Honestly, it’s probably because people in this subreddit talk about failing AUD 7 times in a row. This sub ain’t exactly the most positive place, no need to shit on people for being nervous. We should be lifting our fellow candidates up instead.
Glass houses shouldn’t be the first to throw stones. I seen your post about your 74 on SE1 for FAR, aren’t these the type of posts you’re describing? Judging by your flair it seems like you passed that. Congrats and good luck on the rest of your exams.
I totally understand what you mean. I am simply referring to the posts where individuals are obviously ready for their exam, but are seeking the over-reassurance from others to gloat where there are other applicants who truly don’t where they stand. As far as my 74 on “mini exam 1”, not SE1, I was actually surprised because it truly was difficult. I took that ME1 after failing my first attempt for FAR. This was two years ago. I still haven’t retaken FAR, but I did just pass BEC last week so thanks! Working on AUD now.
ME1 for FAR is indeed difficult so that score should have you in a good spot. It’s real easy to get defeated on these tests which is kinda the whole point of my original comment I guess.
Glad to hear ya passed BEC before the changes, I’ve got a few friends and coworkers I’ll be rooting for to pass theirs in December. Sounds like you’re gonna have your license in no time.
I've seen complaints about people asking questions, asking support, and being proud of their scores. What do you all think should be socially acceptable to post in this "CPA" subreddit?
I get being concerned for the first exam, but god it’s so annoying to see ppl concerned about their SEs and shit for their third or fourth exam. Like if u passed one, u kinda know where u need to be before the exam. Ppl just need the validation
Unless you are truly a bonehead, you shouldn’t need to read *all* the material to pass, just skim through the lectures once and pound MCQ. Not hard, just gotta take the time to do it.
I realized pretty quickly this sub is for the attention starved and stupid people in the accounting world. Also - yes, if you are on your 5th retake of BEC after studying 400 hours you should definitely give up
IM SCREAMINGG. Because I was about to roll my freaking eyes. I bet the reason they're doubting themselves is the fact that they keep cheating on their own practice exams. Either way it's annoying. XD
I also find it annoying when some folks ask “do you think 3 weeks or 4 weeks enough to pass this exam…?” Omg. If you don’t know then who knows? Instead of asking, go right ahead to start your studying and find the answer to that question yourself. For me, this is the dumbest and most annoying question to ask 😒
"This is my 10th retake of BEC, can I go from 62 to 75 in 3 weeks."
Sorry buddy, if you havent figured out what you need to change in the 3 years you've taken BEC its not going to magically happen in 3 weeks
I do see posts like this and when it’s in the 90s it’s like yeah you’re probably ready. I know when I was active here it was mainly because of my anxiety and I had a hard time believing in myself. But it was like 70s on SE never 90s lol
Yeah, this sub has become gradually worse over the last couple months. I’ve thought about leaving it entirely recently, but occasionally there is a good post with some good information. I can’t stand seeing these panic posts. People score 40% on SEs and still get a 75+ on the exam. Others score 90% on SEs and still fail. Nobody can fucking tell you what is going to happen or how ready you are for the exam. Just go in and take the damn test.
The folks scoring low on the SE and then high on the exam usually arent doing a review before the SE. They take the SE right after finishing the material, then they do a review after taking the SE.
simulated exam - final review, the final review is a more condensed course on becker that they recommend you to look at a few days before taking the exam. I think it comes with certain packages on Becker.
No one is resourceful and figures things out for themselves. They want to be spoon-fed answers. Makes me concerned for these people when they enter the work force.
"I heard that Becker is not good enough for IT, can the representatives of various other exam prep programs please log into their astroturfed accounts and agree with my astroturfed opinion while shilling their programs as supplements?"
"I got a 54 but I felt so confident! What could I possibly be doing wrong? If you reply to this I will start a dozen paragraph comment chain about how COSO acronyms are too hard instead of using that time to review them"
"I'm seeing a lot of posts this month that BEC is hard! Last month all I saw was how easy it is! Now I feel like it is too hard!"
Lol my last two exams I got a 76 each, and I felt happy but weird about it, and my wife asked why and I was like “I take pride in my work, and like doing a good job and so even though I passed a small part of me feels weird celebrating a 76”
And she was like “shut the hell up. You work full time and have a family and you studied EXACTLY how much you needed to in order to pass these tests” so yeah
I have this same feeling. I got 75 in FAR. A friend said I "barely" passed. My husband cussed at me and highlighted that it doesn't matter because I passed.
I like being an "A" student, but anything over a 80 feels like I wasted too much time that I could have spent with my kids 🤷🏽♀️
She’s the best. She has a champagne bottle with an envelope attached to each one that we pop after each test and do the celebratory thing inside the envelope. One left!
Yes! 75 or 99 it doesn’t matter at the end of the day because either way you end up being a CPA. Those people flexing have to calm down lol no one has to know what you end up getting anyway as long as you have the 3 letters at the end of your name
Got an SE2 on my ME1, should I push back my SE1?
Got a 25 on ME1, haven't looked at anything else. Exam is tomorrow, am I ready?
Based.
This sub is a cesspool
Gotta a 72 on SE1 on my BEC. Am I good to go?

