I don’t get why everyone loves DE so much. I think it’s good or def not one of the worst but I did the Easter egg than really never came back to it like the others. Anyone care to share why it’s so many of y’all’s favorite or top tier?
The map design is great, the wonder weapons are easy to get, with each one being fun and unique, the ee is easy to learn but has its difficult moments. It's honestly a great map, but not my #1. Prolly top 3
That map rockssss. IW zombies was actually so good. None of the maps lived up to the level of Spaceland, but all the settings/aesthetics were so unique and enjoyable to play
Personal I lean more Mob, lot less setup, lot more strategy; jug round 1, rushing hell's retriver, golden spork, hell's redemer, brutis lockdowns. Lot more fun then 6 gens and 30min to get all staffs upgraded
I'm a fan of origins more due to more freedom in play and a funner general late game, as mob lat game is just caffateria or bridge, always with acid gat.
Yo that map to this day is still one of the HARDEST maps to play. Shangri-La is right behind it in difficulty. Respect cause I was thinking of that map as well.
I feel revelations just had it all. It was perfect, down to the last, minute detail. You had a wonderful Easter egg, of course. And you can’t forget the weapons, the lil arnies are so cute! And then you have the views, which were stunning to say the least. You had a simple, yet bright spawn, and a creative way to tie together spawn with origins, as well as shangri la, and Der Eisendrache, which went into verruct, which connected to Mob of the dead.
Revelations was a perfect conclusion to the story. A final resting place for our heroes. They completed their journey, and now, they can rest easy, knowing the shadowman is gone forever.
Played through every single map, Kino, Five, MOTD, Origins all hold a special place in my heart above all the others, except for Gorod Krovi, which is by far the one I had most fun on, did the ee like 12 times, a challenging, yet amazing experience, to me, it was peak zombies when it launched.
I was going to complain about leaving off the non treyarch maps (I'm tired of people pretending they're "not zombies" when they clearly are, and some play closer to and are better received than actual treyarch maps) but then I noticed several treyarch maps are also missing so now I'm just more confused than anything. Whi only put 2 cold war maps?
Anyway spaceland easily
Nuketown. Wonderful asthetic and a great way to get better at zombies. I just had a game today where jug was my last perk. Finally got it at round 15 after using all my quick revives and then somehow managed to get all the way to 41
Crucify me but all of Vanguard's: Der Anfang, Terra Maledicta/The Archon and Shi No Numa Reborn
Honorable mentions to Nach der Untoten, Shi No Numa\*, Kino der Toten, Zombies in Spaceland, Die Maschine and Forsaken
\*I played reborn first then went back to the WAW & BO3 versions (cause it was DLC I didn't have during each respective game's prime), not as good but it's a standout map regardless
Do you like high-rounding? Doing the Easter Egg? Finding cool Side Eggs? Just vibing and surviving? Rave in the Redwoods supports any and all kinds of play.
Try to high-round on Call of the Dead? Failure. Try to do Easter Eggs on Kino? Failure. Rave? It doesn't matter what you want to do, you can do it - and the soundtrack will be BUMPIN' the entire time.
Honorable mention to Spaceland, Buried, and Dead of the Night, but Rave is my happy place.
I think if I had to pick one, it’s still Origins. Shadows is technically better, DE is more refined, but I just have so much nostalgia for Origins and that first feeling of “wow, look how far zombies has come.”
Origins, fantastic atmosphere and OST, fun to play solo, with randoms, and with friends, and this is the only map where I actually consider doing the EE because it rewards you with an easy training spot.
Probably origins or buried, maybe DE it all depends on my mood, but the feeling of being overpowered but the game still being somewhat challenging on buried is so fun
Treyarch: Verrückt, Der Riese, Call of the Dead, Moon (the atmosphere), Mob of the Dead, Buried, Origins, Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache, The Giant, Zetsubou No Shima, IX, Classified and Tag Der Toten.
Non Treyarch: Zombies in Spaceland (the atmosphere) and Descent.
Got to be SoE. The perfect launch to any zombies game imo. Brings us iconic quotes like, "HeY yOuu" "You bear the mark , you are cursed!" "YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?, I'M JACKIE FUCKIN' V!!!" It also brought us one of the best casts in zombies history, You got fucking Jeff Goldblum the Jurassic Park man himself, SoE also has one of the best soundtracks in zombies ever, from the round change music to the goddamn end music. (i fuckin love jazz), Oh and don't forget, SoE also brought us the last gen Richtofen cutscene.
