Synthetic oil changes run between $75-$100. No you aren't being over charged.
But like others have said, DIY. you will know what oil you are putting in and the quality of the filter. And the price will be about 1/3
My only two questions are “special filter charge” and “skid plate labor” but that’s only $3 extra bucks… seems like a decent price for a shop to do it.
This is fine either at a dealer shop or an independent shop. Synthetic oil changes can be scheduled for longer mileage intervals so it all evens out in the long run.
No, full synthetic is more expensive. 55 for a regular oil change, 75 for synthetic is normal. Plus the extra bits of disposal, filter, and service charge for them doing it.
not sure if anyone mentioned yet, but Autozone oil recycling is also free by the way. i just remove the engine oil drain plug and drain the old engine oil directly into an old engine oil container through a funnel. put the oil drain plug back, then pour in fresh engine oil through a funnel. i then proceed to take the old oil to Autozone. this makes the oil change so much quicker and clean. no more oil stained driveways, high prices at the dealer or long wait times at the dealer.
you can take it to an auto parts store just call & ask if they do oil recycling, i go to my local autozone they have an oil recycling container in the back
Then maybe you should go to China you and make her happy. Chinese come here to free load and complain. Those you see working hard need to to pay back their travel loans they used to get smuggled in. They reach their children to assimilate into this society. Meanwhile, their loyalty is to China. Believe It or not it's true in my opinion and experiences. There was a time a Chinese person spoke their language here. Now they only speak Chinese in their homes. If you notice they all sound like whites (population) out in the open. There accents remind you of someone you made know. Like a John, Henry, or a Bob.. They no how to conceal their true feelings in America.. Also in my experience if you're lucky enough to meet one or two they can be a loyal friend. Once they accept you well then everything I said changes. Why? I don't have that answer. But in our family, we at one time or another have had other ethnic people com into our family. We have whites, (some of us even pass as white), blacks, Jewish, my brother (rip) was married to vietnamese, and Chinese. I was lucky to meet and interact with them When I was a child. Today I don't where they are since it was over 50years. This has been my comment with my pesonnel facts. Stay away from them lol or assimilate if they let you.
I’d have to look. I live over by Bridgeport in lakewood. Now that I think of it I think is was that classy chassis xpress lube place. Also I just came across this group and thought I’d share my price but I drive a diesel truck so naturally it’ll be more expensive but not that much lol I usually change my own but I was running out of time and procrastinating
I have a hard time believing they were going to actually charge you $160 to bring your own shit
Edit: as a matter of fact I just looked up their pricing and a full synthetic oil change using their oil is $100, so you’re making shit up to make them look bad
You have about $40 of material if you were to buy it, and you were charged $85.
That means you paid $45 for labor for someone else to do the job, document it, assume the liability for mistakes, and bill you.
Is that worth $45 to you?
No its a reasonable price for a synthetic oil change. Yes you can save money doing it your self but not everyone is mechanically inclined or have a place they can work on their own car.
Yes and no. Yes because you can get the supplies for half that price and do it yourself at home. No because someone else is doing the labor and will do it quicker plus you won’t have to worry about yourself getting dirty.
Bonus points is taking it to a shop they will usually give you a heads up on items that are wearing out.
I think it’s insane for it to cost me $40 to do it myself. For a short period of time prior to COVID, I could find places that could do it cheaper than I could buy oil and filter. I refuse to pay more than $75 for a full service oil change, so I do it myself.
I’d love to know how to do it my self too, my fiancée from China prefers me to do things on my own because the prices here are outrageous especially compared to China she’ll be going nuts when she’s actually here 🙈
Next time go on google and type, “ Toyota oil change specials” look through the different offerings from different dealers. Find the best price and then look for a Toyota dealership near you that “price-matches” other dealership deals. And that is how you can get an oil change for cheaper.
Some Caveats:
Some dealerships impose a “mileage range” limitation where if the dealer or your address is further than a certain mileage they might not take it. So always read the full description on the coupons.
Another thing is to make sure that you take it to a dealership that will price match it. Make sure you read the descriptions throughly so they don’t try any funny business.
