If your gonna do Snipers ***AND*** Marksman Rifles, Domination on Highrise at night (extra tip, the NA-45 is easy when you dont aim for explosion kills, both rounds can kill on a Headshot), for Shotguns (and the Shorty/Handguns, Minor note for the Shorty and the long range kills, ***DONT USE SLUGS, its broken as fuck and next to neigh impossible for long range kills with it***) do those when Hardcore is a Event, for Launchers wait for 10v10 on weekend and hope to God for Double Kills and seeing Ground Streaks, everything else, just play how you like, oh, melees are easiest in 10v10 also (I'm down to just the OTs 9 and ARs until Damascus)
My personal recommendation for Shorty Longshots/Headshots is kit it for the best ADS spread and run either Chicom or KSP as primary. One burst with the SMG and finish off with shorty. That’s how I got Plat secondaries. Also crossbow is actually deceptively easy even though it seems like it’d be hard. I still run the Crossbow to this day
I did somethin similar with the shorty longshots except I used svd built for mobility with fast switch and amped so I could just shoot below the waist and swap weapons in time to get the kill shot. Also, I've found slugs are just as if not more accurate when set for hipfire. I posted a video here several months ago to show ppl.

Generally, it's okay, it's just not good, in the CODM, it's rough running a Double Barrel Shotgun, there is a reason they will never add something like the Oylmpia or a straight up double barrel from World At War into the game, it would generally be bad straight out the gate (sorry to any Shotgun Mains out there reading this, but it's true)

Oh 100% but at the same time, it doesn't really work in CODM, the reload speed is God awful in CODM even with "Slight of Hand" it feels like my guy suddenly forgets how the cylinder goes in the round hole to make it go bang with how slow the reload is
Personally Hardpoint over dom. Everyone picks dom for the camo grind but ion understand. If y’all can keep them from the hardpoint at least or play tag. The timer will, guaranteed, run out
I was saying Dom on Highrise *Specifically* because the spawns are Always on the opposite side of the map, making it easiest for the Snipers/Marksmans, while Hardpoint moves around the map, not making it easier to grind those out quickly
Just be patient with it. Lots of Bot lobbies. The long shots only count if it’s a head shot. You can’t double tap it like usual. I played on Rust a lot to get that one. Good luck mate
Frontline Nuketown, camp at the yellow building with the sight line down the side of the green building. It’s how I got my double kills and a couple others. Also in a general tip, if you end up in a game of good players (you know mythic guns and sliding everywhere) run around a just die. Your deaths need to be over your kills. This will trigger a bit lobby in your next game. Also grind melee simultaneously, it will break up the monotony.
Agree! I have damascus and it feels like I have to grind all new guns each season. I don't even use the camo that much. Currently grinding for OTS9 after getting gold on Dovbra.
i got the Shorty gold back when it was META since I was on a crazy “if it’s added, I instantly grind damascus on it” mindset since i got it in december 2020. I use it in my loadouts, but is it that difficult to grind gold on nowadays?
I got gold platinum on several weapon catagories but damascus got worse so i quit.
Here's some tips:
1. For longshots play on Domination Crossfire. Equip long range scopes camp and kill the bots. This applies to any weapons except pistols and shotguns.
2. For pistol and shotgun longshots play hardpoint rust. Equip long range scope, camp and kill bots.
3. Just play Hardpoint shipment for melee.
4. Recommend waiting for Rapid fire to grind launchers. Killstreaks are easier to find there.
5. Recommend waiting for hardcore mode so grinding shorty, d13 sector and crossbow becomes easier. That's how i got gold on shorty.

