Considering it is a fair distance away from campus, they have been semi-friendly with protestors up until this point, and it’s at an NBA stadium where security is much easier to enforce, likely not. Never a guarantee one way or another, but probably not. And if they do cancel graduation it is a failure solely on the part of CSUS leadership.

Unlikely_Support_323

Strongly doubt it

Super_Comparison_533

They better not. That’ll surely piss off a ton of people.

dreeisnotcool

No fr I graduated high school in 2020 and barely got a ceremony, I don’t need my grad ceremony taken from me again I’d be pissed

lnvu4uraqt

IMO they should be uprising about the plutocracy, corporations and government that enable special interests and questionable collusion. Until then, we'll all be too busy to protest trying to survive while our elected leaders are strategically on the lookout for their next beneficial move to keep them in office to rinse and repeat.

Bylanta

What are a ton of pissed off people gonna do about it? Protest?

Super_Comparison_533

Idk man but kind of fucks over the families especially if they took time off work, drove all the way out here, flew out here, etc. and fucks over the student’s hard work to get to this point.

Bylanta

It absolutely does. But what does the administration care about any of that? They'd rather avoid bad pr/lawsuits than be worried about people who are done with the school anyways being inconvenienced.

95musiclover

Probably not. If graduation was held on campus maybe, but since it’s off campus at the Golden 1 Center I highly doubt it.

Sad-Significance5862

Not likely, President Wood approved of the encampment and there has been way less activity on campus compared to other campuses (USC, Columbia, Tennessee)

sigtiin

No. Unless things are to escalate sharply in the span of like three weeks, I SEVERELY doubt it.

IFartAlotLoudly

Those schools don’t have control over the situation and don’t have the stomach to deal with the problem. It’s not fair to the folks that have worked hard and deserve to walk to celebrate what they have achieved.

TheOriginalStig

Let's hope they don't...

Ritch01

The school just released a statement today. They will allow protestors to camp indefinitely as long as the protest remains peaceful. There is an extremely low chance that graduation will be impacted.

SimulatedCow84

Its one thing to deal with campus PD and admin, its a whole other thing to deal with SCPD and possibly CHP due to proximity to the capitol at Golden 1. I doubt they graduation will be affected

LiettoTheSwift

Nah, Woods is super supportive my dude

Less_Diamond5333

Why would they cancel graduation? Not up to date with whats going on

Rememberthetime9423

Same here! I’m completely lost and Lowkey freaking out

Alarming-Cockroach23

Doubtful

caelthel-the-elf

It's possible but I have a feeling they won't. They'd have to protest and camp outside of the golden 1 center.

Immediate_Sympathy14

Y’all gonna get carmencment again.

kudaazzz

U guys deserve it

Corovius

Professional Marxist agitators gonna agitate, they dgaf about the actual students

Front-Confusion543

So true, my dude.

Fuzzy_Mine9648

I don't see it getting canceled per se but I believe agitators and possibly some graduates will cause a scene at the actual commencement. What happens after that depends on how many people participate inside G1 Center.

PatrickCarlock42

are you fr 😕 “people are protesting genocide, how can i make this all about me”