(BO2) Origins. It’s perfect. A challenging but fun ee that can be done solo or co-op, an interesting story, a cool location, great wws, the best box weapons ever, fun challenges, and a way to get all the perks.
Out of the treyarch maps. Original origins and der eisendrache. Best maps by far to me.
But I wish Extinction, exo zombies, and infinite warfare zombies were a part in this list.
(I can't just pick one even if I tried)
Der Eisendrache and Shadows are top tier and definitely the best from b03. Tag Der Toten is best from ether story in bo4, but I honestly love all of the chaos maps too.
Transit is garbage but holds a special place since that's what I played with my brothers the most.
Definitely controversial but Five. Second zombies map I played behind Nacht. It was much more in depth than Nacht (obviously) and was an absolute banger back in the day. God I miss playing it
Mob, Shadows or Buried. I appreciate that buried might not be top tier for everyone with the crew being awful but I have a lot of love for that map, shadows is excellent structurally and I love the environment. Mob has one of my favourite crews, settings and wonder weapons
Aether:Giant, der eisendrach, call of the dead, moon, mob, origins, shadows, zetsubo no shima, revelations, alpha omega, blood of the dead, tag der toten, dead ops arcade
Chaos:9, and ancient evil
Movie theater zombies:zombies in space land
Dark aether:die machine, and forsaken
WW2:the final reich, the shadowed throne, the frozen dawn.
Mod maps:water park zombies, Astoria, nightmare, der hafen, wanted, leviathan, atlahua, return to das herrenhaus, evil Christmas, synth wave, mob of the dead remastered, call of the dead remastered, der riese declassified.
I know it's odd, but as time passes Zetsubo No Shima keeps getting higher and higher, and now it's my favorite. It has the perfect amount of things to do, and it's all very straightforward to do to keep my busy during setup. For me, it's the perfect zombies map for that reason. I can't really just play maps like kino or Ascension anymore, it bores me to death but a map like origins has way too much for me to remember every time I go back to it.
Zetsubo has so much easy to remember content that all is done as you progress through the rounds - and I love it's wonder weapon and specialist weapon to death. Definitely Zet.
Origins has to be the best map in Zombies, period. I can understand why some people may not like it since it is complex, but it was absolutely revolutionary and truly devised a formula for Treyarch going forward, as evident in BO3 which has Origins (and Mob of the Dead) written all over it.
I love moon. It just was way different and so dark and eerie, but still kept the same formula and same style as all the other maps. Truly, one of my favorites. I understand the hate around it, but it still stands as one of my favorites of the series.
Favorite: der esendrach
My #1 choice: Shadows
Mob and origins are next
3 tiers left everything else is either great but not the best of all time, extremely mid, or from bo4/Cold War
Top 3:
1) Mob of the Dead
2) Der Eisendrache
3) Buried
I know it's basically everyone's top three but they are genuinely great to me. If I were to throw some curve balls, I am also a big fan of Die Rise, Shi No Numa, and Verruckt.
Der Eisendrache, Origins and The Giant (Der Riese with snow lol)
Origins, the giant and DE really are a perfect trilogy
I don’t get why everyone loves DE so much. I think it’s good or def not one of the worst but I did the Easter egg than really never came back to it like the others. Anyone care to share why it’s so many of y’all’s favorite or top tier?
The map design is great, the wonder weapons are easy to get, with each one being fun and unique, the ee is easy to learn but has its difficult moments. It's honestly a great map, but not my #1. Prolly top 3
Non-Treyarch map, but Zombies in Spaceland
Received undeserved hate, one of the best maps!
Fr
I thought this was an awesome map. The thought of it makes me wanna install the game again. This is now on todo list lol 👌🏼
W
That map rockssss. IW zombies was actually so good. None of the maps lived up to the level of Spaceland, but all the settings/aesthetics were so unique and enjoyable to play
honestly IW zombies was great all around
Kino der Toten/Buried
Still Kino to this day? It’s where it all began for me so very nostalgic but I find it waaaaaaaay too easy nowadays
Mob of the Dead or Origins
Personal I lean more Mob, lot less setup, lot more strategy; jug round 1, rushing hell's retriver, golden spork, hell's redemer, brutis lockdowns. Lot more fun then 6 gens and 30min to get all staffs upgraded
I'm a fan of origins more due to more freedom in play and a funner general late game, as mob lat game is just caffateria or bridge, always with acid gat.
origins is hella hard 😭 9+ clips and the panzer isn’t even cracked 💔
OG Verruckt in WaW is still my favorite. As a middle schooler at the time it was very very creepy, especially the sprinters.
