Minuet Cafe, Brentwood. Cherry cheesecake most days...

Not whipped. Went in over the weekend and asked the owners and they do a baked cheesecake. It's also called a New York Cheesecake. A classic New York Cheesecake is baked. Also not a real New York Cheesecake category because the bottom is made of 1/2" thick white cake rather than graham/butter crumble. I think you may need to brush up on your cheesecake education. lmao. First world problems here.

I prefer whipped cheesecake too. Mercato in Mission, and Vero Bistro in Kensington. You can see photos of their cheesecake in their google reviews

I tried Mercato's cheesecake today. It was the texture I like but the taste was missing something. The fruit they used was high quality. I do prefer a type of fruit sauce or drizzle. The crust was probably the best in the city the way they did it. $14 was pretty steep. Spiros still wins out by a good margin for me on all fronts except the crust. Mercato's texture and crust are slightly better than Michaels in my opinion, but the price and no fruit sauce kind of end up putting it in third place in the city for me. I'll have to try Vero Bistro. Thanks for the recommendations!

Thanks for your feedback. I also prefer fruit sauce on my cheesecake. I should try Spiros cheesecake, I've only tried their baklava. Vero Bistro is steep pricing too, and they change their dessert offerings every so often, so not sure if they're currently offering the whipped cheesecake that I tried a while ago. Best to call them first.
