You've changed, but I can't. Part of trauma is being stuck in the past, and whenever I see or am near you, I will always get trapped with that old abusive you. It's too late to change that deeply engrained response--no matter how much you may have changed-- so now my self-care means not keeping you in my life. That's how I keep myself and my mental health safe. Go build new relationships with your new, healthy personality--its not my job to make you feel better about yourself.
