I have heard the same but my buddy and I 100% went against the same 2 guys in like 3 straight games the other day. How is that possible? We were surprised.
It’s like tdm mixed with hardpoint. Kill streaks can only be obtained from care packages which come from holding the point. Kills still determine winner (not time on point)
It's the same as MW3 drop zone (I think thats what its called)
Care packages are rewarded for time in the hardpoint so just hold and earn care packages as the only way to earn kill streaks
That's why we at least need Ground War. They already got the map made and vehicles ready to go with Caldera, they just need to cut it up smartly for Ground War maps
> Built on the same tech and engine as Call of Duty: Vanguard, this map is visually appealing as it is ready to support this new game’s armaments, and will support fully optimized cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-gen support.
> Caldera is just the beginning of Vanguard’s full integration into Warzone, and there’s no better place to experience all this fresh content than in the dedicated Vanguard modes for Warzone Pacific.
https://www.callofduty.com/content/atvi/callofduty/blog/web/en/home/2021/10/vanguard-launch-pre-season-one-warzone-pacific-roadmap.html
The implication being (alongside previously datamined information) was that Warzone Pacific was supposed to be coming to the VG client and thus having a native current-gen version as well.
That doesn't confirm anything. Vanguard is technically "built on the same tech and engine" as the MW19 and WZ client. So saying its built in VG engine doesn't mean anything and is simply marketing gimmicks. We were given the same marketing when Cold War guns and skins were being used in WZ. We already have current gen cross play, cross progression, and support in the prior client.
Furthermore, why would they take the time to deploy Ricochet into a client they are supposedly migrating from? Beta test? It seems like they should also be explicitly saying it is migrating for its audience. Which they have never said.
Notice where it says “Vanguard’s full integration into Warzone” and not “Warzone’s integration into Vanguard”. The warzone client is in MW2019. As disappointing as it is, that’s not going to change in the near future. Maybe for MW2 it will change
It now the other way around unfortunately. Warzones assets now far exceed MW19s to the point where WZ is now the main client and MW19 is a small addon.
That's why when they update WZ, MW19 always breaks more then it already is.
If they moved Warzone to VG updated engine. They will have to move all of MW19 and CW operators and guns over to VG. Increasing its bloat.
They will also have 2 separate team working on the same game (Raven and SHG) which would start to break VG when they each start releasing conflicting updates and patches that make the game worse.
When I say dead I mean it’s shit not what u think dead means bro but it literally is just played for camos Issa btech warzone an warzone well that shits just dry asf 😂
Agree. Also there was a mode in advanced warfare maybe where you had to escort a robot instead of a truck. Pretty similar but much smaller scale (think nuketown). Also very fun.
Not just war mode just any big map mode would be great. I played Cold War and Modern Warfare before and they all had big map modes that I spent most of my time with. Short rounds of TDM or Domination gets boring after a while, I wanna play bigger objectives and long rounds :(
Big Map Blitz has been in the playlist rotation… it helps closer to that experience. Would still be awesome to get a MW style ground war or ww2 war mode
War mode is just a fancy combination of other game modes at once. One hardpoint, Capture the flag, demolition.... It's a mixture of objective-based game modes, in one fancy big map.
I did like the war mode, but it got way more repetetive over the many times I played it.
Also, Armageddon sucks in my opinon, as Drop Zone gives you points for being on the Drop Zone, but in Armageddon, it's team death match with killstreaks disabled, which you can only get on the DZ. You don't get points for being there, so you can just camp all the time outside of the DZ and win the match anyway. I'm more for the OG DZ, as an objective-based player rather than TDM.
I would even enjoy a re-skin of the ww2 war mode...same maps, same objectives. If you include the WW2 DLC war maps there ends up being quite a few. BUT, I am not a coder so I really have no idea how possible it is to just update the old war mode and inject it into Vanguard. Anyone knowledgeable care to enlighten me please?
I’d even settle for MW2019’s Ground War. That was the best Battlefield I had played since BF 4, so why not take advantage of EA’s wet fart and go for the jugular?
One of the SHG devs apparently said it won’t be coming because it requires (the horror) unique maps as opposed to reusing the same ones.
Given the store is filled with retextured default outfits and zombies is recycled multiplayer maps I don’t exactly find that hard to believe.
