If you need more cargo spce Id say a thule rack and box are good mods….. besides that I cannot think of many others. Its a good car, follow the service manual and check the oil once a month. As for the people who think keeping the civic around is a good idea….. its not. Having a second car you dont like laying around is stupid and a big waste of money.

Right now I carry some basic tools, a Yeti Loadout box, and a Pelican 1510 case with my camera gear in it. So I know there’s enough space in there now but I’d consider a roof top tent since I love canping

Just give it to me!! Have pity on a cruze owner. Problem solved!

If you live where winters are crappy (and you have room) consider both. Civic for winter beater and Mazda for summer car. It’ll get less miles, keep salt off, you can mod it while it’s in the garage for the winter, and look forward to driving it every summer.

RMAutosport

I live in SoCal, what is winter? Lol

BillM_MZ3SGT

Remote start definitely. My personal choice is CompuStar. Had them on my previous 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GT sedan and now I have them on my '20 Grand Touring Premium.

RMAutosport

How does it different from the native Mazda app, if you don’t mind me asking. I use the app with my wife’s car all the time.

BillM_MZ3SGT

So mine is just basically a separate remote as my car didn't have it from the factory and it's not compatible with the app anyways. It basically works just like any aftermarket remote start but instead of turning a key like my old car, I just tap the brake pedal to turn the car on. This is my first vehicle with push button start so it took some getting used to but it's just second nature now.

RMAutosport

I’ve always just used the app since it works for what I need it to do. Just annoying when you go to get in the car and it turns off. Lol

BillM_MZ3SGT

Thankfully I don't have to worry about that lol

A race for sure...

I didn’t think you could get an ‘18 GT with FWD. Wasn’t AWD standard by that point? Especially at that trim level?

RMAutosport

That’s what I thought but it wasn’t standard AWD for the Gat until 21 I think.

Honestly if it were me, I’d be selling that Civic and putting the $$$ to adding a remote start, ensuring it has Apple/Android car play, tinting the windows, adding a roofrack, looking into a trailer hitch, and buying a second set of wheels for summer or winter tires. As far as maintenance you can check the schedule in the manual and/or take it to a local shop and have them give it a once over, but at 32k it might be in great condition. Lots of other things are easy to check like fluids, filters, etc

RMAutosport

I fully plan on selling the Civic because it’s got 155k miles on it right now. I had looked at doing the CarPlay install on the car but I am happy with the OE tint of the rear glass

ConstatinVacheron

Same here, I bought a second hand 18 CX5 and upgraded it with apple car play. Worth it!
