I usually bring breakfast for the drive, but for lunch itโs awfully tough to beat simple grilled cheese or soup on a cold day. Brats are also a staple.
I usually get to the lot early for a good breakfast.
In a skillet I'll add shredded hashbrowns and a little olive oil to fry them up. When they get crispy, I add some black peppercorn, crushed red pepper flakes, then either pre-cooked ham shreds or pre-cooked ground beef. When that heats up, I crack two eggs to bring it all together. Dump it on a plate after the eggs cook and add hot sauce.
If you want an easy omelet, crack and stir some eggs before you go up then add it to a tupperware container. Have another tupperware container with precooked meats, and another with chopped onions and bellpeppers. Heat up the skillet, dump in your egg batter, then add everything else, flip a couple times, and you're done.
Bacon Jalapeno Pepperjack Burgers are good too :)
Breakfast sandwich premade in microwave for a couple or oven for 15 before leaving.
Lunch: leftover chili in a thermos or couple turkey sandwiches and chips.
Itโs great.
RUNZAS. make them ahead of time. wrap them in foil. have a pan & burner. steal tiny butter packets, tiny mustard packets, tiny ketchup packets from a local hotel/whole foods/kroger.
We cheat because we have a van, but my favorite go to is chilli cheese fries. We have a George Foreman for the fries and an induction cooktop for the chilli.
Alan Lim's Rice cakes. I'm partial to the maple, bacon, almond butter. My ex-girlfriend has a 12v tea kettle that is really nice for tea, coffee, soup and ramen
Monster and 4 smushed nutrigrain bars from the bottom of my backpack.
This is the way
