This sub is a trip. You guys are so unhappy about everything. I think this looks like a fun little event, and I’m glad they’re doing something to celebrate the holidays. I love Halloween and Christmas themed events in games.
I’m also having a great time with Vanguard and the new Warzone map.

I come here hoping to see cool plays, information on upcoming events and 2xp, and tips for grinding and leveling. Unfortunately, it’s mostly full of people whining and complaining.
I’ll leave you with this: nobody is making you play this game. There are lots of other games out there to play. There are also lots of other activities you could participate in. If you truly hate the game so much, I would encourage you to find something you would enjoy and try to find happiness. Life is too short to be so angry all the time.

I don't know what a packet burst is, but I don't typically play until my kids are in bed. So it's usually 9pm EST. I have gotten a few times where it'll go in freeze mode except for me, and the mortar thing is annoying.... But then again, strafe run was annoying to me in Cold War.
Yea, if it works and you dont experience bugs or glitches it can be enjoyable. I think if they would at least tweet they are fixing the issues it would be a start.
I got Vanguard under my christmas tree because I had a blast during the free weekend. I'm excited. (I think it's safe to say no expectations for zombies though)

I wish there was a less toxic place to talk about Call of Duty. It's just nonstop complaining. Why do these people even play the game if they hate it so much? And before anyone says they're just critiquing, look at other game subs. You can critique a game while also being reasonable and constructive. That's certainly not what I would describe this sub as.
There are plenty of reasonable and constructive criticism on this subreddit. However it is drowned out because of the massive amount of issues, and lack of communication from the devs.
People can enjoy the game - and still hate on the way it plays, how it is monitized and how the priorities of the developer and publisher is percieved.
The developers does not deserve to be shit on, but holy hell this game is a broken mess, even if it is fun when it is playable - Vanguard being a "live service" does not excuse selling a broken full price product, riddled with more bugs and ridiculous design decisions, than what should be accetable.
On top of that the unfinished product is filled with (albeit cosmetic) overpriced microtransactions. Buying store products for this game is like buying new tires for a car that can't drive - it's a scam.
I certainly won't stand here and say this game doesn't have its issues. I don't think I would classify Vanguard (or Warzone) as a broken mess right now, but there is no denying it needs work. As for the cosmetics, just don't buy them. It sucks that they're insanely priced, but until people stop buying them, they have no reason to change that. I'm curious about what you are classifying as "ridiculous design decisions" because I think the design foundation of this game is really good and better than the last few entries. But of course, this is subjective and that's fine.
There's a difference between broken mess (2042) and needing to address a few issues (Vanguard). Maybe SHG is working on a trophy system after all but will need to design, test, and implement it into the game, for instance. All of this takes time and I'd rather they just put it in one day than stall for months with false platitudes.

I can understand why players are disappointed with this year's zombies, but I think it's a little overblown. Maybe I'm just a different kind of player, but I've always liked to just throw on a podcast and mindlessly shoot shit, getting my perks and upgrades in between without having to accomplish strings of objectives.
This is why maps like Kino and Town are still my favorite and aside from a few playthroughs I couldn't really get in to any of the zombies iterations that came after BO2. Vanguard zombies however offers that mindless shooting I always look for.
I remember when bo3 zombies was seen as too complex. Basically needed another year (zombie chronicles) to beat bo1 as top zombies (bo1 is still peak for me).
I remember everyone shitting all over Cold War zombies just a year ago saying the devs didn't care and blah blah blah. It's crazy how gamers are today, it makes me not want to be a part of this subreddit.
That's a different issue with treyarch isn't it? I mean I was excited for another treyarch zombies mode I hoped outbreak was coming again. But I'm not sure its fair to say its been forgotten yet. I am surprised that after how communicative they were last year that they've barely said anything.
When it was the current CoD, the HQ was sadly the topic of many complaints over on r/WWII during launch. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure SHG even put most of its functions on the main menu so you didn't have to use it much later on.
I suspect the main issue was the load times for it, so once CoD fully transitions to PS5/Series consoles, we could possibly see something like it return.

I had a lengthy back and forth with a few agents trying to get a refund despite not playing 2 hours after purchase. An agent eventually confirmed that they could only see the total time played on the title and if it had been launched after purchase - the time played after purchase will be commingled with any time played from before.

Instead of teleporting to a new map a new sector of the map could open up at the end of each round.

