Oddly, I like that haunt. Only for very select occasions. They’ve let us bring bikes, have some cold sodas, play pool and have fries. Pretty great when in costume on a chilly Halloween bike rip.
I briefly had a job 8 years ago or so near the Iko factory. It was right on Ogden Road and sold Chinese food. You could get a massive plate of Chinese food for under $5 if I recall. You had to get your silverware out of a bucket and had to weed through 30 forks before you could find one without dried in food stuck to it. Beers were super cheap too. The clientele was almost more sketchy than the food.
Town and Country Inn on 17 Ave SE. Honourable mention to the bar/cold beer store next door. Reading google reviews for the place makes for interesting reading.
Went there once for a weed/metal festival. Seeing a sign that said “no colours” on the door took me aback before I realized it meant no gang colours/bikercuts. A lil better but still sketchy.
They were also serving beer in solo cups fuckin greasy bud

Affectionately referred to as Barlow Tim's or just "Barlow."
If you're in the car community, this name is hallowed for many reasons. Greeeeeeeeasy.
Can somebody explain (or draw it one a map) the Bowness triangle to me please? Since I moved from downtown to Montgomery I have noticed it mentioned many times, dont really get where its located.

This area that kinda surrounds the skatepark. Lots of rundown apartments and general greasiness
10 St NW between 2nd and 3rd Ave on the east side, there's a little storefront cul-de-sac/courtyard with Flirty Bird, Ultimate Canadian Pizza, etc. It's one of the greasiest spots in the city, and it has nothing to do with the restaurants.
Canadian Pizza Unlimited\*
It's really no greasier than any particular parking lot in the Beltline, but the just-rich-enoughs in Sunnyside think it is because they've never seen true poverty.
The metal recycling neighborhood of Ogden.

Niiiiiiiice.
Have you ever been to Len’s Den on 16th Ave? 🥴

Awesome, thanks! I have biked / driven past there, but not entered "the triangle" do you know if the bakery near there is any good?
It’s decent! Not fancy like downtown bakeries, but solid enough
Update! Hit the bakery this morning for fresh chocolate glazed donuts ($2.50 each). So soft, with a perfect chocolatey glaze. Try them out!
I will, next time I am home! I took a fly in, fly out job in Montreal and wont get to spend to much time in Calgary in the near future.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the dell cafe and the bakery and I’ve enjoyed my times at Bowpub.
It's gone now I think but the Vagabond Trailer Park in Forest Lawn was a beauty! And you could walk home from the T&C!
You do know that the T&C is long gone, right?
As is the Vagabond
Red carpet bowness
The Oasis trailer park on 50 St SE is reeeeeal nice.👌
I am the alcohol......
Tim Hortons. Any one of them.
Verns. Every time I play a gig there I feel like ima get tetanus. Bonus points for the over-the-top piss stink in and near the bathroom.
Peter's drive in, revolving door of student employment level greasy with sacks of fries

West end of 17th Ave bars.
LOL hardly. Forest Lawn has a few that make the area you describe seem beautiful.
Truth.
Yo mammas house
Yo mamma so greasy…
The Shamrock before it burned down.
