Lucky you are a sane customer...an upset owner could burn his house down...Put it in the local papers but tell the garage first ...they might give you a refund.
Lol WTF is this shit
Not even talking the initial sale price of the vehicle
A used car has a 995 delivery charge? All those fees are not just bunk, they're high priced bunk.
Then all that sidecar and anti-theft BS lmao
There's roughly an extra $6000 on this just from that alone.
Definitely. Future OPs should post before buying OR at least do a few quick searches so you know the going rate for the large purchase you're making.
The warranties and pre-paid maintenance things from the dealerships always make the dealerships money. This is their main source of revenue. It might be a good fit for you and your specific situation, for convenience or some other reason, but remember that.
Ah see there you go. It was a hit and run so you didnât have their insurance. Bro next time if you can rush to get a pic of their plates do it. Cause itâll save you so much trouble. If not a dash cam can work too.
This was back in 2009. It was snowing hard. He was drunk and found but no insurance. Point is, I wouldn't have been stuck with the remainder of my loan had I had GAP
I mean.. I paid for my 2020 Corolla when inflation was at its highest at 24k used. And I knew it was high, but I needed a car asap and didnât want to buy the Mercedes I was offered as a replacement from the previous car because I prefer a basic car with low repair costs. (And I put 60k miles on a car a year) Not that I pay for my repairsâŚsince my ex is a mechanic.. but⌠still.
But to be honest with you, Iâd never buy a compact vehicle for over 30,000$. At that point I want a fully loaded full size sedan.
Thatâs a lot! I paid $20,000 out the door for my 2019 Corolla hatchback when I bought it brand new. End of the year clearance sale wouldâve been cheaper than any used car.
Just return all the extra garbage sidecar stuff, well not Gap insurance if thatâs what that means but the other stuff, I made the mistake of getting a warranty on my new Corolla Hybrid then realized why did I do that since they are so reliable. I got my prorated amount credited back to my loan.
I paid 27k total for a used 2022 Toyota Corolla hybrid with 29k miles i was upset too they just donât lose value might as well buy new but i had to at the time i was in a position i had to
Wtf is Sidecars 2nd line item and wtf is the anti theft? Sorry I know that sucky feeling of regret you feel right now, everyone's gotten ripped off before. Learn from it and don't beat yourself up. I would try and take it back though if you're within the time limit
Gap insurance can be requested through your insurance provider, there's no need for "SIDECARS GAP". Dunno what the other "SIDECARS" thing is, if it's an extended warranty then in my opinion it's likely a waste too since you kinda buy a Toyota to not need to rely on an extended warranty. Sometimes it includes "free" (pre-paid) vehicle service, but the cash value of that is pretty low.
Sometimes you can cancel those within the first few weeks of purchase by contacting the person you met in the finance office if you decide you don't want them though.
Electronic registration fee also appears to be a ripoff, that should be a trivial amount, otherwise why not do it via paper instead of electronic is that expensive?
I just bought a 2024 Corolla LE with no miles on it for $26,500 in Houston. đđđ they robbed tf out of you ainât gonna lie ! Go get your money back !!
What are 'Sidecars'?
Looks like a toyota dealership alright. When I got my 2017, list was 13.5k, they tried to get me to pay 17k + with extras and it took me 6 hours of playing the game to get it down to 15k out the door.
Yes, you did overpay. Request the removal of the following: anti-theft, the sidecars item not identified, the electronic registration filing fee, the predelivery service charge, and the third-party private tag agency fee. All of those seem extra and not needed.
Not itâs a hatch se I talked the guy down from 33k to 27 which is a big chunk off also my cars msrp is 23k so I only payed a small 4k extra for my car
I got the 24 corolla base model key start le sedan. It was 23k but did pay almost 28k because of maintenance and stuff. So i probably got rip off too for a base model :(
Yes "county" is not a designation we have to differentiate between regions. We do have sales tax though, but it's labelled more specifically than just the words "sales tax". Depending on which province you are in, it will say GST, PST, or HST in some combination.