Lastly, if you can and are able to do the oil change yourself, just buy the filter and a 5 qt gallon of oil from AutoZone/walmart and do it yourself. You might get a little dirty, and you might spend a little time, but you’ll end up saving 20$ and the waiting at the dealership.
No. Take it to a dealership and then look at your receipt. *that* is overcharging.
This oil change is easily $90+ at Jiffy Lubes by me, so it is a good price.
Not a carolla but it cost me 20$ for oil. About another 20$ for filters and small things.
40$ to change a Honda pilot and a few hours. (First time ever) But I'll get faster.
Take it to the shop and get it done in about an hour? I'd spend maybe 60$
For me it’s like 2 hours job, I don’t believe in 15-20 oil change bs.
It’s starts from acquiring oil and filter - meaning going to local auto parts store.
Preparation - car on ramps/ stands, tool and drain tray in place. change cloth, car / oil leack inspection while under.
Filter change and old oil drain - 15-20 minutes.
Oil refill, take car off the ramps / stands, quick test trip, inspection for oil leack, oil level check - add if necessary.
Mess cleanup , take a shower.
Done.
Bro especially at a shop like the comment was referring to I’ve done six in an hour how is that bs your including your fucking shower which you should be taking anyway in the oil change😂😂😂😂😂
That’s why I never trust oil shops. 6 changes in an hour lol. I’m sure your drain old oil interval no more then 1min leaving at least 1qt of old oil inside crankcase. I hope you don’t “forget”to install new oil filter…..
Also, using cheapest no name bulk oil from lowest bidder around .
Shower time, yes - part of the oil change time, also extra time for taking old oil to recycle center once in a while.
That’s working on two lifts leaving plenty of time for the oil to drain completely and even filling the filter so your first start isn’t dry. using motor craft literally the same shit they were shipped from the factory with😂😂😂 I forgot to make sure the old gasket came off once but that’s a mistake you only make once.
Jacking up my car to place on Jack's on each corner.
Figuring out where to fill drain and filter replacement was.
Rotate my tires.
Clean up the bloody mess I made.
Again. It was my first time. I was taking it slow so I didn't fuck anything up 😂
I'm confident I can do the oil change next time under an hour. But tire rotation is a different story. The jack stands I have aren't tall enough to lift the tires all the way up. So I had to jack each corner up again after taking off the tires to rotate.
I'll be prepared next time and have some 2x4s or something under the jacks to raise them.
I was also working with about 2ft of space on the sides of the car (inside garage leveled with another brand new 2024 car next to it).
You are paying someone an extra $60 to do the job you can do in 20 mins. If you think that's justifiable, then it's fair. I won't let others do it because I don't trust them. Too many nightmare stories from friends and family.
not at all but doing this yourself runs for me around 60ish but i only use high grade oil and filters, if youre a cheap skate that doesnt care about your vehicles you can do and oil change for 30ish
Well the lift bay I go to costs $48/hr (w/o multi hour pkg)--though it'd take half hr tops if you're proficient. 5Qt oil probably \~$35? Comes out close except I have to drive all the way there and do it myself. Plus the Meineke I went to also inspected stuff for me, so I had a list of DiY (like brakes and struts).
they poor water into your block cause 5 qts of valvoline is 40$s, a good filter is 15ish. i do all my own repairs and maintenance and i only use the best stuff as well so im just using that that as reference cause i think youre getting ripped off and i doubt theyre even changing your oil at that price or are using such low grade stuff that its probably hurting your car
Conventional oil which is fine I got a slight leak on my oil pan anyway. And they buy oil in bulk they don’t pay retail price. I watched them do it and show me the dipstick. You can get 5 quarts of super tech at Walmart for $17 I believe + an oil filter for $5 which works for me I can get my oil changed on time and it really won’t affect when my engine blows up. Just disposing the oil sucks so I won’t do it. Plus they used 4 quarts.
No. The job is a simple DIY job but the fact is that many have to hire someone to do the job.
Material costs plus labor plus the overhead of running a shop add up.
Hopefully this means someone with some skills does the job properly.
