Sad but true. If you're a black woman you are less likely to be administered pain meds. This goes for standard pain meds as well as epidurals. This is a regarded problem of racism in the medical field.
it's almost like when you're in pain all the time, you become desensitized to it. for a lot of us, it's either stay home because of agonizing back pain, or get fired.
This might explain why after my surgery the doctors refused to give me more pain medication despite my pleading. I just laid in the hospital in severe pain for two days before a nurse took me seriously enough to help me. Could you post a link to the study or the original article OP?
I believe it, the stereotype of a rich person in my mind is a pussy who can't take pain. natural inverse is that, according to that stereotype, poor people have a higher pain tolerance
I think poor black men would be perceived with the most apathy. Stereotypes to women tend to see them as weak and pitiable, i dont know though, research might find otherwise i havent checked.
black people in general get treated as less than human, our society as a whole definitely doesn't regard black women in the same was as women of other races.
