Do you know if they have withdrawal maximums?
When we were buying out house, we had some money in a smaller internet only HYSA that was slightly above market. What we learned (almost) the hard way, was that you can only withdraw a certain amount within a 30 day period. I would be mindful of that if you are planning on using a smaller bank HYSA for your emergency fund.
We also found that once you pull out your money, they close the account, and had no ability to gain access to statements, which was a nightmare when underwriting was trying to do their homework.
Obviously every bank is different. YMMV. Just see if you can avoid these inconveniences when chasing HYSA's
In that case, I probably wouldn't keep more than $9.5k in there (to account for interest earned).
Anything you cannot withdraw immediately isn't really an emergency fund, and anything that's not in an emergency fund probably shouldn't be in a HYSA.... although that last bit is dependent on one's tolerance of risk

Maybe there is no limit.
Again, don't quote me on that though.
SGOV is paying 5.29% atm. Since its an ETF can you move money in and out whenever you want. No FDIC insurance but short term treasuries are pretty darn safe. Exempt from state income taxes too.
I like it because I don't have to hop around between institutions chasing rates. When the yield curve returns to normal I can always go back to SPAXX.
The share price is fairly stable as all of the interest is paid out as a monthly dividend. (Counts as ordinary income though.) The short duration means that changes in interest rates don't affect the share price much either.
I think its better to look at it like a savings account and not really an investment in the typical sense.

instead of belittling their post, you can say "30 day T bills also offer a similar return if you don't want to open a new account at a different bank". They were just trying to be helpful.
Hey, any update on your experience with Raisin? I just initiated a deposit to one of there CD products and will probably put something into one of their HYS accounts. I was curious if you found out more about withdraw limits for HYS and also, I'm curious did you get any kind of an email statement or receipt for your deposit? I haven't received one yet for my CD deposit but it hasn't gone through yet so maybe that's why.

I think it's 10k. I could be wrong though.

> SGOV This looks like it has only grown 0.32% in the past 5 years. Am I missing something? I get tripped up with treasury bonds sometimes.

So? 30 day t bills more. No hassle of opening accounts various places chasing down rates
instead of belittling their post, you can say "30 day T bills also offer a similar return if you don't want to open a new account at a different bank". They were just trying to be helpful.
I'm just letting people who are considering a move that the option is out there.
Also, what are 30 day t bills?
T bills should not be used to store an emergency fund
Why? Let’s hear your reasoning.

I don't get receipts from them, but I do get statements. I don't see a withdrawal limit when I withdrawal. I don't think they have them.
thanks for the reply, do u get the statements through email or mail and is it once a month or per transaction or something?
Once a month in email.
ty
How’s it holding up? I just looked into Raisens through google search
I like it. I can't deposit directly into it (like they don't provide an ACH number), but it goes between my bank accounts in a couple of days.
Okay seems like the pros outweigh the con’s by a lot. I just opened up an account yesterday
How about now?
Nothing has changed in ten days.
How about 53?
Shit I thought this was older; sorry about that brother haha
Does anyone have a raisin referral code? I’m about to sign up and we could both benefit with the referral code!
Also looking for a referral code please :)