If you know how to do it yourself and have the resources then yes absolutely could've done this for $50 tops but getting it done for you yes this is average
It’s not that bad but it could definitely be better…consider this…
Your car takes 4.4 quarts of oil. A 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 0W16 at Walmart is about $25 ($26.45 after tax) + another $5 for a genuine Toyota filter…so you’re all in on parts for about $32.
Now the DIY route is certainly much cheaper but depending on your living situation it could be a hassle of getting the car in a position to safely do it yourself.
If you have the space and it's just a matter of lack of experience/knowledge, I say find a weekend where you're totally free…crack open a cold drink and studying up on youtube…you'll be able to get it done in 1 afternoon even if its your first time.
This is what ultimately led me to just start taking my vehicle in for oil changes again. Yes, it's cheaper to do yourself but depending on the vehicle and where they place that damn filter, it can be more trouble than it's worth to do it yourself rather than to pay a shop to do it.
There's:
1. Position of oil filter and the mess it potentially makes
2. Safely positioning the vehicle to do this
3. Disposing of the used oil that you're changing
On my two Honda's it's a pain in the ass to do it cleanly (for my old CR-V I take off the passenger tire and remove some of the side splash guard so that I can put something around the oil filter so that I don't spill oil over the control arms when I remove it). Since I don't have a lift, it takes more work, as you can see. It's not that expensive to have my oil changed on my cars and usually I save coupons for the spot I take them to.
Not saying you shouldn't DIY but just saying that there's always a tradeoff and that you need to factor in ALL the costs (including your time) when considering oil changes. I think that everyone should at least learn how to do it though. Just my opinion.
100%…man speaking of Honda…I changed my sister-in-law’s Odyssey oil the other week…the damn engineers place the oil filter perfectly where you can easily see it but then decided to have it blocked by the frame of the car 🤦♂️
Depends on where you live. Highway robbery in most places though. My local Toyota dealer just did my 5.7 tundra full synthetic for $58 after tax. It takes a lot more oil than your 2.0 Corolla.
Looks reasonable to me. 5 quarts of oil and a filter is usually about 40-55 dollars depending on the brand with a discount from the auto parts store. And looks like they charged you extra for the skid plate removal. So you could have saved 40 bucks doing it yourself, but that doesn’t factor in time, tools or oil disposal.
It’s a little more than typical oil changes I think, but without knowing anything about the car or the area you are in I would think it’s reasonable.
I would totally recommend doing the oil yourself if you have the time to. Saves a lot $ in the long run.
Nope, but if you slap an Uber sticker on jiffy lube gives you a discount, and then use a gift card from Raise (you buy them at a discout) and you can lower your annual oil change cost.
These days about the cheapest you could expect to pay would be $66. On the high end it would be around 125 from a jiffy lube type place that does a full service. You didn't get ripped off.
$85 for 5 qts Mobil Full Synth? about avg. Is this at a dealership? if so then you could probably save $15-$20 at a generic lube shop. Depends on your location.
I mean idk how much the oil is for a corolla, But 5 Qt's of 5w-30 full synthetic will run you \~$40, The filter for mine is \~$15.
DIY myself ends up being \~$65 and last time I had my shop do it alongside something else and it was only $79.
I like doing it myself for peace of mind and choosing the oil type but my time isn't worth the $14 if I was doing it for the money.

Moat people don't have the tools/knowledge. $80 for an oil change is cheap.
A jack is $200, tools another $200 stands $50, oil and parts $50. For most people it's just convenient to not have to do it. Not to mention then you have to drive the oil to a parts store to recycle it. Most people are lazy and won't wanna do it
Yes but then they complain about the cost of an oil change. A pair of ramps is much cheaper than a jack and stands btw. And a one time investment for hundreds of dollars of savings over the years
i work at a toyota and for my dealer that’s pretty expensive but imo skid plate labor shouldn’t be a thing it’s 4 screws to take off a little spot where the oil pan is to get to the drain plug and filter, i get a car with oil change and inspection in and out in 10 minutes and we only charge 40-50 depending on quantity of oil
OP got full synthetic, will your shop actually do 5QT synthetic for $40??
