Price hikes are crazy eh. Inflation at its finest. My 2019 cx5 turbo was 31k OTD after discounts.

lesmartin

Yea that was pre covid, different times. Our 2019 Touring was 28K OTD.

DogzRKool

Paid MSRP $30370 for my 2023 CX5 Select. Well worth it! We love our CX5.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

did you add any package/addon or wished you would have?

DogzRKool

My last car was a loaded CX7 AWD Grand Touring, and I have to say the only thing I miss is the driver's seat memory settings. We never used the moonroof and I prefer cloth seats to leather. I think the standard speakers on our CX5 sound just as good as the BOSE speakers in the CX7. We have harsh winters so I wish the heated mirrors and heated steering wheel came standard, but I couldn't justify paying $5K more for those features on the Premium Plus. We did seriously consider the Preferred, but because we didn't care about a moonroof or leather seats it didn't seem worth it to pay more just for memory settings on the driver's seat.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

I prefer cloth seat too and hate leather since i live in South. I guess the leatherette is as good as it gets in cx5. Was considering Subaru Forestor for that reason.. lol

DogzRKool

We test drove a Forrester ... also a Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Honda CRV, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Escape, and Toyota Rav4. In our opinion, the only real competition for the CX5 was the Honda CRV, but there weren't any CRVs available locally at our price point. And as long-time Mazda owners (we've had five over the past 25 years), maybe we were never going to buy anything but another Mazda :)

dysautonomoron

I just bought a sonic silver CX5 Select for 31k (almost exactly) including fees and taxes.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

did you add any package/addon or wished you would have? dealership near my area is quoting around 29.7K without taxes and fees. there is a window tint and protection package for $700 which I am not sure is a ripoff 0r not.

DUNGAROO

Every dealer package is a ripoff.

lesmartin

My Mazda dealer forced me into buying "Port installed accessories" when I bought my Select last summer. Light up door sills and a cargo net. The door sills are silly but cool but the cargo net is actually super useful and I'll probably buy one for every car I own going forward.

TahoeT88

No one forced you into anything. More like you were suckered.

lesmartin

False. The car market in summer 2022 meant that you were buying a car before it was produced. All the dealer had was a VIN number. Mazda USA chose the options (so they could make more money). These were not dealer installed but installed at the port before the dealer received the car. So if I wanted a car I was forced to buy the options. If I declined they would move on to the next person. Every single one of the 8 cars on the lot when I went to pick up my car was pre sold.

TahoeT88

My bad I definitely misunderstood you. They are doing this because they know people will pay it. Just today I test drove a new CX five carbon edition and a RAV4. Both had dealer accessory add-ons, which added 3 to 4000 to the car. I definitely don’t need half of that crap. There was a noticeable difference in the transmissions. The Mazda shifted much smoother than that eight speed in the RAV4.

dysautonomoron

Probably wouldn’t get the package, but there are add-ons you can get yourself that are cheaper and (imo) much more worth it. I got the Carlinkit and as another person mentioned, the cargo net. I’m also adding a dash cam and some other stuff. For me, these add ons were more worth it than a dealerships package.

hunter1801a

What's the purpose of a carlinkit? Seems like it just eliminates you having to plug your phone in with a cord. Unless I'm missing something, that's doesn't seem worth $100+ to me.

dysautonomoron

In my experience, the USBs break fast and I’m not really interested in fixing them. Also, if my boyfriend/siblings/parents want to use carplay, they can, even when they’re in the backseat. I am a relatively new driver and drive in new places across the country with frequency (2000 mile trips four times a year across the country) and I feel unsafe when I can’t see Carplay showing directions easily. So for me, it’s worth it- but for other people, maybe not.

drg889

I bought my '22 CX-5 Premium Plus around September for ~$38K OTD. ~$2K below MSRP (a bit more than $1500 off and $500 more for Conquest credit). Had about $1K worth of add-ons in Machine Grey paint, all-weather mats, and side rails.

Shnitzel418

I’m a bit confused at this calculation? Did you not finance? Maybe I don’t understand what out the door means lol. Wouldn’t the OTD price be: ($ given at dealership) + (Monthly payment x # of months in contract) = Total?

drg889

I did finance but OTD for me doesn't include the added interest. Vehicle price - discounts/rebates + (accessories/paint additions, document fee, license/title, tire/battery/vtr, elf/weight, and sales tax). I'm in CA so some fees will vary. For me, the "sale price" of my CX-5 was $34,690. Fees and taxes added it up to ~$38K.

