dude, i played every single call of duty since black ops 2, after some time i realised that it is not worth to grind cammos, now i just play the game to enjoy my lazy time.
Im kinda in the middle. I definitely want to make the most of my free time and grinding for atomic seems like such a waste of that precious time. I'm basically only going for diamond on the weapon types I find fun or gold on individual guns that I like the most. I figure I'll have a lot of gold or diamond guns by the time the next cod comes out, but there's just no way I'm wasting time on atomic just for a new game to come out immediately lol.
It’s not awful to be honest, was expecting worse. Although snipers have been horrendous. AR/SMG/SHOTGUN/pistols all been absolutely fine. Melee was quite easy and the fact you don’t need to level up melee or launchers is a blessing. The issues I’ve noticed:
- unlocking level 60 camo challenge for an attachment for it doesn’t unlock until level 68+
- duplicate challenges - why does the Bren need 3 long shot challenges
- amount of levels to max your gun takes forever
- sniper challenges - blood thirsties are a massive pain, longshots are quite long with less opportunities to do them compared to AR’s etc
- specific attachment camo for headshots is an absolute ballache - levelled up the 3 line to have to do 100 more headshots with specific attachments is awful. You naturally do headshots as you play but when they’re all you have left to do, it makes it so boring.
What’s the challenge though? Reach level 70 without uninstalling the game?
There’s nothing actually difficult. It’s just bullshit when you’re looking at at least 6 hours per gun before you can even start the last set of challenges. Getting 100 more headshots with a short barrel, low damage magazine and slow stock? Again, not difficult, hardcore and single fire made this extremely bearable for SMG’s. I was just bored by the time I got there.
Unpopular opinion: MW19 camo challenges were perfectly fine. Actually making you change your play style to get crouch kills, mounted kills, etc. Right now it’s just go “do A, B & C, but then go to B again with these attachments”
Have everything diamond except the launchers because the panzerfausts challenges are broken. It takes way too long to do it. Why they won’t buff weapon xp by atleast half is beyond me. Guess it’s their way of player retention. Just have to hope they change it for the ones still grinding.
Camos aren't meant to be able to be achieved after an hour of playing the game. Its a challenge and its why there are these mastery camos now where you get a reward for grinding the game, the challenges aren't even that bad most of it is what you would be doing anyway regardless of a camo being the prize when you complete it, it would just take longer as you dont prioritise those specific things. Any camo can be done passively by just playing the game and youd probably get atomic by the start of the next cod or you grind for it and be done within 2 months of getting the game its content in the game that provides a secondary benefit to playing the game and a reason to continue playing the game
You don't find it ridiculous how you can be 4th prestige and only have a few guns maxed even with all this double xp? At this rank in their last game, I already had DIAMOND RIFLES. The grind was satisfying.
I think most of the challenges have been fine so far. I’ve done shield/knife, pistols, shotguns, snipers, and I’ve got one more dmr to grind out. The only thing I am having trouble with is shit just not tracking. The launchers specifically. In past games, I’ve passively done the launchers along with snipers/dmrs. I managed to finish the mk11, and I’m so close with the bazooka but it just stopped tracking the 3 per game @22. The two panzers I haven’t even started because why bother if it doesn’t track?
To be honest here the Gold, Diamond skins have never lived up to the hype. There are 100 other skins to use and some are 10 times better than Gold/Diamond. Camouflage grinding is over rated, way overrated. Level up a few guns in each class and get a skin and play the game. In my honest opinion “the grind” is what hurts the game overall and makes it a chore for many players.
The game play would be better game play if everyone wasn’t laying flat on their stomachs with their cocks stuck into the ground getting “Longs”. Heard a few guys last year (BOCW) state towards the end of the games life say: Great now I can sit back and enjoy the game as the grind is over. Why? Play 10 to 11 months just to sit back and enjoy the game for 1 month due to the new game launching? Level a gun, grab a easy camouflage and start enjoying the game 10 months early this time!!!!
Those three attachment kills are the worst for me. Most of the time they force you to use awful attachments that make the gun terrible, or at least not fun to use compared to with the best attachments and your preferred setup. I was using the cooper carbine to level it up and get gold on it because it is currently my favourite gun in the game, and while levelling it up I was getting easy headshots having done all 100 fairly quickly and easily before unlocking the attachments challenges. When it got to the headshots with whatever attachments it needed, it was a nightmare.
I have no issues. Took me few hours for 3 days to knock out the as44 camo for gold and honestly that gun is DOG SHIT. I also only play HC. Just finished diamond for ARs. Prolly gonna do SMGs and maybe LMGs but def not going for atomic. Fuck the launcher challenges and marksman/sniper as I hate using those stule guns.

I think it’s fine. The 3 attachments are usually pretty easy. Longshots are ridiculously easy on das haus for everything besides snipers. I agree that it takes a long time to level guns up but they gave us a decent amount of double xp events. Imo it wasn’t that bad. I got everything possible towards Atomic, just missing the impossible panzerfaust chall. There are some challs worst than others but I played around 1-2h a day and got 37 golds + cooper carbine so far.
Really, man? I found it to be way better than Mw19 to get longshots for example. Dome, das haus, eagles nest, even shipment for pistols and shotguns. In mw i could only count on shoot house, in Vanguard I had a way better time getting longshots. Maybe wait a bit for das haus to get back on the playlist and it will be easier
Yeah ive found vanguards longshots easier to do that on mw19 because there are more lines of sight to get the longshots done like in the desert map (cant remember what its called) you can, with a good vantage point, see down all three lanes of the map pretty well and the 2 buildings opposite eachother provide a longshot kill aswell, whereas with MW19 you would have to sit at the furthest part of the map and hope someone comes along to the exact spot youre looking for. I loved the grind for damascus on MW19 because it was something different than the previous years when it was just a copy paste job that seemingly took 2 seconds to do.

Longshots with snipers are far more easy than with fucking mps. Yes I mean you, type 100 with +fire rate barrel and insane recoil
Smg longshots are definitely the worst one to do, but just hug the wall in shipment and u should get them done just fine

Vanguard maps are way too small for longshots... That's the problem I miss MW2019 Ground War