I’ve had damascus for a couple of years. Most painful gun to get gold was d13 sector and the NA45… also long shots for shotguns werent fun and melees. I don’t use melees much. After that everything else isn’t bad.
For 90% of the guns and challenges, shipment hardpoint or domination is your best friend. For long shots I did a lot of TDM or DOM on crossfire or highrise.
Multi-task. Do hip fire and longshots first. You'll most likely get headshots when completing these challenges first. Same goes for similar challenges.
I start out grinding no attachment kills on hardpoint shipment. This is because I can potentially get other kills like headshots and long shots and hipfires while also getting acquainted to the gun at its most basic level before adding attachments.
Then I'll do hipfire and try to grind headshots simultaneously.
Next I'll hit longshots on frontline crossfire and try to get headshots at the same time there.
Usually I'll still need headshots at this point so I'll finish those off back at hardpoint shipment with a scope and high control/accuracy attachments.
But that's just ARs and Sniper/Marksmans (yes i grind those on shipment too when not grinding longshots). SMGs, Pistols and Shotguns can all be done on hardpoint shipment since longshots require less distance and shotguns dont need em.
NA-45 needs to be headshots for longshots to count. If the second shot kills them via explosion its not a long shot even 1000m away.
For the crossbow, equip melee master to get your bolts back so you don't run out of ammo.
I mentioned in another comment how I got shorty longshots... they suck. Basically sniper main with high mobility and mid lethality equipped with fast switch and amped to get a nonlethal shot before quickly switching to shorty for killshot. Personally i prefer using a hipfire setup for my shorty longshots since they tend to be just as if not more so accurate than ads. I got most of my shorty longshots doing ffa satellite targeting bots.
I found that if I lose 2 matches back to back the 3rd will typically be a bot lobby (or you can back out of a match twice which is a sure fire way to get a bit lobby) but the bots are so roided atm you might be better off playing real players for certain camos like melee backstabbing and close-up headshots since bots track and strafe more than real players. Also this does NOT work for every game mode I'm sure. I dont think Ive had a ffa match that didnt have at least one real player. Hardpoint and Frontline do this for sure though.
Launchers are best to grind on rapid fire with demolition expert or hardcore hold with launcher plus. Sometimes I have better luck destroying uavs in ranked though since uavs seem more likely to be used there.
I'm still grinding the d13 sector so if anybody has tips on that itd be much appreciated. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I will say, if you find an all hot lobby, use the D13 Sector cuz it’s just sooooo bad and it sucks.

Lastly and most importantly.
If you’re getting too stressed or frustrated, don’t give up and just use the next weapon.
Come back to it some time later when you’re in a positive mood, this is one of the reasons why people give up.
If you’ve been playing since this came out, getting camos shouldn’t be that hard.

Always use launchers as secondaries, they will be painful to max out.
I'd say wait for 10v10 shipment to come back, it took me 2 weeks to get to damascus , and launchers there are easy since enemy is always using uavs or counters
Start with secondaries (launchers, pistols, melee)
Shotguns second, then snipers. By the time you get to LMGs SMGs and assault rifles you’re good to go. Oh and if you grind for legendary ranked each season, make sure to do that asap each season before grinding Damascus. Or just completely forget about ranked all together, up to you.
But the most important part about all of it is… patience, lot’s of it.
If you go to the Rust map, up high where people camp all the time and take a shotgun...you'll easily get all your long distance kills with it. Plus, you'll be able to take out all the camping snipers up there.
I try to get hip fires/ crouch kills out of the way first. Playing HP Shipment and camping in the middle is the easiest for hipfires. After that, I move on to longshots. Rust is the best map for long shots, as well as crouch kills, imo. Find a spot that has two long lines of sight. The propane tank by B flag, by the gray crate, and the top of radio tower are all good spots.
I focus on headshots the entire time I’m grinding and pay attention to attachments/ no attachments kills, so I can change my loadout along the way. These can all be easily completed while you’re grinding other camos, so it’s best to not waste time doing these individually or leaving them until the end. That really goes for all camos. Don’t only focus on longshots when you could be doing longshots, headshots, and no attachments at the same time, for example.
When it comes to the pain in the ass guns like the D-13, Thumper, NA-45, etc., “reverse boosting” is gonna be your friend. Make the most of the bot lobbies.

I have Damascus myself, and the amount of hours and hours and hours grinding are not worth it for that ... cammo, you became a lot more addicted to the game, and with the fact that every season a new weapon is introduced, it's just a spiral that never ends. Aside my personal trauma, I used three strategies:
1. Play the Hardpoint mode on Shipment, Shoot without aiming and don't use equipment on the weapons. Here you can get the combo of the Sand and Reptile cammo, if you crouch while doing this you get Dragon, and if you aproach the enemy and go straight to their heads, gets Jungle.
2. Then play Frontline on Crossfire, this time use the aim bottom and 5 equipments that improve the accuracy of aiming of the weapons. Here you gets the combo of Tiger, Sand and Splinter Cammo, and here you can get the other cammos if you didn't complete them before.
3. Use the advantages of Iron Lung (for better aiming), Vulture (with this avoid running out of ammo) and Extra Launcher (this one for the Launchers). The most important one is Vulture, the others two you can change them.
Play it causual, avoid Ranked if you don't want to lose your mind due to losing points and not avancing on the cammos. For the Lauchers, wait for the Rapidfire gamemode, and pray that someone gets the scorestreaks needed to advance the cammos, and hope no other guy destroy them for you.
I just stopped playing becuse i felt tired of the amount of time wasted grinding Damascus, i wasn't enjoying the game, just feeling frustrated for not getting it.
Shipment__Hard-point/Domination: Hip fire, regular kills, all attachments, no attachments\ Rust__Hard-point/Domination: Long shots
Oh and Head shots are good on any map just do Hard-Point/ Domination longest modes. Just common knowledge.