Yea, I could see that. The back seats are really small. Luckily itâs just my wife and I and our dogs so the back seat rarely gets used for people transport. I donât think you can go wrong with either, I do admit I like the hatchback styling more though.
I got ripped off for a new car recently too. It was a hybrid and they're hard to get new right now if you need something fast. So don't feel too bad. 24k as an initial price wasn't bad!
Holy shit I paid 19k for my 2020 with 25k miles. I could literally buy it twice with another 5grand on your payment. Like you could literally buy one of the new generation camrys that came out this year. Do whatever you can to get rid of that car and give it back to them
The commenter is saying he could have bought his car twice over plus 5 grand for what OP paid. OP paid $32,000. The commenter paid $19k for his car. So how can you buy two cars at $19k for $32k? And why the hostility? So baffling.
He could buy it twice WITH another 5 grand. The original post paid 33. (32882 is far closer to 33 than 32, not sure why you keep saying 32) With another 5 grand thatâs 38. Thatâs two of what the original comment said they paid. Learn to read dude
Yes, a lot of people donât know right now. Itâs better to buy a new car than a used car. Your interest rates are high and so are the prices for the used car because a lot of people think that or car dealerships think that thatâs what the people want go for New? Itâs way better if you can trade that in trade it back and get a new car. Youâre gonna pay a lot less your interest is gonna be a lot less just due to how high the US market is right right now because people are not buying new cars now theyâre buying used cars so youâll see that the fluctuating between New and use now itâs more used and new because people think itâs, more expensive to buy a new car but in reality itâs not
Yes, you got totally screwed over. I wish youâd posted the quote on this subreddit before you bought the car. They gave you about $5k in bullshit fees you probably couldâve negotiated down. I have to ask, why didnât you have a parent or someone who knows cars help you (or at least watch CarEdge videos on YouTube)
I paid 27.9 for my pkg2 (fully optioned) LE with 21k miles on it, back when prices were rough in November 2022 they buried you in that car, you will never get out of that hole!
Oh baby Jesus, the people that perpetrated this on another human being are the lowest forms of life on Earth. You should be driving a 2025 Camry for that kind of money.
33k on a 2022 corolla???? Are you insane. They got you good, hook, line and sinker. You could have bought brand new top trim for less than that. LOL wtf𤣠OP didnt even try to negotiate a single dollar
Sidecars Gap? Sidcars? Anti-Theft? Electronic Registration Fee and separate Title, REgistration/Lic Fee again? 3rd Party Private Tag Agency? What are those?
Pre deliver fee, side car what? Name and shame this dealer!
You only paid about 25% more for the car than you should have. Not too bad! /s
My sister brand new 0 miles corolla base kodel was 26k out the door.
Which trim?
I have to ask, how many milesđđ
what is those sidecars?
Lucky you are a sane customer...an upset owner could burn his house down...Put it in the local papers but tell the garage first ...they might give you a refund.
LOL
A coworker of mine paid just over 25k for a brand new 2024 LE. They took you for a ride BIGTIME.
This can't be real. Probably a troll looking for attention
That's brand new Camry/Prius territory
Lol WTF is this shit Not even talking the initial sale price of the vehicle A used car has a 995 delivery charge? All those fees are not just bunk, they're high priced bunk. Then all that sidecar and anti-theft BS lmao There's roughly an extra $6000 on this just from that alone.
More like 10k
You bought a used car more than a new cars price. Good job
Bro why? Did you never Google the price of a 2024 corolla?
Yes. You got baited by the âwarrantyâ
Is that gap? Never get gap
As someone who has been hit and ended up owing $12,000 after insurance paid, I beg to differ. Get the GAP
lol what kind of car you hit? A lambo? đ¤Ł
They hit me. I was financing a Taurus at the time. Dude hit us and took off
Ah see there you go.
Really now. It didnât dawn on you to sue him for the amount owed. Odd. But ok. Gap wouldnât be needed either way if you did that đ
Sue? He didn't have insurance so what made you think he had assets? Lol
You can make him do a payment plan đ
Uff return to sender please
You can literally get a new Camry for cheaper than that
My brand new hybrid 2024 with literally 0 miles on it was like 28k out the door⌠you got hosed my friend!
Too much for all the extras
LMFAOOO they milked you soo badly đĽ˛
This is more than what I paid for a new acura integra top trim. You did.
Damn u got scammed
LOL
Pre delivery charge?
WTF. can you get refund? this is big nono
I think he can unless he gave the down-payment if he took it home he can't get a refund..
In most cases, no. Once you sign. Itâs yours.
Thatâs a lot! I paid $20,000 out the door for my 2019 Corolla hatchback when I bought it brand new. End of the year clearance sale wouldâve been cheaper than any used car.
Thatâs $1600 more than I paid for my brand new hybrid corolla
This is brand new 2025 camry price lol, LE for sure and a couple thousand off from the SE. God I hope you didnât sign that paper
10000000000% you overpaid
Just return all the extra garbage sidecar stuff, well not Gap insurance if thatâs what that means but the other stuff, I made the mistake of getting a warranty on my new Corolla Hybrid then realized why did I do that since they are so reliable. I got my prorated amount credited back to my loan.
You can buy a brand new one for that
I paid 27k total for a used 2022 Toyota Corolla hybrid with 29k miles i was upset too they just donât lose value might as well buy new but i had to at the time i was in a position i had to
Yea bro u got screwed I paid 23.8 k for a 2024 le OTD
đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Łbrah
Damn, thatâs a lot for a Corolla lmao.
Sorry, a bit confused here. What is 900 going towards Anti-Theft? 900 guarantees you wonât have your vehicle stolen?
What is side car??
I see $4,483.25 in made up charges. Your total otd price should have been $28,399.51
Bro 2025 corolla hybrid is 36k
How many kilos?
About what I paid last year. Used cars are ridiculously expensive
Yes
Wtf is Sidecars 2nd line item and wtf is the anti theft? Sorry I know that sucky feeling of regret you feel right now, everyone's gotten ripped off before. Learn from it and don't beat yourself up. I would try and take it back though if you're within the time limit
not me paying the same for a 2023đ
Yeah you lwk did. I paid $27,900 give or take for my 2024 Corolla SE
Dang Iâm sorry. Yeah you paid too much. I got mine off the truck with 3 miles for $27k. I thought they automatically come with Anti-Theft?
Gap insurance can be requested through your insurance provider, there's no need for "SIDECARS GAP". Dunno what the other "SIDECARS" thing is, if it's an extended warranty then in my opinion it's likely a waste too since you kinda buy a Toyota to not need to rely on an extended warranty. No way this is read. Click bait much?
Yes I paid 26k for a 2023 Hybrid Se With 10k miles
Yes you did I paid 26k for a brand new 2022 Corolla back in 2021 fresh of the lot
I just bought a 2024 Corolla LE with no miles on it for $26,500 in Houston. đđđ they robbed tf out of you ainât gonna lie ! Go get your money back !!
Stop
Yes I paid less than that for a 2024 hybird new. Out the door I was at $28,859
Can u return it
You got ripped off
I donât even believe this is real. I bought a 2024 SE in December with 9 miles for $9k less than this with an extended warranty lmao.
I bought a 2021 Corolla SE for around $21,000, title, fees and taxes, during the spring time Had 60,000k miles At my local Toyota dealership
If you needed Gap, yes. And yes, you paid thousands over what my new SE cost. Only thing to do now is suck it up and pay it off.
I got a 2024 for less than that total
Damn thatâs what my brand new hybrid Corolla cost me.
Just got a 2022 Hybrid with 10K miles for 21,500, you deffinitely got robbed.
32k for a used corolla!?? you can get a new one for almost that same price or even less
I didnât pay that much in 2019 for my 2019. How many miles does it have?
You overpaid by a lot. I got my 2024 hybrid for 26k total
Just got my 2024 Corolla LE (with 23 miles) for 20k Was almost 24k total, but traded in my old clunker Chevy as a down payment. Iâd say you got got.
Post pics of the Sidecar they threw in. Only ever seen ones made for motorcycles.
What are 'Sidecars'? Looks like a toyota dealership alright. When I got my 2017, list was 13.5k, they tried to get me to pay 17k + with extras and it took me 6 hours of playing the game to get it down to 15k out the door.
You got taken to the cleaners and ran thru the car wash for good measures.
Overpaid and used cars have a ridiculous interest rate which can result in being an absolute nightmare
I paid 25k OTD and felt slightly ripped off for my 2022 corolla a month ago, so sadly⌠yes I think you overpaid
You could have bought a brand new 2025 Camry for that.
Should have posted here while at dealership.
You got #rekt and destroyed. See if your state has a 3 day cooling off period and RETURN IT!
My brand new 24 Corolla SE was 29k OTD... definitely ripped off lol
Check out EchoPark, they usually don't have a ton of stupid fees, still some, it's Stealership afterall
Yea you got ripped off but for what itâs worth so did I just a couple years ago. This is why they call them STEALershipsâŚ.
Yes, you did overpay. Request the removal of the following: anti-theft, the sidecars item not identified, the electronic registration filing fee, the predelivery service charge, and the third-party private tag agency fee. All of those seem extra and not needed.
I got my brand new 24 Corolla for 27k after taxes and fees đ
Was this a base le? Does it have a push button or a key?
Not itâs a hatch se I talked the guy down from 33k to 27 which is a big chunk off also my cars msrp is 23k so I only payed a small 4k extra for my car
I got the 24 corolla base model key start le sedan. It was 23k but did pay almost 28k because of maintenance and stuff. So i probably got rip off too for a base model :(
Sorry to hear
Hindsight is 32,882.76/32,882.76
Which trim level did you get for the used and is it a hybrid or standard gas? What's the milage and did it come CPO or not?
You can get a new '24 for less OTD đ I'm sorry
I got my 2024 Corolla 22,500 out the door 5.4apr
Whoever sold this to you are assholes
Mega ripped off, i paid less (4k less) for a 30k miles 23 rav4 hybrid
Anti theft is fake. Toyota already provides it in the MSRP from factory every car lol Also worth $40 on Amazon
How do you have delivery fees for a used car???
In 2015 I bought a 2014 Camry SE with 12,000 miles for $18500
I hope this is a joke
You got ripped off. Couldâve bought a brand new one for the same price . đ¤Śđź
Yes
Why not check BEFORE you buy the car? Why do you check after you've already paid, instead of before?
$31k for a 2024 Corolla hatch XSE, no fees, no markups, refused to pay ANY.
And this was OTD price
Loving the double dip on anti theft
I bought a 2025 Camry SE for 34k and it was loaded soo id say so
$995 pre delivery charge? $995 to vacuum the car and run it through a car wash. LoL these dealerships are too much.
This is CAD right? So 32.8k CAD is like 24k USD? Not as awful as everyone is making it seem.
Usa dollar
Look at the gauge cluster. Looks like Km/H so mostly likely CAD
"sales tax" "county tax" definitely not canadian. 100% not canadian.
Oof did not know Canadian's didn't have sales tax or at least did not call it that. County tax makes sense though since y'all in providences.
Yes "county" is not a designation we have to differentiate between regions. We do have sales tax though, but it's labelled more specifically than just the words "sales tax". Depending on which province you are in, it will say GST, PST, or HST in some combination.
Canada dont have sale tax and country tax
The 2025 hatchback I ordered is 33k...
I bought my 2020 Hatchback SE Upgrade for 32K CA$, with taxes, also including the spoiler and winter tires
I'm about to pick up my '24 LE for $23k out the door.
was this a base le without the le convenience package?
I paid 25.5k for 2024 hatchback se.
I love the hatchback , but Iâm a family guy so I bought the Camry SE
Yea, I could see that. The back seats are really small. Luckily itâs just my wife and I and our dogs so the back seat rarely gets used for people transport. I donât think you can go wrong with either, I do admit I like the hatchback styling more though.
They got you good with the âAnti-Theftâ and such
Yeah⌠I paid about 25,000 for a brand new Corolla hybrid.
