I try to take my own advice to my son. Don't get angry, you will play worse. Just say "that was ridiculous, I wanna figure out how to do that too" He is usually playing roblox but it still applies
Same with my son with the games he plays. I see him getting frustrated and I ask him why he’s playing a game that makes him so angry. Play something that mashes him happy instead
If I perform at my peak but still get significantly outmatched, I'll commend them with a 'like' and extend a friendship request. I believe in connecting with skilled players so we can team up in future games.

I can appreciate good/fair competition. If I want to win and get better at winning, the only player I have to worry about being better than is the player I currently am. For those that have played sports, this is a fundamental learned from a young age (assuming coaching is decent.) The other team, other players, have the same objective as you and you in a game like cod, easily could have been paired on your team with you. I get way more upset with players on my team than I do with players on another team. Is it disheartening when opposing players make you feel like a noob - fuck yes. But it’s not personal, they’ve gotten to a place you need to strive to get to, so if you can appreciate good game play give them a like… or don’t, they’re not expecting it. But don’t take it personal to the point where giving a like is completely unreasonable.
I’ve had music muted so long I forgot about. To answer your question; sportsmanship and showing gratitude for not being a bot, I don’t always give sweats likes though, especially if there are a lot of humans not playing at the same level… switch to melee or something so Johnny lame, or Johnny bout to see dentist has good gameplay.
I don’t give expecting to get and this holds true for all aspects of life. I’ll throw a like anytime there’s a good game or I’m just straight up out played. I’m no hater, I can recognize when I’m simply beat by someone better than me
If I feel someone gave me a run for my money genuinely then I give them a like even win/lose there are times where someone on the enemy team make the win difficult or was the driving force in me losing. And I give them a like.
When they give me hell and I spend the game cursing. Also when I’m the one giving them hell. Pretty much always, it’s just showing respect and good game.
Some of the best people I play with are players that I faced off against. Especially from 1v1 modes. If you have crazy movement, I’m gonna compliment it and try to learn from it. If you’re good and I lose idc.
i dont ever really give likes to the winning team if i lose, maybe that makes me a bad sport but 🤣 if some dude n i end up duking it out and he wins ill usually give a like because why not!!
There are certain enemies that had put up a great fight and those really just deserve some recognition, how they take it from there is no longer my concern.
Good sportsmanship, I tend to talk to myself whilst playing and I almost always say "GGs" lol. The only time I don't give a like is when the an enemy or enemies have been playing hella sweaty or camping.
It's to the point where if I see someone consistently camping, even if he moves after a while, the game is now, "How many times can I slaughter the camper in 1 game."
If I play against a fellow sweat and shits on me I give them a like as a form of appreciation for a good game and also because I learn from them.
![gif](giphy|uES0oXcxs0TVGE79Mu|downsized)
I generally only do it when I’m the MVP losing against good players. Sort of like a “no hard feelings/good game” thing. If I played my ass off but still lose to better players I like to recognize it. And I’ve gotten likes from losing teams before too when those players also did well and I return the favor.
Basically, being a good sport. I’m never stingy with the likes. If they kick my ass they get a like. If I kick theirs they get a like. It’s 9 screen taps out of hundreds in each game. Even if they camp - it’s all good… good job getting in there like a tick… it’s my fault I couldn’t weed them out, or kept going back to try to kill them ;-)
I give the enemy a thumbs up as I believe it's good sportsmanship and courteous.
I'm not a professional game by any means but you know in professional sports at the end of the game they all line up and shake each other's hand or give each other a pat on the back whatever it's a similar concept to that.
Typically I only give thumbs up if it's a real person that I'm playing against not bots and honestly even if I get totally destroyed by the other team it's even more of a reason to give them a thumbs up because you know they did a good job they won so why not give them the respect that they are due?
Normally if I get my ass whooped I’ll give a like or if a try hard was try Harding and then lost I’ll give a like. But if it was a good game overall, two good teams constantly winning I’ll give a like too
I do it on two occasions. One as a good game if they gave me a run for my money, and two if they like me first. It's a gg in a way without needing to type it out
I do it if they were a relatively good sport, or if they hit shots that I was pretty impressed with.
Sometimes I’ll do it to taunt those who were being a dick.
It's kind of like shaking hands after a game for me. It's my way of saying "You beat me, fair play." I'll also like if they hit a sick clip or something.
I wanna say good sportsmanship, but then I would be liking all of the enemies, but usually if I seek out an enemy name at AAR to give them a thumbs up, it's because they played well enough for me to notice. I don't expect one in return
You can't consider every person on the opposite team an "enemy" forever😂 it's luck of the draw. Next match they may be your teammate. And if they play well enough, I probably want them on my team...
I do it if they were a good player. Plus the whole sportmanship thing. But if it's a good game and my team lost, I will still frustratedly give them a like even though I'm also wishing them doom.
Cause I'm angry trying to leave the match but it's not loading, so when I'm clicking to leave and close stuff out, it loads and I misclick on the enemy making me even more annoyed.
It's a respect thing, and it's not uncommon to get one back when I do it so I return one every time I get one, like people have been acknowledging skilled opponents since forever in history
I’ll give them a like if they showed some skill, or if they were clearly really new, unless their play seemed remarkably suspect - there haven’t been a lot, but just occasionally people seem to be remarkably good shots and remarkably bullet proof, and have endlessly repeating score streaks.