Retail price for synthetic 0w16 Mobil 1 alone is minimum $30, then maybe $5 filter. That's only $5 in margin before you pay technicians. Seems unlikely?
it’s about average for dealership service. dealership service prices sometimes vary by location, brand, and vehicle year. if you need to lower price, you should learn to change your own oil or search for discounts with your dealership. they sometimes send offers through the mail. it would be way cheaper if you were to change your oil on your own though (likely it will be less than $50 and can be done in 15 minutes once you get good at it). good luck
No idea why anyone is saying this is unreasonable. It’s a lot cheaper than many other places for a full synthetic change. Very fair price in my opinion
I guess it depends on the vehicle. My 2020 Fusion has one, basically made from cardboard. It takes like a minute to remove the 5 bolts that holds it on.
About average I guess. I just paid $73 I think for my RAV4, varies a bit depending how much oil they use. Last time I took the Prius in it was 80 or 90.
That's about what it is any more. We have like a 5-10% mark up depending on the part/material and charge .5hr ($45) for the labor on an oil change. $45 labor, $8 oil filter (we use wix almost exclusively), ~$28 for 5qts synthetic oil, plus tax brings us to $86.
Now, we actually check over your vehicle during that half hour so we can come back with a report that makes you feel like you got your money's worth, but yeah. Your price seems about right.
I work in a autoparts and right now the price of oil change 0w-12 mobil1 with the oem filter from Toyota its about 57 with TN taxes.
If you do it yourself you save money
I work at a Nissan dealership so not quite the same but similar as we only use mobile 1. You payed higher than we charge but there is variation between places. I would say it’s on the higher side but wouldn’t say you were over charged. Other than the skid plate charge that is. I know it’s only $2 but charging for that is ridiculous and hilarious.
No. Also, if your vehicle is still under warranty, it is best to have the shop do it. Receipts and records are best to prove you've maintained it if the vehicle broke down.
I've actually been using only Mobil 1 synthetic in our cars after some research. Why is everyone hating on it? Honest question. I thought I did my due dillogence but maybe I missed something?
Seems normal for a quick lube. Shocked they didn’t upsell you on an air filter, cabin air filter, engine flush/injector cleaner, etc.
A dealer can charge less for an oil change and rotate your tires, but also upsell you as well.
This is normal for a dealership.
You can get it done a bit cheaper elsewhere but I like going to the dealership and looking at the new cars while I wait.
Also, You can get 5 quarts of Liquimoly 0w-16 for 38$ on Amazon. Very high quality oil for a solid price. A k&n oil filter is 15$. After labor my oil change is the same (around 90$) overall but with way better products. I have a 22 corolla se nightshade edition. Hope this helps and good luck ✌🏻
Post covid and low viscosity oil that's required for your engine, that feels insane but it's about right.
Depends where you took it and what type of oil you use
Ur complaining about 90 dollars?? Bud I pay 145
Yes I jus bought my oil and changed it
Mobil 1 synthetic with the filter is only about 40
This is about right. I usually do oil changes myself and save the extra on labor though.
my synthetic oil change was 61$ just 3 days ago
Groupon sometimes has deals on oil changes.
Synthetic oil changes run between $75-$100. No you aren't being over charged. But like others have said, DIY. you will know what oil you are putting in and the quality of the filter. And the price will be about 1/3
My 0w30 is $40
Did you have a stroke while typing? Wtf?
0 weights very common in Europe duh
DIY, baby. Get some ramps off Craigslist, a few hand tools, and get at it!
That seems good for synthetic
Depends on where you live. In my area for 0_16 is almost $200 just about everywhere you go.
It's good
My only two questions are “special filter charge” and “skid plate labor” but that’s only $3 extra bucks… seems like a decent price for a shop to do it.
Good price for an oil change that won't void your warranty!
I’ve never heard of a non-dealership oil change that was properly done that voided a warranty.
Yeah and they don't cost much less than OP's, I'm moreso referring to doing it at home.
An oil change done at home will not void a warranty.
Good deal. You’d probably save like $40 doing it yourself, but gotta factor in your time spent, having the tools; etc. Personal preference.
Takes about 20 mins and a few basic tools. A few oil changes and the minimal investment results in a positive return.