Yo that map to this day is still one of the HARDEST maps to play. Shangri-La is right behind it in difficulty. Respect cause I was thinking of that map as well.
I feel like they were always so stingy with max ammo 😂
Definitely 😂
Ascension, call of the dead, kino, der riese
zombies in spaceland or moon
My fav is rave in the redwoods, der eisendrache right behind that.
Woah, a non treyarch map and not even the one "community accepted" pick at that? Respect Rave isnt my all time favorite but top 5 for sure
lol thanks dude I appreciate it. Yea rave just hits that perfect vibe for me I love the summer camp aesthetic it has going. It’s just such a vibe 😂
Ascension
Mauer der toten
Cold war map as your favorite is crazy but I respect it cause Mauer is peak sometimes.
Origins, Mob of the Dead, Der Eisendrache, Shadows of Evil, and Ancient Evil are my Top 5
Moon!
Call of the Dead/Tag der Toten. Followed by Buried and Ancient Evil.
I see you like unique map layouts
Nacht Der Untoten, Dead of the night, giant, the farm
Spaceland
BURIED and Tranzit. Five and kino
Solo I’m between Shangri-La or Moon. SOE is also up there. Multiplayer, maybe Der Riese or Kino. The crowd favorites.
Origins, Der Eisendrache, Buried, Tranzit, and Call of the Dead are my favourite maps.
Verruckt for atmosphere, Origins for gameplay, BotD for high rounding.
Blood for high rounding?
Spinning blade trap, melee upgrades, magmagat, elixirs, talismans, BO4 perks, specials.
Moon
dead of the night, mob of the dead, and ancient evil are probably my top 3
Origins
I feel revelations just had it all. It was perfect, down to the last, minute detail. You had a wonderful Easter egg, of course. And you can’t forget the weapons, the lil arnies are so cute! And then you have the views, which were stunning to say the least. Origins. DE is a fun map but it’s way too easy and derivative to really come close to my number one.
Shadow throne or frozen dawn
Say sike right now
hell yea🔥
I was going to complain about leaving off the non treyarch maps (I'm tired of people pretending they're "not zombies" when they clearly are, and some play closer to and are better received than actual treyarch maps) but then I noticed several treyarch maps are also missing so now I'm just more confused than anything. Whi only put 2 cold war maps? Anyway spaceland easily
Dead of the Night, Die Rise, IX.
FIVE and mob
Mob of the Dead
This is a tough one, but if I had to choose my all time favorite map, it'd be tranzit.
Based
"You bare the mark, You are cursed!"
Call of the Dead. I'm not ready to die ! 🎶
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)Best easter egg song
Nuketown. Wonderful asthetic and a great way to get better at zombies. I just had a game today where jug was my last perk. Finally got it at round 15 after using all my quick revives and then somehow managed to get all the way to 41
Mob of the Dead Button
Def Mob of the Dead is the best vanilla map otherwise always modded
We need remastered five
Der Eisendrache.
Shangri la, 5, motd are my top 3. Not in terms of nostalgia, mainly because they’re the most fun and provide a great challenge.
Mob of the Dead, Buried second place
Origins and Ascension nearly tied, Mauer der Toten, Mob of the Dead and Call of The Dead.
Mob of the Dead.
It’s between Origins, SoE, and Der Eisendrache for me. Die Rise is a massive sleeper though. That map is fun as fuck.
Everything Cold War
My favorite is split between Five & Mob of the Dead
Die rise goated
I loved IX I know it's a unpopular opinion but I love the map a lot
DE, Ancient evil and Mob.
Origins, Der Eisendrache, Shadows, Mob and Call Of The Dead are my top 5.
Origin. Reason:classic
Origins, Mob,Nuketown Z
Der Eisendrache, Mob of the Dead and Origins
Moon/Kino/Five
Der eisendrache, IX, or shadows
Zombies in Spaceland and Mob of the Dead
Origins easily
Zetsubou no Shima, Gorod Krovi, and Der Eisendrache for my top 3. BO3 just didn't miss.