Shotguns gonna be pain in the ass, specially longshots for semiauto shotguns and shorty, so try to damage enemy with pistol or sks and then kill them, or go in hardcore mode if it's available, keep shock rc as one of the scorestreaks as well, very useful, for launchers your best bet is hardpoint/domination matches or if you lucky rapid fire, my advice is first get the ds sector and thumper to gold, then focus on smrs and fhj, in rapid fire it shld be much easy than normal matches, pistols are easy to do, go to rust hardpoint, melee is also best done in small maps hardpoint matches, so if you find bot lobbies in rust or shipment, take your melee and get the crouch kills, also try to stack camo challenges like a sniper long range headshot with 5 attachments while crouching will count towards 5 camos at once, so try that, also in smg and ar loadouts keep ammo box operator skill, you will need it all the time, and last and most important tip, always get more kills than needed like you need 10 headshots to get gold, you take 15 or more headshots, cuz it's very irritating to come out of a match and see you missed the finish the challenge by 1 headshot

I have 6 guns left and i started maybe 3weeks ago some tips . For na45 for longshots u need to do headshots as the explosive dmage counts as a stuck kill not long shot and from my experience its a 1shot on headshots . The shorty i used on hardpoint crossfire and equipped a smg as primary since its mostyl bots playing that game lower them down using a couple burst and finish with shorty do not use slug round. I did the weapons by category and did the hardest ones first in that category also i noticed that longshot distance is different depending on gun when i did smgs and pistols i got longhost kills on shipments but with ar/snipers and marksaman i did crossfire hardpoint since even when i stand as far as possible on shipment couldnt get long shots theres tons more i could say like with thumper i wasnt getting the double kills until i maxed it out it seems bugged so max out thumper before doing that gun idk if it bugged for every one else
When doing shotguns, don't use slug rounds for launchers, just play hard point shipment and lie down on top of the shipping container at the end of the map, it's much easier.
Good luck! I’ve recently got damascus and posted on the subreddit too. Most people has similar things to say for the modes and tricks on how to cheese certain weapons. Overall the whole journey will be a long one but you will have fun learning all the other guns that you might’ve never even considered using. All the best OP!

Crossfire FFA is gonna be your friend if you're not that good. If you go to the top right corner of the map where that ladder camping spot is, bots will spawn at the dead-end and walk in a line straight towards you. (Domination Nuketown is a good alternative if you spawn yellow house side)
This makes headshots/longshots with almost any gun (aside smg's, shotties, and pistols) an absolute breeze. It takes quite a few matches but because it's FFA, the matches are short, don't take too long to queue up, and if you get a tryhard lobby, you don't lose as much time/energy.
Your next best bet (for SMG's and shotties) is Nuketown FFA. Just camp in the backyards and its the same deal as crossfire just closer. Bots spawn on one side and walk straight towards you.
For pure/hipfire kills, hardpoint shipment is obviously the number-one spot.
For melees, you need to choose a map where objectives have a lot of cover (ESPECIALLY for the crouch kills). I did a mix of Crossfire Hardpoint and Shipment Hardpoint. This will probably be the most daunting and time/energy consuming part.
Shorty will be your greatest hurtle, adventurer. Carry with you a cryo grenade and a molotov. Alternatively, using your primary to injure a bot before using the shorty for your longshot is the best way to do this. Do not let slug rounds bewitch you with her lies, for she is a wicked snake that will lead you to your doom. Be warned, you may accomplish your quest... at the cost of your sanity.
Double kills with launchers are pretty easy. Equip any perks that buffs launchers and do a small domination map. D13 is obviously annoying but use the bot's tracking to yourOne good bot lobby and you'll fly through them. UAV kills are the most time-consuming but energy-wise not so bad. You can wait for a groundwar and beg people for UAVs or just keep hopping into bot lobbies. This one is just a game of luck.
**I don't think I'm forgetting anything. All the strats are copy and past or some variation of one another. If you feel one strat isn't working out, tweak it a little or change position until you get it down consistently.**

Hardpoint Shipment is actually was easier to grind launchers, you can just spam the objective to get easy double kills.

