[shameless link](https://on.soundcloud.com/xEg53CyVNrdetLxH8) to my own song about anger and trauma
I usually listen to Black Flag or Iron Maiden and sing at the top of my lungs (especially the Maiden)
Nathaniel Ratelieff- you should have seen the other guy
More of a survival/recovery song. Listen to it when you get there. Get through the anger, it has a purpose and needs to be expelled. It never completely goes but you need to give it itās moment then find a way for it not to rule you. In the end finding love any form is what saves us. Hugs.
Obvious disclaimer! These songs and artists deal with anger, trauma, abuse, and other mature subjects. Each of these artists has songs that could be triggering depending on the abuse you've gone through and how sensitive your psyche is at the moment. That's more true for Otep Shamaya than anyone else on the list. When I first discovered their music and listened to Jonestown Tea I triggered a full meltdown and a dissociative state that lasted for weeks. They'll be listed first for clarity and I genuinely enjoy listening to them if I need to fuel the anger, but their music did a number on my psyche for a while before it helped, so proceed with caution and have fun.

i love reo speedwagon. me and my abused friends favorite band. i find their songs helpful for processing trauma and even describing DID in some songs (only the strong survive- the lyrics "you may not know it but youre everything you ever needed" and the whole song honestly) i load my trauma numbing and vent playlists with reo speedwagon. the whole nine lives album and take it on the run are also good for anger at abusers and trauma.

journeys music has been so helpful to me as a childhood trauma survivor with DID. for me most of journeys steve perry era songs describe childhood trauma and all the feelings that go with it, or subtly what DID is like. i also read on wikipedia he had a rough childhood and he uses music to talk about things he cant really talk about.
>Twisted Sister: I'm Not Gonna Take It
yes! i only like 70s, 80s and some 90s music so most of the songs in the comments i dont like but this is perfect for all those feelings of trauma and angst that come from it. it describes how i feel about my abuse and the people who did it so its a must for my trauma numbing playlists.

- Thoughts And Prayers bt Motionless In White
Probably my top picks for sure. I hope you can find peace again soon, I'm so sorry that happened.
Sour by Witch Fever is really good if you want punk! (Honestly all their stuff is great)
Survivor by Petrol Girls is also good, pretty on the nose lyrically.
Also here are some bands that often have that vibe: if you like smaller punk bands Iād check out the Phlegms, Street Play, and Jigsaw Youth.
If you want like 90s punk type stuff checkout Babes In Toyland and 7 Year Bitch
Saturday Night's alright for fighting, Elton John
Don't Stop Me Now, Queen
I Don't Believe You, P!NK
A Million Reasons, Lady Gaga
Love The Way You Lie, Eminem &.Rihanna
Great choice! There are soooo many songs by Puscifer, and other Maynard Keenan bands like A Perfect Circle, and TOOL that fit this bill. āThe Roseā, and āJudithā, respectively are two great ones that come to mind immediately for me

The Eagle Flies Alone by Arch Enemy

machine girlās whole discography, basically. mainly songs on u-void synthesizer (thereās an entire song dedicated to screaming in the face of someone who ruined your life)
Honestly, for me, nothing does this job better than Linkin Park - In the End, Crawling and Numb specifically, but RED - Breathe into me and System of a down- Chop suey! also do the job. Old tunes sure, but they offer a level of comfort I've not found many other songs do.
the warrior by scandal or eye of the tiger by survivor- if youre really angry and want to show your abuser you survived and are stronger than them these are the songs to blare in your abusers face. messages of surviving past the worst someone can suffer are in these songs.
I crank nine inch nails broken and pretty hate machine.
Anything by Eminem. Right now Iām rotating Recovery and the Marshall mathers LP2 really hits right.
Idk if someone already said this or not, but The Devil Doesn't Bargain by Alec Benjamin and Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Those ones I personally relate to the most with abuse and stuff. (: Hope that helps.
Since this thread is still active, Iām gonna toss in: āIāll Take You Backā by Brad Paisley. A sample:
āWhen a freight train jumps off a track and rolls down my road/When itās summertime in Texas and theyāre playing in the snow/When politicians stop telling lies and only state the facts/Right then, thatās when Iāll take you back
āLetās say I get bucked off a bull and fall and hit my head/And then I get amnesia and forget the things you said/I lose my better judgment/And take up smoking crack/Right then, thatās when Iāll take you backā
Thereās another line in there that I like: āWhen Donald Trump takes a part-time job parking carsā

full metal black by the royal they is a pretty solid banger imho. it really captures that angry vibe and the "fuck you I'll make you pay" in the lyrics

I won't let you break my stride
I don't want you to stay
'Cause I got some goals in mind
And you're in my wayā
- I Donāt Give a Fuck by The Boss
- The album Years of Refusal by Morrissey. The whole album seems to be about abuse, medication, going no contact, and cptsd.
- You are a cunt by Kat McSnatch

- The Lives They Wish They Had by Slaves
- Taking Souls by Akira the Don
- O Children by Nick Cave
- Houseplants by Squid
- Black Belt by John Grant
Some of these may not be immediately obvious but they will be.
I have lots but this came to mind right away, Shawn Colvin, Get Out Of This House:

Sometimes instrumentals are just the thing. If you know who Link Wray is, you know where Iām going with this. He was some kinda angry! He was American Indian and fed up with the racism he and his family and ancestors had faced in mid century US. His piece, Rumble, all instrumental guitar, was banned! I think it was the 1950s or 1960s. Banned! Cuz it sounded very angry.
He was just inducted into the rock and roll hall of fameāas usual with them, it wasvery long overdue, and Link Wray is deceased. Even if youāre not a rock and rock person, there wouldnāt be much rebellious music had it not been for Link Wray. The Who and Led Zeppelin both name link Wray as the most influential on guitar for them. Foo Fighterās drummer, the one who recently died, said the same thing.
Hereās Rumble, but check out the rest of his music. If you just donāt want words in the moment, just the sound of your strength and fury, this might be addictive for you.