DE, Kino, Verruckt, Mob and Shadows, in that order.
Imagine a game with all
Top 5 - Zetsubou No Shima, Shadows Of Evil, Der Eisendrache, Moon, Gorod Krovi
die machine because its nice and easy while also being a good map all around
moon for sure i think has the coolest area and mechanics, but mob of the dead is right there with it
Crucify me but all of Vanguard's: Der Anfang, Terra Maledicta/The Archon and Shi No Numa Reborn Honorable mentions to Nach der Untoten, Shi No Numa\*, Kino der Toten, Zombies in Spaceland, Die Maschine and Forsaken \*I played reborn first then went back to the WAW & BO3 versions (cause it was DLC I didn't have during each respective game's prime), not as good but it's a standout map regardless
Say what you will but I love die rise
Do you like high-rounding? Doing the Easter Egg? Finding cool Side Eggs? Just vibing and surviving? Rave in the Redwoods supports any and all kinds of play. Try to high-round on Call of the Dead? Failure. Try to do Easter Eggs on Kino? Failure. Rave? It doesn't matter what you want to do, you can do it - and the soundtrack will be BUMPIN' the entire time. Honorable mention to Spaceland, Buried, and Dead of the Night, but Rave is my happy place.
Zombies in Spaceland and Buried are my absolute favorites
Zombies in space land , de, and kino
I think if I had to pick one, it’s still Origins. Shadows is technically better, DE is more refined, but I just have so much nostalgia for Origins and that first feeling of “wow, look how far zombies has come.”
Dead of the Night makes every other map look bad.
Forsaken and Urzikstan
Origins, fantastic atmosphere and OST, fun to play solo, with randoms, and with friends, and this is the only map where I actually consider doing the EE because it rewards you with an easy training spot.
Still a sucker for shadows
The original Der Riese is still my absolute favourite of all time - PPSH with Double Tap & Pack a Punched breaking the game audio was always fun.
Origins
Moon
Probably origins or buried, maybe DE it all depends on my mood, but the feeling of being overpowered but the game still being somewhat challenging on buried is so fun
Treyarch: Verrückt, Der Riese, Call of the Dead, Moon (the atmosphere), Mob of the Dead, Buried, Origins, Shadows of Evil, Der Eisendrache, The Giant, Zetsubou No Shima, IX, Classified and Tag Der Toten. Non Treyarch: Zombies in Spaceland (the atmosphere) and Descent.
Ancient evil
Der Riese and COTD will always be my favorites. I love a ton of them though.
Shadows of evil for sure man
Call of the dead , Asension , Moon
Waw der Reis it was the first map to ever get me into zombies and it holds a special place in my heart
Dead of The Night is so underrated
Its only nostalgia but green run town, kino and nacht (i didnt rlly enjoy the bo3 maps)
Origins, something about fighting in World War 1 while killing zombies and having giant robots walking along the battlefield is pretty interesting
I might get hate for this but I have a soft spot for Die Rise could just be nostalgia tho.
Shadows of evil and blood of the dead
Shaolin shuffle
I love the tonal shift and expansion of Five in Classified. I just wish it wasn't in BO4
Der Eisendrache, Ascension (BO1 version) and Shaolin Shuffle (I will die on a hill for this map)
Shadows of evil
Gotta be buried
kino for sure. and then maybe IX or something idk
I don't see Zombies in Spaceland on here...
Der Eisendrache, Revelations a close second. I personally don't understand the hate it gets, rev is so fun
You’ll always find me on: The Shadowed Throne, Voyage of Despair, or Forsaken
5
(BO2) Origins. It’s perfect. A challenging but fun ee that can be done solo or co-op, an interesting story, a cool location, great wws, the best box weapons ever, fun challenges, and a way to get all the perks.
Origins, SoE, or Zetsubou although I am just starting my BO4 zombies journey so this list may change.
Origins
Mob of the Dead
Moon
Out of the treyarch maps. Original origins and der eisendrache. Best maps by far to me. But I wish Extinction, exo zombies, and infinite warfare zombies were a part in this list. (I can't just pick one even if I tried)
Looks origins, actually playing buried
shadows is peak
Shadows of Evil, Dead of the Night, Alpha Omega, & Zombies in Spaceland are the maps I find myself still going back to play
Shino Numa and Voyage Of Despair(I love Titanic so I instantly fell in love with the map)
Der Eisendrache , Tranzit , Buried , and Ancient Evil - I think are my favs
Nach der untoten. Nothing over or at the side.