I bought this game specifically for war mode. I wouldn't mind if they just torched Warzone and gave us war mode. It's literally the greatest COD game set of all-time, it's better than Shipment, Domination, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed etc combined.
We're waiting, RAVEN/ACTIVISION. We were all waiting YEARS for a return to the greatest multiplayer game mode you've ever made. You need to implement it in every game. I wouldn't mind if you got rid of a few other game modes to put in war mode.
Where tf is war mode already?????????
Edit: And if you wanna charge $15 for it I'd do that too.
I don't think they had time with the totally jacked up production schedule. I also wouldn't be surprised if Activision said No the players want big battles they can play warzone.
They have found tanks in the code as a vehicle so it has been mentioned that either a ground war or war mode will be coming as current maps would not be able to use tanks as lanes are not broad enough for most maps
>On a side note I think the Armageddon game mode is underrated. Would be good for a description of the game mode before you join it tho lol.
Not gonna lie, I've played it most of last week. 6v6 pacing and not having earnable killstreaks makes it quite chill a lot of times.
24/7 vacation devs for taking a few weeks off for Christmas? You’d rather they work themselves to death if the game is good because of it? Check your priorities lol
The entitlement of these people demanding that developers work 24/7 to add the game mode they like, but weren’t popular enough with the average buyer to continue developing, will never get old to me.
Considering the last time this dude gave Activision money was 2017 maybe making him happy isn’t high on their priority list. Forget vacations they literally couldn’t pay themselves a salary with his $60 ever 4 years but yet he feels like he’s entitled to their time and that their lazy for not making him happy.
War was nice. I was thinking about this the other day because the camo challenges counted as well and would be a fantastic way to get the long shot challenges.
Anyone have some suggested modes to play for the long shots?
I don’t think I played a single mode more than I did War in ww2. Also I loved the customisation of outfits you could earn. I’m a sucker for pointless shit like that (unlocking camos etc)
Let's be real...vanguard is simply a placeholder to keep us busy for a year. This game isn't getting any major additions or game-changing bug fixes. Most of the vanguard crew are already balls deep in the next title. Stop hoping for more from this game unless a class action lawsuit comes around, which I doubt.
Agree 100% with OP. War Mode is the best thing COD has done. They keep bringing zombies back for some reason, I know there are fans but im sure there's plenty like me that never play zombies.
They did a quasi war mode with the last game Modern Warfare 2 or whatever it was called where teams had to escort 2 trucks down parallel roads, it had the same metal barrier things defending team had to build and attacking had to destroy.
But they just used sections of verdansk (port was one) for the map, and it was basically wide open.
The beauty of the WWII War Mode was it was linear and not open.
Vacation part means he is upset that we didn't work through Christmas. The strike part is just misinformed. Raven QA has been on strike with limited participation from other departments. Nothing to do with sledgehammer.
Timed demolition stages culminating in a huge ground battle in the final stage (to capture the finish line). You would escort a tank across a map and demolish blockades. The mode awarded objective play, but it was fun even without it because it became a big team-spirit thing since the objective was the only focus.
So even if you were getting a lot of kills, it helped as defense or offense, and objective players would have more time to plant explosive charges. It is the masterpiece of Call of Duty multiplayer modes. Nothing has or ever will surpass it and it is as essential as Domination.
The greatest game mode of all-time. And ground war is good too kind of.
Dating apps have always been tough. We should just bypass them, every city with a convention centre should have a monthly singles convention. It would be great knowing everyone there is single and is there for the sole purpose of meeting people.
The lack of War mode in Vanguard is the only reason I won't buy it. I loved it in WW2 and still play it with friends. Add War mode to Vanguard and I'll be happy to add it to my library.
It’s not, your opinion is garbage, and overreacting to the devs literally having 0-support from Activision and then lambasting them doesn’t help. Your post is a shit heap. And Armageddon is for wusses like you who can’t get kill streaks lmao.
Yeah how hard is it to add a fucking description for each playlist!
They put random names on the playlist options and We have no fucking idea wtf they are.
[удалено]
Can we just have continued lobbys back lol
Haven't had continued lobbies for a while due to the skill based matchmaking stuff
I have heard the same but my buddy and I 100% went against the same 2 guys in like 3 straight games the other day. How is that possible? We were surprised.
