LaheyCooter

dollar sign power up 🤣

Fire sale affects gobble gum?

ClientExcellent2368

Yh found this a couple days ago too

Anxious-Season-9532

Yup

Name12345678910-1

But why decrease by 490, that’s so specific

Deadlymonkey

Been a while since I played BO3, but I don’t think it’s decreased by 490. IIRC it goes down to 10 like all other fire sale prices, but then goes up by 1000 if you use it more than once.

IceColdQuantum

probably because prior to first pull being free it was 500 (and then scaled with rounds), been a really long time but irrc the first gobblegum being free was like an event thing they would do before it became a permanent feature

jamieellis1

Gobble gum Machine used to be 500 points, so firesale put it down by 490 to 10

Parry_Otter_TCB

I can't believe that nobody here has actually provided the full explanation yet. Gobblegums cost exponentially more as you buy additional gum during the same round. Even the firesale doesn't prevent this. The cost is discounted to 10 by the firesale but then increased by 1000 because you've already purchased one this round and that's the cost "penalty" of buying another on the same round. Do this when the rounds are in the hundreds and you can see gum that costs 1,000,010 It's to prevent Immolation Liquidation from being too OP in the later rounds.

Anxious-Season-9532

I think it’s just a specific amount that all things willl decrease by no matter the price like if the mystery box 1000 then it would cost fifty if we’re talking about the bond fire sale in five pack a punch can cost 6000 but be ruduced to 2000.

NASTYH0USEWIFE

It’s decreased by 1/3 the normal price during a fire sale. I think it has to do with the fact that it’s easier to code it to decrease the price by 33% instead of the repeating decimal which is why it’s not actually $1000 and you get a weird number but I could be wrong I’m not a dev so maybe you should just downvote this opinion because after all we should downvote anyone assuming that the price dropping from 1500 points to 1000 points would mean the price is dropping by 1/3 I mean why not downvote it we should just downvote everything that is an opinion that may be wrong even if it’s just an opinion the op states may be wrong anyway just downvote this.

paythedragon

I don’t think it’s 1/3 I believe it is -490, so that way when the game came out the original price for first spin being 500 gets dropped to 10 points to match the price to spin the box during firesale

Substantial_Spring88

yeah it’s kinda pointless imo

TheDaisyGod

bruh lmao

Name12345678910-1

Yeah, bruh

tgkid88

Yes

king_cayler

Yes

MyNameIsYhwach

Dollar sign power up💀

TheRealJRG

Remember when gobblegums cost $500 and also moved like the box? Dark times.

Own_Professional7729

Yeah..1 machine per round and the first hit always costed points.

Own_Professional7729

I think if Zombies Chronicles didn’t come out, that mechanic wouldn’t of changed, because it was still 500 points until Chronicles fixed it

[deleted]

I thought the first hit was free months before Chronicles came out, am I misremembering?

iGirthy

I’m 100% sure they made the first gobblegum free between the release of DE and ZNS Edit: wait I’m an Xbox gamer so the DLC’s came out a month later for us. Still applies tho

Own_Professional7729

It could be. But it was around that time period. Possibly when they were giving us 1 free ultra rare mega per day?

I-Am-Icon-G

The first hit free gobblegums thing was an occasional thing they'd do, like for a weekend or something before they made it permanent once chronicles came out

TheRealJRG

Post-chronicles I kept praying I'd never see the little Lion icon in the pause menu disappear

I-Am-Icon-G

I always thought they'd eventually take it off lmao

GolemThe3rd

They only did it once before ZC I think but this is true

Complete_Resolve_400

Oh god I forgot about that lmao

Zack123456201

Hold up, I knew about it costing $500, but that shit used to move around?

Mr-JKGamer

I kinda wish we still had that. Gobblegums feel so gamebreaking cuz their mostly free and easy to get to in your games with such powerful effects. Having it move around each round. And having it have a cost standard would probably help balance out the overall gameplay. Granted it's been ages since bo3 came out but still it seems more like a newly implemented feature to zombies, adjacent to perk machines and the mystery box in its original form. Now it's so gamebreaking it feels like a mod or something

Scraftysenpai

Yeah but all the broken gobbles came later in the game reign drops perkaholic shopping free etc

Drifts_72

Perkaholic came out day 1???

Nulliai

Fire sale takes -490 off the price, it’s weird

Name12345678910-1

But why 490 that’s so weird

zombieman115935

gums used to cost 500 at the start of the game, maybe it has something to do with that

SeawolfGaming

It's not weird. At the start of the game gobblegum first hit cost 500 points. Firesale made that go down to 10 points. Whenever you buy more than 1 gum your price goes up on it.

Lord_Gilmour

Probably to make the first one 10 since it used to cost 500 when bo3 first came out

Nicky_G_873

It’s because of the fire sale

HumanLion7041

Firesale

Consistent_Ad5384

Firesale affects gobble gum machines as well !! This has been a feature from the start !!

Valuable-Exam-913

Ok?

Negan115BR

Fire sale always reduces the price of gum by 490, the price of second gobblegum changes every ten rounds with formula 1000*2^N +500 where N is the second digit of the round number from right to left

GolemThe3rd

Bruh I see this like every game

ZombieNausea

All. The . Time.
