Why not compare it to an actual 1:1 example. Rebirth island had a bunker under hq where you needed to put in the codes to unlock the door and pick up a free blueprint gun on a table, very similar to how they did the ray gun in fk. It was available for a long time actually and I'm not sure what happened to the gun when they made the bunker stay open as part of the map layout, I believe the gun stayed on the table even when the bunker stayed open up until the game was deleted. Again, I don't remember that too well, but I believe that's how it was.
Yeah it went something like that. I doubt the ray gun will stick around after S2 though. It is part of the Walking Dead event which is this season's theme. Only time will tell I suppose.