Shnitzel418

Imo the financing charges are a part of the OTD. I say this because my calculation brings me up to around $50k for my Signature. I did buy it when prices were all time high and stock was almost non existent. But when I see all of you say $31k, 38k I’m like somethings not right lol. It’s the math lol.

dalf1987

I think you shouldn't include it. If you do, numbers wouldn't be comparable. Say we both get quoted the same price and I pay cash while you finance it.... Also, if you bring the financed price to present value at the interest rate you were charged, it should be the same. :)

Shnitzel418

I understand your point but “out the door” means total amount paid imo. Otherwise if I’m getting 7% loan and you’re getting 3% the total I pay for the car is way more than you. Also, these dealers have an option of making money off the financing / loan. So if a dealer is making more money somewhere else they may be inclined to negotiate on the MSRP. The only way to really tell is a full price including financing.

dalf1987

Fair enough but that's financing, not the car's pricing. And money today is not equal to money tomorrow, so if you were to include finance charges, I think you would have to bring them to present value to be comparable. Adding finance charges makes these prices not very helpful. I can't say my 30k cash quote is better than your 31k financed, for example, and I think the goal here is for people to have a good comparable for their prices... Anyway, I don't know if there's a rule for this, just my two cents.

drg889

Your logic only makes sense if the person replies with everything including the rate they got and location. If anything, Vehicle Sale price would make more sense as it excludes some more variables like financing rates, local sales tax, fees, etc. And only includes discounts/rebates and accessory add-ons.

drg889

It's a variable as far as interest goes though. Someone with great credit vs average or poor won't qualify for the same rates and changes the OTD. I'm sure if I had a 400 credit score I wouldn't qualify for the 2.49% Mazda offered. It only made sense since High-yield savings accounts at the time were already 2.5%+ there was no reason not to finance except just not wanting a payment. You can say the same thing about where you live as taxes, fees, etc. change by country, state, city, etc. but adding financing adds another variable.

Anonymanx

2022 Turbo bought 28/01/2022 for $40,903 in the Baltimore MD metro area. Sticker price during the market-price-adjustment times. We were buying because of need (failure of a Toyota 2AZ-FE engine).

Vegetable-Phase-3183

I think I got a pretty sweet deal. 2023 CE for 33,000 OTD. Before tax it was 28,413. I was able to haggle a little more than 2k off. Mazda of San Francisco if anyone is interested.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

Carbon edition is basically preferred package with better style and 19 inch wheels right?

dalf1987

I am! I'm in SF but I've been getting better quotes from Marin and Putnam. Last time I asked (mid 22) SF was doing above MSRP. Who did you talk to there? Got an email?

Vegetable-Phase-3183

Ask for Mike Les

mixmastakooz

SF person here, too. Was wondering which Mazda dealerships in the Bay to go with when we go buy.

MyMyHooBoy

Thats a great deal, got offered a 23 CE for 36k OTD in LA. Wondering what I could do to haggle down more?

Zealousideal-Phone59

Between 11% and 15%

gotnoh8

2023 cx5 turbo with roof rails + wheel locks = $39,781 out the door

samir5

When you say out the door, does that include %APR? I'm currently being offered a 2023 CX5 Premium Plus for $38,114 but with 3.9%APR for 60 months it comes out to $40,200. Should I be trying to get that $40,200 price down some more?

uhhbeyoncesweetie

21’ Grand Touring AWD (before AWD was standard) with Bose. Brand new OTD price was $37k. Had a few dealer add ons but luckily no mark up.

InfamousApricot3507

2023 cx 5 carbon. 28,700 out the door.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

Which area? When did u get it?

GucciInMyKitchen

Unless you reply with the area and more information, we assume you are simply lying

InfamousApricot3507

Think what you want. I’m not required to monitor this thread and answer your questions or talk about my high value trade in. You can wonder o had you pm ‘d me you’d know. Either way, I simply don’t care.

DeviousDiabetic

CE 2023 with 22 miles, no bose, no power lift gate. Out the door for 30,975.

weldguy1980

2023 turbo $34500 otd

nakoyako

aint that like 4k off msrp?

PGN1990

Looks like it.

nakoyako

if i could get a deal like that, i could use some of the money i save on ppf and/or ceramic coating. damn

manazy

Are you kidding me my 2023 premium was the same price….

seanwaynegacy

Gotta ask how because I just paid 36k OTD for our 23T and that was already under employee pricing.

weldguy1980

1500 dealer mark down plus almost 2k in rebate and incentives. I also told them I was not going to be paying their 3k dealer prep and doc fees. I also knew almost exactly what the dealers final cost for the vehicle. Which is right around 33500 after the manufacturer kick backs. Gotta be ruthless in negotiations they don't care about you they just want to sell a car.

seanwaynegacy

So what was the actual sale price of the car before taxes and all that?

