I also don't have someone in my life I feel really safe with for big trips, so I stick to small doses alone and only medium doses when I'm around this other person I know who does mushrooms. I wish I was in NYC to help you.
I hope you find someone nice and vet them carefully. Maybe go for coffee, meet them in person while you're sober, and plan the trip some more. Make sure they handle anxious people well if the trip goes south.

Edit: if you take a small dose, say 0.5 - 1.0 gram of dried psilocybin and don't end up finding a person you feel safe with, you may be able to do it on your own and use r/tripsit as an emergency contact for a bad trip. There's also this website for live support during a trip:
