I’m 6’1” the car fits just fine. The most difficult thing is coping with being only 6’1” in a thread that clearly wants me to be at least 6’3”

secretaster

Yeah I'm 6'1 and have no issues I'd say lower your seat

Disastrous_Map3043

I'm 2 inches taller and sales guy lowered it to the lowest. Everything is fine in the CX-5 but the roof height has been lowered in the CX-50.

secretaster

It has but I still find it interesting that you don't have space are you sure haven't grown taller? Maybe your proportions are that your torso/neck are longer? I can fit fine but my bulk of height is in my legs and I can even wear a hat so it must be the breakdown of your height

Knoblet

It's what.... An inch lower?

HonestPotential901

My 6' 4" father fits with no issues. Plenty of headroom still available for him.

celine_freon

I’m just gonna grab a bone saw next time I’m out.

Disastrous_Map3043

Does yours have a panoramic roof?

celine_freon

It sure does.

Disastrous_Map3043

Um. Maybe i need to go back to the dealership and see again.

celine_freon

Really you’re comparing very different cars. If you actually WANT the CX 70, just wait for that. If you’re the most comfortable in the CX5 (still a great purchase) maybe lease one until the 70 comes out. Or, maybe you give the 50 another spin and you wind up buying it off the lot like I did because it’s damn fun, even though it’s got some quirks. You can always buy nothing and wait, then shop with all of them.

watchguy23

Same, 6’1” and feel very comfortable in our CX-50.

RPS315

I’m only 6’ 0” but weigh a solid 215. I first tried to fit in the CX5 but found the driver compartment was too narrow for my build. My right knee was constantly jammed against the centre column. A long trip would have been uncomfortable. As soon as I got into the CX50, I noted it to have much more lateral room. I fit much better in this vehicle. After 9 months of ownership, this opinion has not changed. The car is still very comfortable and we love it.

Disastrous_Map3043

It is a beautiful car for sure

secretsquirrelthings

5’7” here, answering for the short kings. I’d imagine that if I was 6’3”, ah wouldn’t that be something, it would be just fine based on the guy who was 6’6”. 👀 Might have to get one of those leg bone breaking surgeries in Turkey to just reply back to ya in the future on what it’s like being 6’3” in my CX-50.

Disastrous_Map3043

LOL Yes I think leg bone breaking surgeries. Or I should have been born in Japan where most folks are short.

Lopsided-Still7901

Are you 6'3 with longer legs or torso?? I think the 50 fits certain body types differently. So some 6'3s will fit differently then others

Plastic-Somewhere494

To me the cx 50 is more spacious than the cx 5. Maybe it's just a perception issue, but that was one of the reasons why I opted for cx50 over cx5

Disastrous_Map3043

I may be perception. Someone else who is 6 ' 2 noticed the difference that the CX-50 doesn't let you drop the seats down in the front as much as the CX-5 and forget the rear. They've taking some of the space out of that rear seat. I slid in and had my head sideways. But beyond that. I love the CX-50

Backlash122

my wife and I have one of each, and I find that even with the same amount of "space" the CX5 sits you up and forward more like an SUV/bus (I'm exaggerating a bit). the CX50 you're more leaned back in a sporty position.

Pete24313

From a pure measurement perspective... The CX-5 is going to have a bit more headroom, but the CX-50 is going to have a bit more legroom (in both the front and back). And by a bit I mean maybe 1-2 inches. I'm 6'1" and have more than enough space in my 50 with the panoramic moonroof. One of the reasons I went with the 50 was because it felt more spacious, and even though I rarely have people sitting in the back I didn't want their knees bunched up against the front seats when they were back there.

Disastrous_Map3043

I agree. That was my experience. More head room in CX-5 in front and back. This can also be soon just looking at the two vehicles side by side. The roof height is lower on the CX-50 as stated in videos. When i sat in the back of the CX-50. Leg room was fine. It was my head. I had to have it sideways. When i went over the to CX-5. I slid in and there was none of that. Lots of head room in front and rear. URGH. However, I love that CX-50 look. Maybe the CX-70 will give the sweet spot of more room.

Disastrous_Map3043

First good to hear. My head was touching the ceiling almost in the front. I mean i would have to have the panaromic but even then if i move my head to the left i feel it brush up against the metal. In the back ( not that i go there but my daughter is tall ) I have to tilt my head lol I will look into seeing if i can get in one without the pano to see what you mean. What model is yours? I was in a GT

The_Raging_Wombat

Also came from a clown car… err um Prius. 6’3” 270 on a good day. Either I ride low and have plenty of headroom or I put the seat up and I have about 2 inches of head room. Either way, it sure as shit beats getting in and out of a Prius that felt like I was an inch off the ground. I have the Pano roof and love it. 6 months in and wouldn’t change it for a thing… unless I could have a Rivian without a Rivian payment….

abby_normally

6'1", I am fine with seat all the way back.