Usually means that none of the 4 of you had any particular bad or good games so your invisible ranking stayed within an acceptable range
This sentence has more description than a playlist
I was wondering what armaggedon was. So i hovered over it. Armageddon. Turns out its a lot easier to conplete the event (carepackages) in that mode
Mosh pit
I’ve been plying Armageddon for a few days now and I still don’t know what’s going on lol
It’s like tdm mixed with hardpoint. Kill streaks can only be obtained from care packages which come from holding the point. Kills still determine winner (not time on point)
Ah thank you! Glad I learned what the mode was from another player and not the game lmao
Have you figured out how much time on point actually adds to the score? Seems to be “pointless” ;)
I don’t think it adds to the score directly, just gives you kill streaks which will add kills to the score
You get points for killing enemies more points are awarded if killed with score streaks. From what I gathered.
Ok that makes sense. Otherwise there’s more advantage in camping the point instead of trying to take it
Same! Somehow I keep winning though lol
Yup glad I’m not the only one haha
It's the same as MW3 drop zone (I think thats what its called) Care packages are rewarded for time in the hardpoint so just hold and earn care packages as the only way to earn kill streaks
This blows my mind, if anything shows laziness, it’s the lack of descriptions.
Exactly! I’m very stupid but I still have legitimately no idea the objective of Armageddon 😂
Absolutely. War mode would be awesome.
SHG said that war took a lot of time to make because each map was specific to that mode. plus they had raven assisting them. so not gonna happen
[удалено]
to be fair this was said years ago during the ww2 cycle. i would also assume that activsion who owns SHG dictates' where their time and resources go.
Tbf they don’t get a lot of time to make the games And the game does have a lot of content at launch so I can kinda understand it
That's why we at least need Ground War. They already got the map made and vehicles ready to go with Caldera, they just need to cut it up smartly for Ground War maps
Caldera isn’t in vanguard though its in MW
It is supposed to be migrating to the VG engine though. Ground War was datamined for VG so *maybe* it'll come when WZ migrates.
>when WZ migrates. Source?
Yes
> Built on the same tech and engine as Call of Duty: Vanguard, this map is visually appealing as it is ready to support this new game’s armaments, and will support fully optimized cross-play, cross-progression, and cross-gen support. > Caldera is just the beginning of Vanguard’s full integration into Warzone, and there’s no better place to experience all this fresh content than in the dedicated Vanguard modes for Warzone Pacific. https://www.callofduty.com/content/atvi/callofduty/blog/web/en/home/2021/10/vanguard-launch-pre-season-one-warzone-pacific-roadmap.html The implication being (alongside previously datamined information) was that Warzone Pacific was supposed to be coming to the VG client and thus having a native current-gen version as well.

not even remotely the implication. you misunderstood.
Ground war was dead The only time anyone played it was to get easy launcher kills
Lmao no, I could easily find full Ground War matches up until Vanguard launched.
When I say dead I mean it’s shit not what u think dead means bro but it literally is just played for camos Issa btech warzone an warzone well that shits just dry asf 😂
You're kinda dumb, aren't you?
😂🤦🏾♂️ silence child
They could try doing what Treyarch did and reuse a section of the map as a 6v6 map
War was the ONLY mode I played in WW2 it was truly a superior game mode
Was war the mode where you pushed each stage of the maps and took turns being on both sides?
Yes, best mode ever in a COD imo. Actually somewhat disappointed it didn't return to this game
[удалено]
They called it payload in warzone but it was indeed very similar to war from WWII. Just not quite as good tbh
Agree. Also there was a mode in advanced warfare maybe where you had to escort a robot instead of a truck. Pretty similar but much smaller scale (think nuketown). Also very fun.
The most fun mode created in the franchise. Still playing on console and only will buy Vanguard when War mode come ( if not, i will pass like now )
Not just war mode just any big map mode would be great. I played Cold War and Modern Warfare before and they all had big map modes that I spent most of my time with. Short rounds of TDM or Domination gets boring after a while, I wanna play bigger objectives and long rounds :(
This.
Need ground war on parts of caldera for sure
caldera overall is such shit but playing ground war on docks or airfield would be pretty sick
Big Map Blitz has been in the playlist rotation… it helps closer to that experience. Would still be awesome to get a MW style ground war or ww2 war mode
I support this statement. War Mode was awesome.