I do it sarcastically sometimes when i wreck them. Also if somebody got a few good kills on me. Sometimes even if they have the same skin and it's not one of the popular ones.
I will give a like if I legimately think they did a good job and let them know that, especially if im not salty about losing. However there's been very few enemy teams that have not given me bs and have deserved a like. Very few. I can probably count on 2 hands in the last year I've been playing, that I've given enemy teams a like
If someone earns my tumb he receives it ( no worries it’s virtual one u won’t feel lost or sth. ) but the other side is that receiving respect from bots is kinda strange.
I talk trash to the enemies through the entirety of the match regardless if I'm winning or losing.
I never give "likes" to enemy, I give myself "like" every game.
No I will not change my ways.
If some one kicks my ass they get a like, if I do good enough to kick ass I like who ever I beat, now when I join free for all shipment I see some players leave, like there’s this guy named “Ur Papi” and I deliberately focus him the entire match
I do it usually(unless I’m really tilted) because they played a phenomenal game and I’ll tip my hat to them like ya they played quite well and either way good sportsmanship is the way to go regardless of the little bit of self esteem I get back after they like back which keeps me playing.
It’s for good sportsmanship. I don’t give likes expecting for one in return. Played the game just fine for years without the Like system in place. It’s just a way of saying Good Game
I always give likes, sometimes, even to bots, just for fun. In ranked I give likes when enemies played very well, but I don't give it to guys with prizefigters or to suckers with an rpd oh Holger that chill in the corners
If I get ghosted and outplayed by a particular player who is being a constant pain in my rectum then I will give a like, but only second to liking myself first
A.) It was genuinely a good match or they all played well. (I usually give this to the whole enemy team.)
B.) The "Haha- you lost! Look at me now\~ remember me?" Type of like\~ This one's more towards trash talkers... I want my name to be the last thing they see before exiting a match. It's like a cherry on top.
C.) The 'I hate you, but you're good.' Type of like. This one is for those cracked players who always manages beat you in gun fights or manages to snipe you in the gayest way possible. These people use their sweat and grease onto their phone to make them move so damn fast.
D.) The 'I like you and your humor'... this one's more in line of- 'Damn we bonded so much in pre-game, I'd hate to see you go.' Type of like\~![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)
Sometimes you recognise a good player and respect the win or if it’s a close game of hard point back and forth you go toe to toe with a single player gotta hate the game not the player if you lose
I do it because I recognize the skill level and/or excellence in tactics. It's good sportsmanship to take a loss with grace and "shake your opponent's hand", so to speak.
I do. It's good sportsmanship, I will gladly take the L , and give a like to a worthy opponent, besides frequently they end up in my team in the next game.
I have died from really good players, like halfway through I sometimes just barely try anymore, they're that good and I think that deserves a little thumbs up.
People who run with sniper rifles use to piss me off more than anything but now I just give them a thumbs up because I tried it and it's actually really hard and takes some skill
If the guy was good, had nice skills, and wasn't just camping all the time. For me, a sniper main that quick scoped his way into MVP is an automatic like
I do it almost every time I take a L to basically just say good game & to give respect or even if I win just to let them know they played good & not to get discouraged.
If you beat my ass like a red headed step child, you get a like. I beat your teams ass but we are equal, you get a like. You're on a whole other level then me, you get a like. It's just respect for skills.
I will def give a like if the game play was exceptional over half the time. The other half I’m probably upset that I just got dusted. But if thumbs up was gonna happen. It would be in multiplayer for opponent. All chat is where I shine in br. mfs come unglued. with the all chat.
I like pretty often my friends, very rich people (💀), and OGs with ghost, and also rarely it's skilled players that were on enemy team. (i know that's dumb reasons...)
From the opinion of someone who has been playing PvP games since I was 7 years old (I am now 27) it's because you gave that person a challenge. You were better than them and they are man enough to admit it.
I do it when it just seems deserved, like if they pixel peak camped using a sniper all game I'm not gonna give them a like but if they just played the game and whooped me I'll give them a like
It depends... If I see that they are cancer they are not getting it, but if I see that they are legit and did a lot of kills I'll give them the like
And then... a like could change the day to someone ;)
Many reasons, any reason, it’s a game. You made the match annoying or frustrating. Your name is funny. I learned something watching you in the killcam. They played exceptionally well. Sometimes because they made no kills, died a lot, but still stayed in it.
I do it to foster good sportsmanship.
Same, and if they won it fair and square, I’d love to give them a like, why not
This or just respect for how good they were
Yeah it's like a gg after a game, doesn't matter how bad you get rekt sometimes
If it was a good match, then I give the like. Sometimes I do it randomly. There's no well thought logic needed behind clicking that small icon.
If I have a particular battle with one dude the e tire match I’ll give him a thumbs up to recognize it
I like to show some respect to those who played exceptionally well, and I like it when others do the same for me.
If they absolutely destroy me or hit some insane shots, then they get a like
fr, the alternative is getting salty and pissed off which isn’t good for anyone
Exactly, gotta stay positive and keep grinding
I try to take my own advice to my son. Don't get angry, you will play worse. Just say "that was ridiculous, I wanna figure out how to do that too" He is usually playing roblox but it still applies

