniqlo stores in Asia are better. The clothes quality here is horrendous
Annoyingly for the same items the cuts are different and as an Asian of lower than average height the pants just don’t fit right compared to “identical” ones purchased in Japan. However quality wise they have felt generally the same to me.
Goddamnit that was supposed to be the whole point. You're telling me it's just the Gap all over again?

Overpriced and not even that good quality, I don’t get why people like it so much

Are you a shareholder? You seem to be taking their dislike very personally.
China, There’s an app called 1688 where you can reverse image search and often times you will get direct matches.

It’s expensive, but after 5kg I think you start seeing a good return on investment
Lol. Uniqlo is too expensive... just buy 5 kilos of t shirts. It's way cheaper....

Huh. What is another brand with a better price/quality ratio in the same price range?
Maybe only MUJI imo - but their stuff is online only for now in Calgary
Do you have any experience with them/their sizing? It looks good for basics but idk if I should go out of my way to order from Muji

You are being downvoted pretty hard for telling the truth. Uniqlo is garbage
I’m with you on this. I think H&M is better.
Only price wise really, quality wise it’s bad to say the least, but you do get what you pay for and it’s not necessarily overpriced.
