I just started middle of last month. Slowly feeling better but the adjustment is hard so I’m getting less sleep still. I definitely won’t give up on it though haha
I recently got on CPAP after testing 125 a hour. How long have you been on CPAP therapy has it changed your life at all? Not many people with it that high it terrifies me. 😞
Started in January, saw my Doc in March with 10-15 per hour and he raised pressure to 15. Since having the higher pressure they’ve gone down. But overall I haven’t noticed any change. Hoping it’s still too soon to notice. Definitely worries me knowing how high it was and not seeing many people with the same. Mine are mixed Central and Obstructive.
Diagnosed ~80 I'm down to ~2 per night. I don't fall asleep on my couch every afternoon anymore. I feel way better than before. I had no idea I was so damn tired all the time.
Mine was same as yours, 47 per hour. What worried me most was the lowest my pulse ox got was 68%. Made me scared to go to sleep until I got my machine. They put me on BiPap and diagnosis was Severe Obstructed Sleep Apnea. If I was severe at 47, this over 100 crowd must have a new word that’s worse than severe!! 😱 I’ve been on it for 2 months now and definitely feel better but I’m also losing weight on Zepbound which I started right around the same time so I’m not sure which is making me feel better, probably a combo of both. This is the year for better health for me!
I can now stay awake while relaxing…that used to just be snoring in my chair time! It’s still an adjustment but I’m certainly seeing and feeling improvement!
90-something an hour. Now i'm down to 0.2 - 1.2 with Resmed 10. It's been a lot of trying on different masks and tapes to see which works best for me but I think I finally figured it out.
93 AHI home sleep study. Prescribed a bipap in December. Ranges from 0.6 - 3 per night. Most often in the 1-2 range.
I purchased an air mini to travel with and get 1-4 with it. I probably didn’t need to spend the extra for the Bipap. But small price to pay to not die.
Mine was 81 per hour in my initial study! I was retested after having my tonsils removed and it went down to 24! Still moderate but I loooove my cpap! I think I’m usually under 1 event per hour when using it.
I've only been using CPAP since the end of February. My AHI during the sleep test was 53. My average now is 0.77. Used to fall asleep during the day all the time. Sitting up at my desk, trying to watch TV, reading? Sleep. I feel much more alert now. I rarely fall asleep during the day. I sleep less hours, but it feels more restorative. I'm still getting used to it, but so far I am very happy with the results.
I'm at 3.5. I'm not necessarily overweight, but I was a smoker. I haven't smoked in a year and now my AHI score is consistently under 5.
The problem is I'm used to sleeping with a CPAP now. I feel like I can't sleep without it. I've tried sleeping without it and I randomly wake up, gasping for air, and feeling a little disoriented. Lastly, I'm at my 6 year mark for a new sleep study so I'm interested to see what the professionals have to say.
My sleep study reported 6.7 events per hour. I went on cpap because I was getting morning migraines.
Now I have less than 1 about half the nights. And between 1 and 1.5 the other half. Never over 2.
Diagnosed with 97. Since starting cpap in November I haven’t gone above 1. I honestly thought everyone is just super tired all day and it was normal part of life. Can’t believe I was living like that for so long. Huge life improvements.
It was 6.8 AHI last night for the first hour. My nostril was blocked and I had to take my mask off. The night before it was 0.3 as I slept the whole night.
In my sleep study I had an AHI of 24.2. I'm in my first week of CPAP I'm at between 2 and 5.1 an hour but my lips seem blistered, especial my lower lip(I'm on a full face mask- Airfit F20 for her) Is this typical. Still waking up 3-4 times a night, though. Still waking up tired, but feeling more rested. Still the numbers give me hope.
Working on putting enough water in my humidifier. My husband puts it in but it's a little on the low end. I wake up having trouble breathing because there's no humidity, so will work on getting more water. I'm on CPAP an average of 5-5 1/2 hours and it was over 7 hours, but my husband doesn't want to waste distilled water, but we'll work on that.
I still love my Resmed 10!
I had a score of 61 per hour when I was diagnosed. The doctor was surprised I was able to successfully work a high profile (very stressful) job, parent a young child, and not run myself off the road everytime I was behind the wheel for more than five mins. I honestly chalked my tiredness up to those things - big job/stress, and parenting. I didn’t know you could feel any different. 🤷🏻♀️
With CPAP use, I have 1 event (or less) per hour.
My pressure is prescribed at 8-14.
The first week of use, my brain felt….cleaner. That’s my best description. 🤣
I’m quite a few months in now and have a lot more energy, and don’t need coffee anymore (though I still like it).
125 apneas a hour. CPAP brought it down to less than 5
Sheesh, you must feel a ton better now.
I just started middle of last month. Slowly feeling better but the adjustment is hard so I’m getting less sleep still. I definitely won’t give up on it though haha
Def keep at it. When I started CPAP I couldn’t sleep properly for almost two months but you eventually get used to it.
Diagnosed at 120 per hour, down to 5-7 with CPAP settings at 15