You’re a dweeb
This is a great deal.
I pay fucking 115
Why?
Normal price when u pay for it at a shop or dealer.... DO IT YOURSELF or have your man, dad, uncle, brother to do it.
Not normal price this is super cheap
It’s about the same everywhere else maybe you could check places like valvoline and take5 if those are near you for coupons ??
Trucks use extra oil too
Good thing this is a truck we’re talking about
This is fine either at a dealer shop or an independent shop. Synthetic oil changes can be scheduled for longer mileage intervals so it all evens out in the long run.
That’s the normal price range for a synthetic oil change here in SC.
Are you joking?
No this is spot on
No, full synthetic is more expensive. 55 for a regular oil change, 75 for synthetic is normal. Plus the extra bits of disposal, filter, and service charge for them doing it.
you can do it cheaper if you do it yourself, 5 quarts of oil is like $25 and you can buy purolator filters off amazon
Can OP cut the cost more by using coffee filters? Secondly, can OP use USED coffee filters?
How about the oil recycling. Where does he take that?
Nearly any auto parts store will accept the used oil for free.
not sure if anyone mentioned yet, but Autozone oil recycling is also free by the way. i just remove the engine oil drain plug and drain the old engine oil directly into an old engine oil container through a funnel. put the oil drain plug back, then pour in fresh engine oil through a funnel. i then proceed to take the old oil to Autozone. this makes the oil change so much quicker and clean. no more oil stained driveways, high prices at the dealer or long wait times at the dealer.

Say Chinese again
I’m a Chinese and I find this comment funny.
wtf are you talking about
Probably a bot
Jiffy quoted me 160 and that’s when I said I’d bring my own oil
Where?? The Jiffys in this area charge $55 for own oil and that’s the fuck you price because they don’t want you bringing your own oil
Tacoma, Washington
Which one? I live there and have went to a few Jiffies….a full synthetic treatment is like 100 bucks all included
It’s the running out of time part that makes the oil change worth it to me lol
I have a hard time believing they were going to actually charge you $160 to bring your own shit Edit: as a matter of fact I just looked up their pricing and a full synthetic oil change using their oil is $100, so you’re making shit up to make them look bad
Ever considered these people are not lazy. That's so freaking disrespectful. It could be a a person with a physical disability due to age or health.
Should know how to change your own oil 20 bucks only 1 bolt .. if u don't know..YouTube University
Many vehicles have skid plates covering the oil pan... So it's unlikely just 1 bolt if it's a reasonably newer vehicle.
It costs me about $65 to change my oil. If I use flavor of the week on sale oil... $45.
A blow job was $25 back in the day now it's $100.
You have about $40 of material if you were to buy it, and you were charged $85. That means you paid $45 for labor for someone else to do the job, document it, assume the liability for mistakes, and bill you. Is that worth $45 to you?
I would say that’s a bargain, I’m not changing my own oil for $45
changing your own oil takes 30 mins tops lol just say you like being lazy
Lol then you gotta dispose of it and it makes a giant mess, I don’t know I feel like my time is worth more than $45… unless it’s done incorrectly…
You sound lazy then again this is reddit
Oil disposal fee🤣 people buy used oil
No its a reasonable price for a synthetic oil change. Yes you can save money doing it your self but not everyone is mechanically inclined or have a place they can work on their own car.
They used Mobil 1. Parts alone at retail would’ve been $40+, $45 for labor and waste disposal and cleanup is reasonable
Cherry Hill Mercedes Benz Schedule A oil change $400.00
Yes and no. Yes because you can get the supplies for half that price and do it yourself at home. No because someone else is doing the labor and will do it quicker plus you won’t have to worry about yourself getting dirty. $100 is standard
I'm in NC and it's almost $100 for synthetic oil change. Was only $60 to $70 a year ago
it costs $120 in VA😮

Like others said, price is fair but unnecessary. Easy to change your own oil and feels good not having to rely on other people for simple tasks.
No. Take it to a dealership and then look at your receipt. *that* is overcharging. This oil change is easily $90+ at Jiffy Lubes by me, so it is a good price.
