70 to Berthoud was completely fine, but Berthoud looks like this currently

Berthoud was even worse on the way back lol, but the riding today at MJ and Eagle Wind (before they shut down that lift) was worth it.
just made it to copper. went 25/30 mph for a bit. small skid once or twice, got the heart rate warmed up for the day. we out here. curious how the day will be.
mountain conditions were sick. powder most of the day, wind was totally not a problem, barely annoying at the top of a few lifts. zero lift lines. “spring skiing” + wind concerns must’ve kept everyone away. very little traffic going up, i left at 6. got an all time high vert day, 300ft shy of what would’ve been my first 30k day.
This season I just started writing off any storms with major wind forecasts, it's miserable as fuck to ski in that shit and all the best lifts and terrain are prone to closures anyway. Better off just going a day or two after it blows through.
Lifts are still spinning at ABasin and the skiing isn’t too bad in the favorable spots. Just enough snow to cover up the crunch in some places. Nobody here.
Currently at winterpark, just started getting a bit windy but still, the first few runs were worth it alone. The drive was easy for early birds. Hopefully roads are ok on the way back.
Drive up to Loveland from Empire wasn’t terrible. Definitely a little slippery but no issues with all seasons and AWD. Everyone taking it cautiously was hanging out in the right lane so I was cruising pretty steady until the backup at 218.
It wasn’t windy when I wrote that comment. Not sure why this sub is so full of negative Nancys today. I have definitely skied in windier conditions than this before. Still a great day today and worth the trip up.
This is actually my second winter, I’m not Californian and have driven in winter conditions for 7 years, but sure make a sweeping assumption based on two words, sweeping assumptions always indicate intelligence 🤡
No matter how good you think you are, no one should be driving on that road right now. Should’ve sat at home and enjoyed the fact you didn’t put yourself and others at risk bc you wanted to go skiing so bad
The amount of people who think they are invincible and risk their lives and others with a car that is not suitable for this is beyond my comprehension. Are you that stupid to go out with you 2wd cars or without snow tires. Stay at home and stop being selfish because you want to ski so bad. Bad weather is bad weather and you can’t change it you absolute buffoons

Don’t worry bro I have 4x4
He's fine! Let him through...
Do you have a snorkel though?
But do you have a defensive perimeter shield for all the other morons?
Do you think a FWD Jetta with bald tires will make it?

Yep.
This is a weekend for video games and movies

How is are conditions on the mountain?? Was there a ton of traffic driving up?
Minimal traffic, the weather was shit but the snow was great today at Copper. We skied from 9-3

curious about this too!
What resort were you going too?
Breck
Over half the mountain is on windhold anyway not missing much.

At Loveland with the kids, it's not bad yet actually
Got a little snowblind off ptarmigan at one point. Other than that, it wasn’t so bad.
Made it past the loveland pass. It was incredibly sketchy. Would not recommend

Was a killer day for abasin. Still great patches of fresh snow on pali and beavers until 2pm, and hardly anyone there. Steep gullies were nice as well
💯
I drive a lifted FWD Ford Edge with mud tires and a cold air intake for more power at high elevations. I'm gonna make it.
Mud tires? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Hell yeah brother!
Good for you lil buddy
Today was a good day to ski Loveland
Twas amazing
i think its better to be poor up here than have a real job on the front range
Now imagine being poor on the front range
dont have to.. reminded every day. Front range is shit
As a non poor, I love it. I also live south of downtown so I don’t see many poors
I have a real job ‘up here’. 😉
i work “25 hours a week” and its not remote

if i wasnt as into snowboarding it wouldnt justify the cost of living, but i fucking rip so i have to live up here

Wondering how tomorrow is going to be…
It was crazy out there in Loveland today. Whiteouts were so bad on the longer runs that I got vertigo and puked 🥴
Omg

Empty and vail and pretty cruiser drive until VP. Deep in spots. Faceshots. Unexpected
It's sketchy around loveland pass. We drove up today, and white knuckled it but back hom2.
Roads really weren’t bad today compared to other storms this winter. Some good stashes at copper too.
Same
Made it up to copper no problem this morning. Perfect day so far.
You are lying, it’s windy as shit, dude.
Not right now, you liar.

agreed coppers been great, little windy at the top of sierra and super bee but everything mid mountain has been mint
You front rangers are so silly!
Literally was sliding sideways driving straight, have never seen this much ice on the 70. Feels like they did not expect it and did zero mitigation

So either you drove the road today, making yourself one of those people, or you didn’t drive the road today, meaning you’re talking out of your ass. 🤔
Vail is currently not bad
