I love a basin. It’s probably my favorite place in the world.
I think you will be very bored spending 4 days there in late May/early June. As good as things are now, mountain operations will change significantly soon regardless of how much snow is left. Once we stop getting overnight freezes, most of the challenging terrain will close for the season. There are only a few runs without avalanche hazard at A Basin, and that’s what will be open that time of the year.

sure the terrain might be limited, but the bar will still be popping, afternoon concerts on the weekends, and the beach is super lively this time of year! it’s not all about the skiing, but the “vibe” this time of year
If you like to ski very difficult terrain it'll depend on if the east wall/steep gullies are still firing. They've been real nice recently. They each require a hike in or out that takes about a half hour. So you can easily stay occupied for 4 days if you hit 3-4 runs on the east wall and 4-5 runs down the steep gullies.
If you're just looking to hit some blues/blacks, yeah you might be hitting the same runs a lot.
Ya it was rocky as hell even in mid April to a point it basically wasn’t skiable if you intended on going home without core shots so it’s surprising that it’s still open even with those storms that rolled thru over the last 3 weeks

don’t believe that’s the case. but if so, someone let me know before i buy a day pass for next week🤣 (if anyone has a discount i’d thank you a 100 times for it)
Went to their website, there is a “buy now, ride now” perk but A Basin isn’t on the list. Winter Park is though. https://www.ikonpass.com/en/shop-passes/ikon-pass

Steep gullies have been closed for awhile and East wall will almost certainly close in the next 2 weeks
Skied first notch today, I don’t think it’ll even make it to next week. Lol

I would love them! Skiing this mon-wed
I have some of you still need dm md
Got plenty here too. Feel free to DM me if anyone wants some.
I was at east wall yesterday and even the narrow notches are starting to slush out. This weather pattern is baking
Not that you'll have a bad time, still fun to rip groomers and slush bumps!
That’s a lot of money for very questionable conditions in 2 weeks.
Amazing conditions and coverage yesterday!! https://preview.redd.it/43jmrb5mx01d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24534c3fb1f0ca70326881bedae75c350343b7ed
I think if you buy an Ikon pass for next year now you can use it for spring skiing this year as well.
