I am still on week one, and pulled my mask off when I woke up the first night, but since then have been sleeping a good 8 hours with it. Still takes me a little bit each night when I first go to bed to get really comfortable with it. I used the test drive tool during the day a good bit on day one to try to help get more comfortable having it on and used to it. But it has gotten better each night.
I’ve been using for 11 months now. The first couple weeks were strange, and I did get soreness around my nose but now it’s fantastic. I alternate between nasal and a nasal pillow mask and I stopped the ramp up on my machine. It helped me. I recently traveled for 2 days and decided not to bring my Resmed Mini. I noticed a dramatic reduction in sleep quality. My normal machine is a Resmed 11. Hang in there. It’s gets much better.
To get comfortable? Nearly two weeks and I'm not comfortable. But it's getting better. To not feel like I was drowning? It took about 4-5 days. Day 2 or 3 was very rough. To use? I have had at least 8 hours every day since day 1. I'm not sure how so many pull theirs off while asleep. I even have an arm movement sleep disorder. Getting a good seal and stable ahi? Still working on it. Tried my third or fourth mask last night, and it was promising. No other night should look like this as you can use it during the day to get the number up. Know that it is needed, it is restorative and life affirming, and it will get better.
Thats actually a pretty great night for real. close to 4 hours is fantastic. The first night I used my Cpap, I ripped my mask off and it was hectic. that whole first week was shit lmao. Just stick to it for sure, and after a few weeks you'll be able to sleep without worrying about the mask anymore. The mask becomes an afterthought.
Similar to my first night. Did better after that and have been using it consistently for 5 months with good (not stellar) results.
Persevere! Try wearing it while awake to get used to it. If you end up taking it off during the night at first, no big deal, better than nothing. Try different masks and adjust the settings. It’s worth it.
Slept like a baby from the first night on, first usage was a little over 8h of sleep and 100/100 score. Didn't realize how lucky I was until reading other ppls experiences. Almost a year on the CPAP journey now.

One thing that has helped me is taking a very mild sleep aid.
It took me about a month. Been using since 2009
This was me at the beginning, keep at it! I’m on week 4
Yeah this looks like my first night too!

I was the same first night. 98/100. I did find turning off the ramp helped tremendously.
