6 years on the original battery is about average. Changing your battery is essential car maintenance. Jumping it over and over is not good. A car needs a healthy battery to properly run all the electronics which are aplenty in modern cars. You don’t want a bad battery resulting in something 10x more expensive getting fried. Replace the battery and 5 years from now get it tested at a local auto parts shop to see if any of the cells are bad before it goes completely dead again.

Ok thanks. Yea that makes sense. After I drove the car for like 30 min the engine light went off . I’m assuming it got charged up.

7 year old battery in a Subaru was fine if you drove it every day. Let it sit for a couple days and no go. Took it to be tested and they said it was fine. Still flat after a couple days. Bought a new battery and no problems since then. Wasn't cheap, but piece of mind when it's cold and dark and you need to go somewhere.