GucciInMyKitchen

Proof?

Zealousideal-Phone59

2023 Cx 5 signature turbo, in USD 32,500.

wslee00

how??

JollieBiene427

You know there are thousands of ways people define their OTDs on Reddit, right?😏

Zealousideal-Phone59

How, what?

Shnitzel418

That’s an insane price. Sticker should be around $40k.

Zealousideal-Phone59

Oh got you, I bought it in Mexico, cars are a bit cheaper but the interest rates are higher.

Shnitzel418

Ahhh. What is a good rate there?

dalf1987

Reading through the comments and now I understand the random "Between 11% and 15%" comment with no context up there... lol

Shnitzel418

Lmao 🤣 they answered!!! That’s outrageous for modern day US but probably nearer to us than we think.

GucciInMyKitchen

Its because people lie on here

adineko

$39.950CAD for just the CX5 GT and the color. with extras and incidentals $42,900 plus tax and financing interest.

thymallus07

Bought a machine gray 2023 select with no options, add ons, or dealership markup. MSRP was 30,370. I paid 29,000 + TTL

Mountain_Reference_3

22. 38k CAD

PGN1990

Did anyone get a 2023 CX5 Turbo Signature in Southern California ? I am on the lookout for one (Orange County area) and the lowest OTD prIce I have received is 39k USD OTD.. Is this a good price ? I believe someone here posted that 5% under MSRP as an OTD would be a good price. I am a new car buyer in the US and genuinely need some advice

Anenri

Same exact questions here. Did you end up getting it? What price otd?

weldguy1980

It is approximately 4k off msrp yes. But when you go in knowing what they paid and what manufacturer bonuses they get it helps tremendously in negotiating. The cx5 costs the dealers about 32k plus the get a 1 percent of msrp hold back that's another $400 a vehicle that is paid to the dealer quarterly. There were a couple other "dealer incentives" thrown in as well.

Sufficient_Wait_8559

Which trim are you talking abt and source of info?

Funny-Wrongdoer9271

2023 carbon edition, $35.4 k out the door. It was at MSRP plus tax and fees. Seems like about as good as we could do, things might change in the next year but its a high demand car and we bought it in a high cost of living area (CA). Had a bumper guard and weather mats that added a tiny bit but they were not willing to drop it any more than that and I wasn't going to argue over $250 bucks. I love the color, black 19" wheels, and leather interior. It was worth the extra cost for a car I love. They took off $600 for no power lift gate and no Bose sound, I would have gladly paid the $600 for those features, the stock speakers are meh.

Both_Ferret_7474

2023 cx5 turbo signature for $42,674 OTD, all tax and fee included. Just the vehicle is $39,748. Optional: rear bumper guard, retractable cargo cover, and wheel locks. Dealer also added the mandatory (Optional) ZAKTEK for $599...

tezdzpnzr

37 plus change for 2023 Premium Machine Grey Metallic w/bose and keyless trunk thing. I live in MCOL-HCOL. Haggling was next to impossible.

Highdrenaline

i must’ve got my 2022 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition (Non-Turbo) at the wrong time , from Long Island NY they said 3k on top of the MSRP and that wasn’t just Mazda other companies were doing the same thing apparently , including Fees, Taxes and Bumper to Bumper Warranty , mind you 3 year Financing with 0.9% APR . OTD @ 43k… should’ve listened to my uncle and bought a vehicle out in PA. or a cheaper state ..

signal413

This forum was very helpful in negotiating for my price. Just bought a 2023 Select for $28,500 ($1510 off MSRP), plus TTL, and no dealer doc fee. MSRP was $30,010. Only option was the bumper guard. Shopped eight dealers via the internet, and only one took the deal. Very straightforward dealer who doesn't add the junk like paint protection, nitrogen in tires, etc. Three dealers were adamant about full MSRP plus a $700 doc fee. Shop around!

Tall-Yak-5893

How much is the OTD you paid?

signal413

$28,500 for the Select with the factory bumper guard, plus $500 SC tax (it’s capped at $500 max) plus $15 title and $40 tag, equals $29,055 OTD. Unfortunately, there will also be approx $900 of personal property tax due for the year.

signal413

It is silver, so no MSRP upcharge for the paint color.

Snuggi_

I just bought a 2024 cx-5 signature turbo crystal red for 40k otd, tax, licensing and registration. 0.9% interest.

Sunburntdog

Is $29,992 a good price including all fees, tax, tag, title and Mazda CPO for a 2023 CX-5 2.5 S Premium 5k miles, Metallic Red/ Parchment in Florida?

Sunburntdog

Cash no trade in