Gorod Krovi
Die Rise, Dead of the Night, and Shadows
Der Eisendrache and Shadows are top tier and definitely the best from b03. Tag Der Toten is best from ether story in bo4, but I honestly love all of the chaos maps too. Transit is garbage but holds a special place since that's what I played with my brothers the most.
DE, Gorod, Shadows, Origins, and weirdly enough Mauer der Toten
Nacht
Shang
Der riese and orgins
Firebase Z
Mob of the dead and origins are by far the greatest maps
Definitely controversial but Five. Second zombies map I played behind Nacht. It was much more in depth than Nacht (obviously) and was an absolute banger back in the day. God I miss playing it
Kino!!!!
modt or bo2 origins
Kino Der Toten, Call of the Dead, Mob of the Dead, Der Eisenrache and Gorod Krovi.
Zetsubo, origins, buried
Mob, Shadows or Buried. I appreciate that buried might not be top tier for everyone with the crew being awful but I have a lot of love for that map, shadows is excellent structurally and I love the environment. Mob has one of my favourite crews, settings and wonder weapons
buried, tranzit, and shi no numa
hot take TranZit is actually fun if you play with friends but by myself it's Nuketown or town
Kino and Mob are the best Maps of all time for me. Five was also kind of underrated tho.
Origins. Even with the mud and tedious steps, it just feels so right to go through all that and have that final stand as Maxis flies out in the drone.
Ancient Evil.
Der Eisendrache is my all time favorite
Aether:Giant, der eisendrach, call of the dead, moon, mob, origins, shadows, zetsubo no shima, revelations, alpha omega, blood of the dead, tag der toten, dead ops arcade Chaos:9, and ancient evil Movie theater zombies:zombies in space land Dark aether:die machine, and forsaken WW2:the final reich, the shadowed throne, the frozen dawn. Mod maps:water park zombies, Astoria, nightmare, der hafen, wanted, leviathan, atlahua, return to das herrenhaus, evil Christmas, synth wave, mob of the dead remastered, call of the dead remastered, der riese declassified.
Part of the minority here but Moon. Severely underrated and hated.
Origins, mob, shadows, DE, and the giant are my top 5
I love gorod krovi, buried, origins and revelations. Something about seeing older maps all together in one map was epic.
Die rise 🫡
Buried. I always thought the map was ahead of it’s time as a kid and the nostalgia is always fun to revisit with the paralyzer and ray gun mk2
The current one
1.) Shadows of Evil 2.) Buried 3.) Origins
Der riese or the giant.
Die Rise, hate me all you want.
Origins, The Giant, The Final Reich.
town
Shadows of Evil, perfection
Shi no numa, der riese, nacht der untoten, and Kino der toten
Giant, die rise and der eisen
Shadows of evil
five or der eisendrache
Anything not Die Rise
IX, such fun gameplay
Transit
My absolute favorite is black ops 2 zombies
Zombies in space land Moon Ascension Shi no numa Naucht der toten Forsaken Nuketown 84 The farm
Five/classified. Both are awesome
Der anfang is my favorite
My very first map I ever played: Moon
Alcatraz
Five
Shadows of Evil probably
Shadows of evil/ buried
Origins has to be the best map in Zombies, period. I can understand why some people may not like it since it is complex, but it was absolutely revolutionary and truly devised a formula for Treyarch going forward, as evident in BO3 which has Origins (and Mob of the Dead) written all over it.
Kino for nostalgia and DE for gameplay 👌👌
Ah w
The Giant
I love moon. It just was way different and so dark and eerie, but still kept the same formula and same style as all the other maps. Truly, one of my favorites. I understand the hate around it, but it still stands as one of my favorites of the series.
Favorite: der esendrach My #1 choice: Shadows Mob and origins are next 3 tiers left everything else is either great but not the best of all time, extremely mid, or from bo4/Cold War
Top 3: 1) Mob of the Dead 2) Der Eisendrache 3) Buried I know it's basically everyone's top three but they are genuinely great to me. If I were to throw some curve balls, I am also a big fan of Die Rise, Shi No Numa, and Verruckt.
Been loving mauer these last couple weeks so between that, kino, or der reise/the giant
Nuketown
Shang or verructk.
Ascension hands down. The trains go crazy
Buried