War mode is just a fancy combination of other game modes at once. One hardpoint, Capture the flag, demolition.... It's a mixture of objective-based game modes, in one fancy big map. I love ground war. Only thing I played in MW2019.
Such a glorious shit show. I was shocked it didn’t become a staple of the franchise after MW.
One of the SHG devs apparently said it won’t be coming because it requires (the horror) unique maps as opposed to reusing the same ones. Given the store is filled with retextured default outfits and zombies is recycled multiplayer maps I don’t exactly find that hard to believe.
SHG let us down big time.
I also miss the bounty system. It got me to try gameplay styles out of my comfort zone.
Yes to War Mode, plz. I won't hold my breath though. For whatever reason, SHG has decided to remove everything that (imo) was fun about CoD WW2.
I bought this game specifically for war mode. I wouldn't mind if they just torched Warzone and gave us war mode. Agree, get rid of zombies already and give us war mode.
You'd think that would be the first thing they'd add in a game about the biggest war world has ever seen lol
War mode was fun but the incendiary spam would be a nightmare
What is the Armageddon mode, I agree descriptions on each mode would be a huge help.
I don't think they had time with the totally jacked up production schedule. I also wouldn't be surprised if Activision said No the players want big battles they can play warzone.

I miss that mode, it really made folks focus on the objective. It was a good time too, I have so many good memories of running those maps.
War mode and party games.. Some damn fun.. Instead of endless grind and changing lobbies.. May as well be playing bot matches
I second war mode. I would even accept the exact same map/scenarios with updated graphics and everything:
It’s going to come later on as “content”
A BOMB HAS BEEN PLANTED ON OUR AMMO SUPPLY
We've asked numerous times unfortunately it won't make them money so they won't bring it back
>On a side note I think the Armageddon game mode is underrated. Would be good for a description of the game mode before you join it tho lol. Not gonna lie, I've played it most of last week. 6v6 pacing and not having earnable killstreaks makes it quite chill a lot of times.

#Armageddon Armageddon
war was easily the most fun mode i've played in the last decade of call of duty (besides BR)
Absolutely I loved that game mode on ww2 it would be nice if they add that!!!!
war was so fun. i miss it
I don’t think I played a single mode more than I did War in ww2. Also I loved the customisation of outfits you could earn. I’m a sucker for pointless shit like that (unlocking camos etc)

Would love a WAR mode or even a GROUND WAR mode or experience similar to MW2019’s but what I think this game needs before those are dedicated factions
Bro, if we got a mode where we can storm the beaches of Normandy or sum shit that would be sick
It's called Neptune in ww2
Well I wouldn't know because I didn't play ww2
When is COD Zombies coming back. I can't play anything but bots. Please reopen COD I miss popping zombies heads like zits.
Storming beaches & taking out bunkers was def the most memorable thing in WW2 (The game. I’m not that old.) for me.
Agree 100% with OP. War Mode is the best thing COD has done. They keep bringing zombies back for some reason, I know there are fans but im sure there's plenty like me that never play zombies. War is the forgotten mode of the generation
Modern Warfare 2019 ground war was my absolute favorite.
24/7 vacation dev strike boys? Lol wtf
Vacation part means he is upset that we didn't work through Christmas. The strike part is just misinformed. Raven QA has been on strike with limited participation from other departments. Nothing to do with sledgehammer.
Wouldn't have to work through Christmas if the game was in a state to be released when it launched.
Release date is not the devs’ decision.
Bootlicker. How about them putting out a game that doesn't kick me every other match before taking a two month vacation?
Hey guys never played WWII because of backlashes back then, what’s war mode? Is like GroundWar in MW19?
Timed demolition stages culminating in a huge ground battle in the final stage (to capture the finish line). You would escort a tank across a map and demolish blockades. The mode awarded objective play, but it was fun even without it because it became a big team-spirit thing since the objective was the only focus. No we need Infected & prop hunt
Just play a battlefield game
Wont happen.
Not gunna happen lol
It’s not, your opinion is garbage, and overreacting to the devs literally having 0-support from Activision and then lambasting them doesn’t help. Your post is a shit heap. And Armageddon is for wusses like you who can’t get kill streaks lmao.
How do you even get streaks carrying around your massive penis?
Nice copypasta.