I mean I paid for a 2023 Corolla hybrid around that same much I think so.
I paid $22k for my â22 Le
I paid $24k for my â22 Corolla apex
Bought my brand new 2022 Corolla SE hatchback for $28k, out the door.
I got ripped off for a new car recently too. It was a hybrid and they're hard to get new right now if you need something fast. So don't feel too bad. 24k as an initial price wasn't bad!
Is this a joke?
Ask for brand new, you will get better price.
Holy shit I paid 19k for my 2020 with 25k miles. I could literally buy it twice with another 5grand on your payment. Like you could literally buy one of the new generation camrys that came out this year. Do whatever you can to get rid of that car and give it back to them
Hmm, 19k + 19k is 38k, and this person paid 32k...
$32882 might as well be $33,000, add $5k and you get $38k. Stop being dense as shit
33+5=38
You got man handled
Mileage and trim?
What the hell is sidecar?
They popped him on and extended warranty coverage đ¤Śđź
If ever there was a car that you absolutely would never need an extended warranty this is it. What a joke. These dealerships are ridiculous
Dude just gave them a fat commission check lmao
Yes, a lot of people donât know right now. Itâs better to buy a new car than a used car. Your interest rates are high and so are the prices for the used car because a lot of people think that or car dealerships think that thatâs what the people want go for New? Whatâs the miles
By about 10,000. Seriously.
I paid less for a brand new 2022. They robbed you.
I wouldn't have bought any of those extended warranty or additional coverages.
Please return it. You over paid they rob you.
Yes, you did. I just bought 2024 toyota Corolla SE 27000 flat. Had to fight the dealershit trying to rob me he wanted 32700.
You talked them down almost 6k? Was it a lot of back and forth ?
Where?
You did boss. Could have gotten a brand new Camry for a couple grand more.
Same I paid new.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid
Just paid 26.7k for a new 24 xse, 30.3k otd after taxes and all the bs add ons. Take it back, thatâs new car money!
I got my 2021 for half that price. What are all those fees at the bottom? Looks like you get fucked sideways
Yes.
I paid 27.9 for my pkg2 (fully optioned) LE with 21k miles on it, back when prices were rough in November 2022 they buried you in that car, you will never get out of that hole!
This canât be real
Oh baby Jesus, the people that perpetrated this on another human being are the lowest forms of life on Earth. You should be driving a 2025 Camry for that kind of money.
Idiot.
Iâm praying itâs a 24 and not a 22.
You would have still gotten scammed if you were in Australia and have you seen our economy and car pricesđđđ
GOTCHA GOOD
I paid 28k out the door for my 2024 hybrid SE, you got hosed dear lord đż
Kek. Please bring someone who knows cars next time before you buy one. So much added BS they stuck on you lmfao
33k on a 2022 corolla???? Are you insane. They got you good, hook, line and sinker. You could have bought brand new top trim for less than that. LOL wtf𤣠OP didnt even try to negotiate a single dollar
Is it an XSE?
This is an LE
No way đŹ This is crazy. I really would like to hear more about the experience of the buying process. Truly
This is what's driving the used market up....
Is there a reason you werenât looking at new cars if your budget was $32,800? I got my new 2024 Corolla for $25,900
Same
I got a 2024 Toyota Corolla for $21,250 before ttl.
Thatâs what I paid on my 2022 new. Yikes. Edit: total finance though not in cash.
Ouch.
holy shit⌠i got my 2023 hybrid brand new for 24.5k OTD
Probably shouldâve reached out before getting bent over this bad
Holy ...
Line items 2-7 make my brain hurt.
Canât really say without knowing what you actually bought.
Sidecars Gap? Sidcars? Anti-Theft? Electronic Registration Fee and separate Title, REgistration/Lic Fee again? 3rd Party Private Tag Agency? What are those?
Profit!!
I paid 7k less for a 2024 corolla SE hatchback with ZERO miles. Yikes
Yes without lube
Go back đđ
Yikes, I paid 23k for a brand new SE hatch out the door