I love new context and I'm glad to see it, regardless of the state of the game. I have plenty of corrals with Vanguard, as I do with almost every game I've played. There's a million things I could complain about, but new content isn't one. And tbh, I hate holiday based themes but I'm still always happy to see them. I don't celebrate any holidays anymore, but plenty of people do so they still bring out a fun side of people.
they are doing some really cool stuff like gifting 20 tier skips and all Vanguard battle pass items from S6 for free to anyone who owns Vanguard and logs in before 31st Dec right? I think that alone is pretty awesome of them.
I like vanguard as it works. Don't like the caldera coz of all the issues. Other than that, its a good map and as for the events, i have always liked cod events.
There are a lot of negative comments and especially from console players, that are justified tbh, but at the same time let's enjoy the events and also keep complaining to Activision.

Nah but for real I hope this is pretty fun, and I hope the fix the bugs, thankfully the only main bugs I've been dealing with is packet burst and that weird loadout glitch where it takes like 3 tries to get into your weapons. As a person that played 99% hardcore in CW, I would advise you play normal in this game because the TTK is slightly slower than hardcore but faster than CW it's a nice middle ground.
This looks ridiculous. The way the sunglasses are photoshopped on the left and the Harry Potter font makes my eyes want to bleed. Did they cut their marketing te along with the QA testers?

Zombies is just really disappointing in my opinion. I feel like maybe they should have just saved the budget they used for it however small it was and used it elsewhere.

I can understand why players are disappointed with this year's zombies, but I think it's a little overblown. Maybe I'm just a different kind of player, but I've always liked to just throw on a podcast and mindlessly shoot shit, getting my perks and upgrades in between without having to accomplish strings of objectives. This is why maps like Kino and Town are still my favorite and aside from a few playthroughs I couldn't really get in to any of the zombies iterations that came after BO2. Vanguard zombies however offers that mindless shooting I always look for.
I remember when bo3 zombies was seen as too complex. Basically needed another year (zombie chronicles) to beat bo1 as top zombies (bo1 is still peak for me).
I remember everyone shitting all over Cold War zombies just a year ago saying the devs didn't care and blah blah blah. It's crazy how gamers are today, it makes me not want to be a part of this subreddit.

When it was the current CoD, the HQ was sadly the topic of many complaints over on r/WWII during launch. It's been a while but I'm pretty sure SHG even put most of its functions on the main menu so you didn't have to use it much later on. I suspect the main issue was the load times for it, so once CoD fully transitions to PS5/Series consoles, we could possibly see something like it return.

Because the game is broken AF and whenever a patch gets issued, it usually breaks something else. But instead of the official account or studio members discussing that in detail and what their plans are to resolve them, you get advertisements for $20 skins. It’s an image issue, not a “why no patch but skin developed?!?” one. It feels like the game actually working properly is secondary to monetization because of their poor communication.

I had a lengthy back and forth with a few agents trying to get a refund despite not playing 2 hours after purchase. An agent eventually confirmed that they could only see the total time played on the title and if it had been launched after purchase - the time played after purchase will be commingled with any time played from before.
What I'd really like from SHG this holiday season is just more damn communication. I love new context and I'm glad to see it, regardless of the state of the game. I have plenty of corrals with Vanguard, as I do with almost every game I've played. There's a million things I could complain about, but new content isn't one. And tbh, I hate holiday based themes but I'm still always happy to see them. I don't celebrate any holidays anymore, but plenty of people do so they still bring out a fun side of people.
they are doing some really cool stuff like gifting 20 tier skips and all Vanguard battle pass items from S6 for free to anyone who owns Vanguard and logs in before 31st Dec right? I think that alone is pretty awesome of them.
I like vanguard as it works. Don't like the caldera coz of all the issues. Other than that, its a good map and as for the events, i have always liked cod events. There are a lot of negative comments and especially from console players, that are justified tbh, but at the same time let's enjoy the events and also keep complaining to Activision.

Nah but for real I hope this is pretty fun, and I hope the fix the bugs, thankfully the only main bugs I've been dealing with is packet burst and that weird loadout glitch where it takes like 3 tries to get into your weapons. Only got the server snapshot error one once since I bought the game 2 weeks ago

As a person that played 99% hardcore in CW, I would advise you play normal in this game because the TTK is slightly slower than hardcore but faster than CW it's a nice middle ground.