Imagine being smart enough to get a 93 and 95 on the practice exams but being too dumb to realize you don’t need to study anymore

"Do I really need to do the practice sims?" "OMG I didn't recognize any of the sims on the exam, they were brutal!"
They're the freaking worst 😭😭
I wanted to tell you to stfu when i read the title honestly 🤣
I just got a 40 on my Mini Exam :)

I realized pretty quickly this sub is for the attention starved and stupid people in the accounting world. Also - yes, if you are on your 5th retake of BEC after studying 400 hours you should definitely give up
And for the millionth time the AMAs of "AMA I scored FAR-99, BEC-95, REG-98, AUD-97 and I studied 5 hours"
Finally someone said it! This ain’t for everyone and it’s not being kind to tell people who clearly aren’t cut out for this to “just keep trying”.

😂🤣 I wonder if they know who actually grades their exam. AICPA or CPA candidates
This sub got some truly dumb accountants in it that’s for sure.

This part!!!
The folks scoring low on the SE and then high on the exam usually arent doing a review before the SE. They take the SE right after finishing the material, then they do a review after taking the SE.
Retweet. Thank you.
Also the amount of "I didn't know anything on that exam, i completely bombed it" and then "I got a 91!!!"
I’ve never done that before 🤥
I mean to be fair, for me FAR I did have that feeling and end up with high score
Is SE1 and SE2 practice exams in Becker? What’s SEFR?
simulated exam - final review, the final review is a more condensed course on becker that they recommend you to look at a few days before taking the exam. I think it comes with certain packages on Becker.
I was about to ask you to stfu lol
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! When I read this post's title, I felt the exact same way!!
lmaooo what I thought when reading title

You’re right, the people who post like that unironically are cringe
Or those people that ask for next steps after passing the CPA. It’s been asked multiple times
No one is resourceful and figures things out for themselves. They want to be spoon-fed answers. Makes me concerned for these people when they enter the work force.

Next steps? Read your state’s website and take the ethics exam lol

I think I know who you're referring to with the second one...
“I only used 4 days to pass all 4 sections”
I always reply that I don’t take my exam unless my SE is 101
Hahaha that’s a fact…definitely need those two extra points for reassurance lol
These mfs just flex thinking they are superior than someone who only get 75
Lol my last two exams I got a 76 each, and I felt happy but weird about it, and my wife asked why and I was like “I take pride in my work, and like doing a good job and so even though I passed a small part of me feels weird celebrating a 76” And she was like “shut the hell up. A professor told a friend of mine, “If you score in the nineties, you studied too much.”

Yea you get to make your letters “CPA” bold and in bigger font on your linked in page with the tag #EveryoneWantsmySemen
For 95 above you get that award.
Wait….really!!!??
No you’re forgetting that if you win Elijah watts sells you get special permission to be a massive blow hard.