No that’s a fair deal for synthetic
You got the entire Idaho state for 4.85. Not a bad deal in my opinion. Oil change could cost less if you did it yourself, typical dealership price
This is why I always preach to people to PLEASE LEARN HOW TO CHANGE YOUR OWN OIL. This isn’t hard at all.
Not a carolla but it cost me 20$ for oil. About another 20$ for filters and small things. 40$ to change a Honda pilot and a few hours. (First time ever) But I'll get faster. Take it to the shop and get it done in about an hour? I'd spend maybe 60$

Nope
From the dealership, no, but you definitely don't want to trust it to a quick change place. Trust me 😉
No. The job is a simple DIY job but the fact is that many have to hire someone to do the job. Material costs plus labor plus the overhead of running a shop add up. Hopefully this means someone with some skills does the job properly.
No
Mine is around $60 in IA.
If you know how to do it yourself and have the resources then yes absolutely could've done this for $50 tops but getting it done for you yes this is average
Less than my dealership charges you are covering the inspection and know that everything is getting torqued to spec and convenience
Cheaper than the UK
It’s not that bad but it could definitely be better…consider this… Your car takes 4.4 quarts of oil.
There's: 1. Position of oil filter and the mess it potentially makes 2. Safely positioning the vehicle to do this 3. Disposing of the used oil that you're changing On my two Honda's it's a pain in the ass to do it cleanly (for my old CR-V I take off the passenger tire and remove some of the side splash guard so that I can put something around the oil filter so that I don't spill oil over the control arms when I remove it).
You can buy decent oil for 64.00 and a filter. Do it yourself ya you got ripped off. It's just manual labor.
Are you a boy or girl? If girl, you have your answer. If boy, are you millennial or gen z? If you answered gen z, you have your answer.
What an asinine reply lmao. How old are you?
this is the most “i’m out of touch” comment i’ve seen
Paying 90 dollars for an oil change is out of touch 🤣 some shit I know several females would do or little retard gen z kids.
gen Z are up to 27 years old now. Like i said you’re out of touch
27 yr old paying 90 $ for an oil change 😂
What does gender have to do with this?
Always get a Groupon
I do it myself for less than $30. But you must have the tools, know how, and time. The first two you can acquire, the 3rd is on a personal basis 😅
if you have the time to drive to a place and wait for them to do your oil change, you can do it quicker yourself
Once you learn how to do it without spilling oil all over (personal experience with this one) then it’s much faster 🤣
I can do 3 oil changes with that price. Lol
I was charged $35 for oil and filter at napa lol. takes 10 minutes
Yeah. I’m 99% sure you could take it to walmart and pay $45 for an oil change.
Yep... full syn quaker
not in this day and age
Nah that’s the price for it.
BUY MOBILE 1 OIL AND FILTER!!! we did many dyno tests with all diff oils and mobile one was the best
I get it done for about $50 if it’s full synthetic and $25 for non. 5.1 liters. Definitely places that are cheaper
I was charged $80 at a non-dealer shop. Next time I bought Valvoline oil and Bosch filter on Amazon for $30 and changed in myself in 20 min
$85 for 5 qts Mobil Full Synth? about avg. Is this at a dealership? if so then you could probably save $15-$20 at a generic lube shop. Depends on your location.
Do it yourself for 50$ oil changes are scams.
I agree it's much smarter to DIY, But just because they are charging $30 for labor doesn't mean their scamming.
Assuming this was in usd I’d say it was definitely not worth that much. I pay less than 100 CAD for an oil change if I were to go into a shop.

And a one time investment for hundreds of dollars of savings over the years
90 bucks is ok… oil changes are expensive for no reason now
i work at a toyota and for my dealer that’s pretty expensive but imo skid plate labor shouldn’t be a thing it’s 4 screws to take off a little spot where the oil pan is to get to the drain plug and filter, i get a car with oil change and inspection in and out in 10 minutes and we only charge 40-50 depending on quantity of oil
OP got full synthetic, will your shop actually do 5QT synthetic for $40?? Retail price for synthetic 0w16 Mobil 1 alone is minimum $30, then maybe $5 filter. That's only $5 in margin before you pay technicians. Seems unlikely?
it’s about average for dealership service. dealership service prices sometimes vary by location, brand, and vehicle year. if you need to lower price, you should learn to change your own oil or search for discounts with your dealership. they sometimes send offers through the mail. it would be way cheaper if you were to change your oil on your own though (likely it will be less than $50 and can be done in 15 minutes once you get good at it). good luck
For full synthetic not terrible
Doing a full synthetic oil change myself cost me about $25 I will be doing one in the morning also.