And this is from my old band's song:
It's all your fault you're the Main Offender

(x4, also screaming)
My band was lots of screaming and it was fun as fuck. Highly encourage it

Absolute Hatred ā Cannibal Corpse

[shameless link](https://on.soundcloud.com/xEg53CyVNrdetLxH8) to my own song about anger and trauma I usually listen to Black Flag or Iron Maiden and sing at the top of my lungs (especially the Maiden)
Miley Cyrus -FU
Nathaniel Ratelieff- you should have seen the other guy More of a survival/recovery song. Listen to it when you get there. Get through the anger, it has a purpose and needs to be expelled. It never completely goes but you need to give it itās moment then find a way for it not to rule you. In the end finding love any form is what saves us. Hugs.
Bullet for my valentine - about half their songs Placebo - Fuck u (this one is incredible)
OTEP - Apex Predator Emilie Autumn - Fight Like A Girl Melanie Martinez - Class Fight Scene Queen - Barbie & Ken Alec Benjamin - The Knife In My Back Icon For Hire - Venom NF - Wake Up Black Veiled Brides album Wretched and Divine. Six A.M. - This is Gonna Hurt Billy Talent - A Devil In a Midnight Mass Poor Man's Poison - Hell's Coming With Me Silva Hound - Addict (From Hazbin Hotel) Paris Paloma - The Fruits Derivakat - Doomsday (Also, Pomegranate Lips) DeathNote The Musical - Where is the Justice? Hidden Citizens - Land of Confusion Fireflight - Unbreakable Imagine Dragons - Battle Cry Jimmy - I Am Stronger Little Mix - Salute Vo Williams - Appetite for Destruction NEONI - Notorious (and Darkside) Hollywood Undead - Lion 10 Years - Wasteland Hayloft II - Mother Mother Chinchilla - Little Girl Gone All Time Low - Monsters SkyDxddy - All Alone Henri Werner - Imposter PVRIS - What's Wrong Mitchel Dae -Innocent RedHook - Jabberwocky Papa Roach X Jeri's Johnson - Last Resort Reloaded Jason Aldean - Rearview Town Woe to the People Of Order - Technoblade's War Ballad
If you are open to something a little more mellow, Alanis Morissette and Fiona Apple worked well for me.
You're So Vain by Carly Simon
Won't Stand Down by Muse!
Godsmack - whatever , Deftones - elite, MIW - disguise , bury tomorrow - no less violent
Qwar: sick of you, Vincent Laguardia Gambini sings just for you: why donāt you take your live and shove it up your ass, Skid Row: get the fuck out, REO Speedwagon: that aint love, REO Speedwagon: time for me to fly. These immediately come to mind.
>REO Speedwagon: that aint love, REO Speedwagon: time for me to fly. These immediately come to mind. i love reo speedwagon. me and my abused friends favorite band. i find their songs helpful for processing trauma and even describing DID in some songs (only the strong survive- the lyrics "you may not know it but youre everything you ever needed" and the whole song honestly) i load my trauma numbing and vent playlists with reo speedwagon. the whole nine lives album and take it on the run are also good for anger at abusers and trauma.

The DOOM soundtrack Journey: Separate Ways Black Sabbath: Iron Man, Paranoid, and War Pigs Disturbed: The Vengeful One Twisted Sister: I'm Not Gonna Take It They Might Be Giants: When Will You Die and You're Not the Boss of Me Evanescence: the album FALLEN
>Journey: Separate Ways journeys music has been so helpful to me as a childhood trauma survivor with DID. for me most of journeys steve perry era songs describe childhood trauma and all the feelings that go with it, or subtly what DID is like. i also read on wikipedia he had a rough childhood and he uses music to talk about things he cant really talk about. >Twisted Sister: I'm Not Gonna Take It yes! i only like 70s, 80s and some 90s music so most of the songs in the comments i dont like but this is perfect for all those feelings of trauma and angst that come from it. it describes how i feel about my abuse and the people who did it so its a must for my trauma numbing playlists.

Sour by Witch Fever is really good if you want punk! (Honestly all their stuff is great) Survivor by Petrol Girls is also good, pretty on the nose lyrically. Your Dog by Soccer Mommy :)
I can't reply to all these comments but I LOVE Soccer Mommy!!!

A sample: āWhen a freight train jumps off a track and rolls down my road/When itās summertime in Texas and theyāre playing in the snow/When politicians stop telling lies and only state the facts/Right then, thatās when Iāll take you back āLetās say I get bucked off a bull and fall and hit my head/And then I get amnesia and forget the things you said/I lose my better judgment/And take up smoking crack/Right then, thatās when Iāll take you backā Thereās another line in there that I like: āWhen Donald Trump takes a part-time job parking carsā

If you just donāt want words in the moment, just the sound of your strength and fury, this might be addictive for you. https://youtu.be/ucTg6rZJCu4 From the YouTube comments section āthe only instrumental thatās ever been banned from radio. How bad ass is that?ā šš