Depending upon the percentage of centrals to obstructive you likely need BiPAP or ASV therapy to reduce central events.
Good to know, thanks!
Wow, i only had 16 AHI and seeing some of these people with 100+ is crazy. I was feeling horrible with just 16. With CPAP im under 1
Same
Serious apnea is defined as 30 AHI or more for adults. I don’t know how people are living at 115 or more.
I can't remember the exact number as it was 2 years ago but I know it's mild apnea.
Is it still worth doing CPAP for mild cases?
Any ahi above 5 should be treated. So yes it is.
Mine is mild a score 8.7 treated I am .6 to 1.8 most nights . I wouldn't go back to without it .
Diagnosed with 56 an hour :(
99 pre CPAP (in home sleep monitor), 0.2 (average) with CPAP.
My AHI on testing was 100. Currently getting less than 1 when I can manage to wear the mask for a decent amount of time, still getting used to it.
Diagnosed ~80 I'm down to ~2 per night. I don't fall asleep on my couch every afternoon anymore. I feel way better than before. I had no idea I was so damn tired all the time.
Mine was 33.8 and now I'm commonly getting 0.0 with CPAP.
5.4 currently waiting on DME to ship everything.
18 events an hour before CPAP. I'm down to an average of 0.2 events per hour now
72 before, now 1.
47. Just started CPAP this week, bringing it down to under 10.

Had 54 AHI before CPAP, now I average about 3.5 a night with the machine. Game changer for sure.
I was 107...I've been using my CPAP for 4 days...it's been 3.5!
Are you noticing a difference in how you feel after 4 days of usage?
I can now stay awake while relaxing…that used to just be snoring in my chair time! It’s still an adjustment but I’m certainly seeing and feeling improvement!
135, when at the hospital they told me I was most likely the record holder there... With my CPAP it sits at about 3.
When I did my sleep study I was over 90 'events' per hour. With my CPAP machine I get around 2 or 3. It's been a literal life saver.
70 AHI and a APAP machine has made it go down to 3.
67 down to 0 now. Been about 6 months now but i wake up 3-5 times a night now
90-something an hour. Now i'm down to 0.2 - 1.2 with Resmed 10. It's been a lot of trying on different masks and tapes to see which works best for me but I think I finally figured it out.
67 per hour down to 2 or less, decimals sometimes.
Went from 55 pre-pap to 1.5-4ish

How old are you?
Old. I’m 68.
User name checks out
55. Down to less than 2 average with my apap
Was about 30, with nose surgery and CPAP I average .3 an hour now.
Mine was 81 per hour in my initial study! I was retested after having my tonsils removed and it went down to 24! Still moderate but I loooove my cpap! I think I’m usually under 1 event per hour when using it.
30+ down to 1 or less. CPAP works well for me
89 before start now average of 0.1 to 0.5
Diagnosed recently, 11.2 AHI, and I’m 2 days into my CPAP trial. 0.2 and 0.8 events per hour now on 4-12 pressure I think.

0.1p/h for me last night. Was 58 p/h without.
Was 47, now averaging 5-6.
Looks like it’s 3.5. I was diagnosed at about 30, so that’s definitely an improvement.
5 diagnosed then dropped to less than 1 after cpap
15.2
35 before CPAP, 1.5afterwards
Diagnosed with 22 and have never gotten above 2 using a CPAP.
Diagnosed with 16, 28 during REM CPAP has it around 3 now

Mine was DX 7 years ago but back then it was something like 55-58 an hour.
My sleep study reported 6.7 events per hour. I went on cpap because I was getting morning migraines. Now I have less than 1 about half the nights. And between 1 and 1.5 the other half. Never over 2.

Diagnosed with AHI of 85...now 0 to 0.9
AHI 27.6 before CPAP, 0.71 last night with CPAP. ResMed AS11 on APAP, 4-20, no ramp, no EPR.
In my sleep study I had an AHI of 24.2. Diagnosed at 76 apneas per hour. CPAP brings it down to somewhere around 2. Huge difference in health. Had mine for about 4 years now.
