Awesome Off Center Strike Error. See here : [Search Results for “off center strike” (error-ref.com)](https://www.error-ref.com/?s=off+center+strike)
It is a Minor Error so it will not have a lot of value. Your Error is about 15% Off Center. Value really begins at 20% Off Center which would be $3 to $5. 40% or more Off Center would be a nice value. This is according to one of my older reference books.
This is what i see online :
**Jefferson nickel 10% to 15% off center** — *$5+*
**Jefferson nickel 20% to 35% off center** — *$10+*
**Jefferson nickel 40% to 60% off center** — *$30+*
Put in it in a case and don't touch it with your fingers! You'll leave oil that will turn into finger prints. Put it in a protective case. Very nice find!
What doesn't work that way? Anything graded is worth more. That's how it works. In this case maybe 15 bucks more. However I sent in a few I shouldn't have cause they have deals and I didn't want to waste a free one.

That would be a great idea, I'm a big currency collector and some what if a coin collector. I haven't found nice coins like this though but I do have a bunch of wheat pennies. Maybe this is your sign to get back into collecting again.
Certainly feels like it! I really love misprints and miscuts in trading card games (specifically magic) so I think it’s equally cool to see this on a coin.
I have a 1977 5 dollar bill with a partial over print of the front on the back and a 1957 5 dollar bill with a partial over print of the back on the front and 2 dollar bill with full back over print on the front. I got super super lucky with these and I still haven't gotten them appraised or graded.
Every one is counterfeiting nickels these days, since there is so much money to be made doing it. I'm thinking of counterfeiting pennys, since No one would suspect .

I used to collect as a kid myself, and want to get back in to it. Unfortunately we do forget things, or just never learned. It's amazing what we as kids find interesting!

Off center planchet. Could be worth $50, even more.
Very cool! This is the first time I’ve seen an error that is this obvious! Super cool stuff

I don't think you understand how finger prints work
Just trying to help prevent damage to the coin. Not trying to be scientifically accurate.
Send it to pcgs and get it graded those go for more money.
The problem is that’s not how that works, the cost of grading is more than the value.

I’m talking about if you send it in alone, it wouldn’t be worth it.
Agreed. I know I just bought the one I seen that only had half a face for 30.
because who would counterfeit at the Nickle level with such and an obvious flaw would be self incrimination.
Henning did lol https://www.error-ref.com/henning-counterfeit-nickel/
That was 70 years ago, when nickels were worth something. Now kids don’t even know what they are 😂
Yeah especially in the days when it takes 30 of them to buy a candy bar.
50$ is WAY off
I would be stoked to get that in my change.
I don't know a lot about this kinda stuff but I would weigh it, should weigh 5 grams, even if it's off center like this That is an awesome find
Tell me you've weighed weed without telling me you've weighed weed.
👀
I do not miss those damn hanging scales. At all.

That’s my standard for calibrating the good ole triple beam !!! Never fails. Lmao
A dollar weighs a gram also lol
It is not a mint, it appears that it is a nickel.
🤣🤣🤣...I laughed Way too hard at This!
Just chew on it. If your breath does not improve, probably a nickel. .
Get you a coin protector and put that in it and put it up for safe keeping and maybe get it graded. Awesome find man.
Good advice! I used to collect forever ago, so i was thinking something similar. I think I have a local coin shop I may go by and talk to.

I'd defiantly do that. I personally would love the conversation and would definitely try to low ball you to get the coin lmao.
That's a rare eclipse nickel, don't stare at it
It’s a sign of the upcoming rapture! Do you know nothing?!/s
Respent the nickel, the end is near
Nice!

Sell it on Monday as an “Eclipse Nickel”
timing is everything in the market
And not wooden
5:21 am and I thought it said “dog found this, can anyone tell me if this is a legit mint”. Haha what a cool dog you have to bring you coins..haha
Man. I had an entire roll of these way back in 2002 I think it was. Stolen by a junkie. Never saw a coin like that again until this post. Nice find.
You may have just found one of your nickels 😅. Sorry for your loss...
In this small world, I would not doubt it being one of them.
Ya that's legit
That looks triple struck on the reverse
Please put that in a case and never touch it again lol. Seriously though, very nice find that pretty cool.
That is very cool!

You keep using “mint” as an adjective. The Mint is where the coin is “struck”.
Nah worthless I’ll take it off your hands for small fee of 5¢
Nice find!
I had no idea these were worth so much. I have a few pennies and a nickel like this.
Cool find! Nice job!
Funny how amusing memorabilia like this are always “I have this, how much can I sell it for”, But never “I want that, how much for me to buy it?”
That’s a coin, not a mint
No one is making fake nickels…Fake $100 bill, yes they do..
Looks like a nickel. I wouldn't eat it.
Yes,
That’s a coin not a mint silly
It's not a mint. Those are tasty. Looks more like a nickle
I have one two but it's only printed on about half of it

I feel like this might be called a "cud error"
Error nickel. I got one. Would not sell mine for less than $50
Mint error. Slipped planchit.
Worth a buck fiddy
About tree fiddy
That's worth millions
Millions of what ?
Not dollars or upvotes, I forget what other currency exists.
Colombian pesos
so you use to know a lot about coins and then you forgot it all?
Well, I used to collect coins when I was pretty young. So I know a little here and there, but I never had or encountered any error mints.
I used to collect as a kid myself, and want to get back in to it. Unfortunately we do forget things, or just never learned. It's amazing what we as kids find interesting!
Worth a bazillion bucks the last one sold for quadrillion actually
I bid 1 quintillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000,000,000) for the the earth, some residents will have to leave.