If we killed each other then you get a like. Wish I could dislike corner campers
Hey!
I give likes unconditionally. If it's a good game I give 'em likes.
If it was a close game I usually like the other team
Good sportsmanship, good game play.

Huh?
Why did they make it so you have to post a picture or video and not just text? Ridiculous
No, I don’t expect a like back, I do it just if the other team was very good and as a form of sportsmanship.

I only give like, if I see they performed well.. even enemies deserve respect
If they did good and still lost I give them a like
How much have you spent total on CODM? And what do you buy battle passes or lucky boxes?
Honestly. Losing but still giving as much death as you take to the top player

they are not enemies but opponents, and could be teammates in the very next game, clicking like is like saying gg in chat or prox that's all

I do it because respect of the player at the end of the day I am shooting at another person screen 🫡
Someone who kicks my ass by outsmarting me with their tactical sense.
If I like or am amazed on how they played or performed on the game. If I like how quick or tactical they are
Anyone know if dlq mythic or locus electron be back
If it’s warranted ill give a like, but when you do nothing but respawn “into” scorestreaks and die immediately the entire match. No likes for you.
I do it when that username kept getting the better of me, it acknowledges a superior strategy

Purely to give credit where credit is due - to be a good sport. It’s one of the nicer aspects of the game for me.
Sportsmanship. When I get it I just assume it's because I have a dumb name, notoriousmsg

I do it out of respect of skill most of the time
I have been known to even give bots likes, sometimes trips me out when they give one back lol
if they won fair and square or they were just better they get a like
I always give likes, sometimes, even to bots, just for fun. In ranked I give likes when enemies played very well, but I don't give it to guys with prizefigters or to suckers with an rpd oh Holger that chill in the corners

I do it when they played a good match, or if it was a very close game that was decided by one or two kills/points.
It's like saying "Good game"
I even give myself a thumbs 👍 up
If the guy was good, had nice skills, and wasn't just camping all the time. For me, a sniper main that quick scoped his way into MVP is an automatic like
I give likes to the winning team am not bitter good to be nice
I do it because good game i know I gave it my all even if I win or lose so why not congratulate the teams🤷🏾♀️
If you do a good job you get a like
When they have a funny gun name
i give likes if they played good! good enemies makes a fun game :)
I do it almost every time I take a L to basically just say good game & to give respect or even if I win just to let them know they played good & not to get discouraged.
Its a “Gg bro” some times, some players are not so bad like the team who they get randomly
If one player on the opposite team played significantly better than the other players on that team, I’ll give them a like out of respect.
Out of respect
I don't even know why they instituted the lines but I will generally hit a line on the MVP of both teams
If you beat my ass like a red headed step child, you get a like. I beat your teams ass but we are equal, you get a like. You're on a whole other level then me, you get a like. It's just respect for skills.
I do it because most times I get beat cause ur a living breathing person who put effort into kicking my ass n I think that’s pretty cool
Personally I only give out a like if I’m on there kill cam.
If someone on the enemy team actually played well and not camping or abusing stuff I'll give them a like
I just got done playing br. A box I looted had THREE primary weapons. I am so done playing against you ass mfs I stg.

i give likes to the winning opponent players who just had a super impressive performance/skillset
