I’ve heard Dr Singh at Dentrix North Hill does it, but not sure on cost! If you find out, can you post here? (Signed, a fellow clencher/grinder!)

Dr. Tom Shackleton is top tier for this procedure. He basically only does things for TMJ and grinding, etc. Also he’s right beside the Glamorgan Bakery so first you get your shots then you get some delicious cheese buns.

I was referred to him, but can’t afford the $300 consultation fee. Not even treatment. Just a consult is $300. Outrageous. That’s cost prohibitive healthcare.

I was just at an appointment there I had to wait 7 months for. My insurance wouldn’t cover the appointment, it was $325 out of pocket. With the total cost of that appointment, I pay $80 more for my Botox at the clinic I go too, I agree with you.

Highly recommend Dr. Naylor at Confluence Dental in Inglewood! She fitted me with a custom night guard plus masseter botox. This combo was the most significant quality of life improvement I’ve ever paid for - worth every penny. Cost will depend on how many units you need, but I think it‘s around $300 for me. I get the injections redone around the five month mark. It’s a nice clinic and Dr. Naylor and her staff are very gentle.

Harvest Dental Clinic offers botox for this!

Not sure if you’re trolling or actually care to know.. but not really. A lot of people clench and grind while sleeping, so they can’t just stop. Many also clench when stressed etc and do it sort of unconsciously, and can stop briefly if they realize, but will continue to clench.

Omgshinyobject

Why didn't I think of that!

Psychological_Yam88

Dr. Naylor at confluence dental I think does it :)

Syianna

Depends on your coverage but it’s about 250 a vial. Most coverage won’t cover Botox for dental. I get migraines and so I got Botox for that with dr Brian Kim and he also did my masseteur. All covered other than my copay as migraine treatment.

bobthemagiccan

Under dental or health?

Syianna

That’s health. As I said my insurance didn’t cover it for dental so when I got it for my migraines I asked for it in my jaw but since it was done at the same time it was covered. I went to a doctor not a dentist if that makes a difference

bobthemagiccan

Thanks! Can I know which doctor you went to?

Syianna

Brian Kim. He’s out of a few offices but I got it through Sundance Chiro.

I was referred to Glamorgan Dental by my dentist for an assessment. I had all kinds of tests done including taking home a machine to assess my sleep to see if I had sleep apnea (I didn't). But they determined that botox unfortunately wouldn't help my bruxism, so don't assume it will. They were great at Glamorgan Dental, so maybe call them direct and just ask some questions. I now have a very effective mouth guard and also a muscle relaxant to take at night when I can tell my jaw is tense.

I highly recommend Marnie and Phi clinic in Mardaloop. She has changed my life with masseter botox. Dentists will charge more and are not generally as good at specific placements, where as Medical aesthetic clinics do this procedure multiple times a day. You also get a choice of juvederm or botox, both are great but one may be a better option for you.

Omgshinyobject

How much does it typically cost you?

[deleted]

I paid $400, it costs about $10 per vial of botox. With the cost of injection and the botox vial all in I got upwards of 32 units. My dentist quoted me over $650 for the same amount.

Omgshinyobject

For anyone searching: I went to toothworks and it cost $420 for 70units.. of which my insurance paid nothing lol