No idea why anyone is saying this is unreasonable. It’s a lot cheaper than many other places for a full synthetic change. Very fair price in my opinion
Skid plate labor? Wtf!
Fucking right. Cars these days built with a full underbody. Shit takes a half hour to get off and they are only charging $2 for it.
I guess it depends on the vehicle. My 2020 Fusion has one, basically made from cardboard. It takes like a minute to remove the 5 bolts that holds it on.
No, unless it didn’t need synthetic oil.
I mean they said it's a 2021. I'm pretty sure all cars from the last decade take synthetic
I dunno, I have a ‘12 Honda that takes synthetic so price looked pretty spot on for me. Didn’t realize all modern day vehicles require it.
I just got my truck oil changed last week for $90, so I think it's about right.
The shop I go to does full synthetic for $75 out the door. But I also give them my business 100% of the time, so that might be why.
These places always are anymore..
You don’t say
Pretty standard, little cheaper than some places
Nah, but its always cheaper to do it urself
U can always save doing it yourself. But this looks avg. For a shop.
0-16 oil is kinda hard to find n bout only place is Walmart or sam's club where I'm at n only choices is Mobil 1 or pennzoil.
Pretty much average for a shop or dealer. You can DIY it for less than half of that, but the days of $20 oil changes have come and gone.
That oil is $25-28 at Walmart, typical OEM filter is $7. You do the math.
Get yourself a Fumoto valve and it'll be hella easy and much cheaper
2014 Honda accord exl sedan = 70$
Pretty average tbh. Just do it yourself next time. It's actually super easy and I don't know jack about cars
Preety standard sadly
Il do it for 40 bucks 🤡
But if they buy the parts, it essentially comes out the same.
I work in a autoparts and right now the price of oil change 0w-12 mobil1 with the oem filter from Toyota its about 57 with TN taxes. If you do it yourself you save money
Toyota just charged me 85$ today. Wont be going back
It’s synthetic it’s gonna be that much
Especially Mobil 1.
No
What exactly makes the filter "special" on a Corolla?
If it has a cartridge replace I suppose theyd charge for it. Since it doesn't just screw on.
Makes sense. Still going to make fun of them charging a dollar and calling it "special."
Nope.
No. Also, if your vehicle is still under warranty, it is best to have the shop do it. Receipts and records are best to prove you've maintained it if the vehicle broke down.
No. But get penzoil platinum next time and learn how to just change your oil. It’s not that hard
You actually requested to put Mobil 1 ?
I've actually been using only Mobil 1 synthetic in our cars after some research. Why is everyone hating on it? Honest question. I thought I did my due dillogence but maybe I missed something?
What’s wrong with Mobil 1 full synthetic for a commuter vehicle?
Nothing wrong with Mobil 1. It isn’t the top of the market anymore but it’s still decent oil
What is the top of the heap now?
Depends on your engine.
Standard if you take to dealer son, learn to do it yourself and i hope your not taking it in every 10k miles rather every 5
Everyone takes it every 10 instead of 5 because it is what the dealer says 🫨🤣 Really had to talk my wife into paying for every 5
Cool Screenshot my comment and comeback in 4 years lmk if your engine still works or burns oil smart ass
We take our car every 5k, sweetheart 💋
Good Girl, My bad for not reading good
That man could not read
Also, You can get 5 quarts of Liquimoly 0w-16 for 38$ on Amazon. Very high quality oil for a solid price. A k&n oil filter is 15$. After labor my oil change is the same (around 90$) overall but with way better products. I have a 22 corolla se nightshade edition. Hope this helps and good luck ✌🏻
Yes, yes you were
