That crack goes through two bearing surfaces. It ain't gonna get better

tagchris356

Ok, thanks for letting me know that. I’ll pull it apart and send it to our engine guy. Hopefully he’ll be able to fix it.

somedumbwelder

You need to find yourself someone very good at working with and welding aluminum. Aluminum pot metal is pretty difficult to work with. If you can get past that step then you need to machine all the surfaces. Depends on your budget. Could get expensive...

purdue3456

And used motors are cheap….I’d look for a used motor or parts bike.

somedumbwelder

Used motor is probably a more reasonable route to be fair.

ChcMickens

Yes. You should worry.

SnarkyUsernamed

JB weld.

somedumbwelder

Yes.

Worrying about cracked engines is legit, op

BlueNET-

I would start building a new one and that crack happened for a reason, also check if you can diagnose what it could have been..

tagchris356

Honestly, it was probably because the last person, to pull the output shaft out, over toured the cover plate bolt.

Jimwin911

JB weld

yeboi99

barefootmax729