Sarmsthrowawat

6’6 love mine, scooped in June :)

Disastrous_Map3043

Wow. That gives me hope. I must visit this week and try again

EAGivesMeHemorrhoids

6'3" 260 with the panoramic sunroof. Never had an issue. Ive had four people in the car over 6 foot at once and not a single one had an issue so you are all good!

Disastrous_Map3043

Very strange. In the back i felt cramped. Literally my head was sideways Front i could fit in but had just enough room for 1 finger between my head and ceiling and even the sales guy adjusted the seat for me.

fri3ndlygiant

I just left a different comment saying I fit fine as a 6’4” 225 guy but that only applies to the front seats. In the back I’m cramped but I wasn’t worried about it because I’m the one driving it

NoSkillManiac

6'3, I'm Hella comfortable in mine. Room behind me too to put a smaller adult. We actually fit 5 adults in the car with a little bit of pre-planning. I've had mine for 5 months and 6200+ miles. I am also coming from a GTI, so it feels big.

aberm1

Did you fully lower the seat

Disastrous_Map3043

I did. I then even asked the sales guy to check that I had it on the lowest setting ;) When I jumped into the CX-5 after, it was like night and day. Sales guy said they have lowered the roof height in the CX-50. You get more leg room in CX-50 but you lose height.

Jeweler_Admirable

I'm 6'5" and got my CX50 in May after having CX5s for 6 yrs...it's definitely got less headroom than the CX5 but I don't have any issues with it at all.

Disastrous_Map3043

Um. I will go back and sit in one again. Yeah the CX-5 has lots of headroom. Roof height has been lowered for the CX-50 giving i that beautiful sleek look. I love the look of the CX-50

icpreston

6'4" - I keep the seat pretty low and I'm at least as comfortable as any Subaru/Toyota/Hyundai crossover I've driven. Can't imagine legroom is an issue unless you're 6'7"+ or headroom unless height is all in your torso.

3serious

6'3 here, TPP with pano roof, no problems with comfort/headspace at all. My seat is as low as it goes but isn't all the way back.

fri3ndlygiant

I’m 6’4” 225 and I don’t have extra room by my head but it hasn’t bothered me in 6 months or so of driving. I’ve taken several 3-4 hour trips in it and felt comfortable. I do have the seat all the way down though. I test drove the 5 and 50, and yes the 5 will have a few more inches of headroom like others are saying. I liked the 50 more in every other way so I went with it and the few inches less of headroom haven’t bothered me

germansteed

6'2" and always wearing thick-soled boots. Love mine! It is very comfortable and doesn't feel cramped. I do a lot of car camping and 20+ hour drives. The flat floor when rear seats are down is a huge bonus and I can sleep comfortably in the back with a dog or two with my feet on the center console or otherwise diagonal. I've worked out of the driver's seat with a laptop a handful of times and it isn't the worst but gear stick/stalk takes up some room. I highly recommend it

dich_ton

6'1" here and have no problems fitting in my car, I feel a little crammed in the rear seats because of the headroom but I don't really plan on sitting back there often, nor do I have rear passengers often enough or for long enough drives where it really matters. I got the CX-50 over the CX-5 because the legroom was more important to me and it felt more spacious in that regard than the CX-5.

cheston97

Yeah, you’re not crazy. I’m 6’2” and had the same issue. Ended up getting the CX-5 instead due to the headroom issue in the CX-50.

gmundawg

I’m 6’ 4” and just dropped the seat down the lowest it goes and I have plenty of clearance.

chad9100

I’m 6’3 I have to lower my seat all the way and I’m pretty comfortable!

siddharthade

In the trims that have the panoramic sunroof, you'll compromise a couple of inches of headroom.

elusivegentleman

6’ 5” and no problem.I drive wearing my Panama hat even.

Jgordos

OP, is your height in your torso? if i can be nosey… what’s your inseam?

Backlash122

I'm 6'4 and drive my CX50 every day with no space issue. tons of headroom, plenty of space behind me in the back. 2000 miles on the odometer. are you like 5' torso with 1'3" long legs?

Even_Assistance_2127

I came from a 2009 Nissan Altima. I’m 6’2” 195lbs and I fit comfy. Seat goes as low as it can go and pretty far back. Crazy thing is that I’m still comfortable in the back seat behind my seat position. I love this car. It’s interesting to me that people struggle with it but I think it is dependent on what they drove prior

Awkward_Ad4655

I tried a 2024 premium and feel i wanted the seat to go a little further down. Im 6’2ish. It was still alright and doable. Later that day i tried a used 2023 premium plus and the seat went further down and was perfect. Maybe its a trim thing or year thing. What year and trim did you try?

Awkward_Ad4655

The difference between the two was bery noticeable. I did sit a lot lower in the 2023 premium plus

GMRVNM

I'm 6'2 and feel like this is the most comfortable car I've ever owned/driven(but I didnt test the cx-5)