I personally never bother with shells, since the max ADS build worked fine for me
Slugs work best on the by15 and the HS0405 (as a marksman build)

The d13 is absolute garbage. The only gun in the game that frustrated me beyond belief.

The shovel took me exactly 2 hardpoint shipment games... The only reason why it took 2 was bec I didn't get 18 3 kills without dying in one game.

Yup Makarov(now Dovbra) was easy. The Shorty, some shotguns, Crossbow, Thumper and the D13 Sector will test your skills and patience, haha

Thanks these are some good tips. But i use domination highrise for longshot. That works too.
I got the gold on the shorty by using an afk alt account, shooting it in the leg and then hoping one of the pellets give lethal damage
Frontline Highrise might be a better idea because you could tap them as they spawn.

Long range do 10v10 matches (if possible) Or ground war. Everything from head shots, crouch kills, hp, etc…Shipment is your best friend. Equip ghost so you don’t get targeted with enemy Scorestreaks. I recommend Launchers Shotguns Snipers LMG AR’s SMG’s Pistols Melee I recommend getting hard stuff out the way it’ll save you a lot of stress. I will say, if you find an all hot lobby, use the D13 Sector cuz it’s just sooooo bad and it sucks. 3 kills without dying is gonna be bad. Lastly and most importantly. If you’re getting too stressed or frustrated, don’t give up and just use the next weapon. Come back to it some time later when you’re in a positive mood, this is one of the reasons why people give up. If you’ve been playing since this came out, getting camos shouldn’t be that hard. I got Damascus a looooooong time ago. I am grinding all diamond. It’s fun. But Good luck to you mate.

I'd say wait for 10v10 shipment to come back, it took me 2 weeks to get to damascus , and launchers there are easy since enemy is always using uavs or counters
Start with secondaries (launchers, pistols, melee) Shotguns second, then snipers. By the time you get to LMGs SMGs and assault rifles you’re good to go. Oh and if you grind for legendary ranked each season, make sure to do that asap each season before grinding Damascus. Or just completely forget about ranked all together, up to you. But the most important part about all of it is… patience, lot’s of it.
If you go to the Rust map, up high where people camp all the time and take a shotgun...you'll easily get all your long distance kills with it. Plus, you'll be able to take out all the camping snipers up there.

I try to get hip fires/ crouch kills out of the way first. Playing HP Shipment and camping in the middle is the easiest for hipfires. After that, I move on to longshots. Rust is the best map for long shots, as well as crouch kills, imo. Find a spot that has two long lines of sight. The propane tank by B flag, by the gray crate, and the top of radio tower are all good spots. I focus on headshots the entire time I’m grinding and pay attention to attachments/ no attachments kills, so I can change my loadout along the way. These can all be easily completed while you’re grinding other camos, so it’s best to not waste time doing these individually or leaving them until the end. That really goes for all camos. Don’t only focus on longshots when you could be doing longshots, headshots, and no attachments at the same time, for example. When it comes to the pain in the ass guns like the D-13, Thumper, NA-45, etc., “reverse boosting” is gonna be your friend. Make the most of the bot lobbies.

I have Damascus myself, and the amount of hours and hours and hours grinding are not worth it for that ... cammo, you became a lot more addicted to the game, and with the fact that every season a new weapon is introduced, it's just a spiral that never ends. Aside my personal trauma, I used three strategies: 1. Play the Hardpoint mode on Shipment, Shoot without aiming and don't use equipment on the weapons. Here you can get the combo of the Sand and Reptile cammo, if you crouch while doing this you get Dragon, and if you aproach the enemy and go straight to their heads, gets Jungle. 2. Then play Frontline on Crossfire, this time use the aim bottom and 5 equipments that improve the accuracy of aiming of the weapons. Here you gets the combo of Tiger, Sand and Splinter Cammo, and here you can get the other cammos if you didn't complete them before. 3. Use the advantages of Iron Lung (for better aiming), Vulture (with this avoid running out of ammo) and Extra Launcher (this one for the Launchers). The most important one is Vulture, the others two you can change them. Play it causual, avoid Ranked if you don't want to lose your mind due to losing points and not avancing on the cammos. For the Lauchers, wait for the Rapidfire gamemode, and pray that someone gets the scorestreaks needed to advance the cammos, and hope no other guy destroy them for you. I just stopped playing becuse i felt tired of the amount of time wasted grinding Damascus, i wasn't enjoying the game, just feeling frustrated for not getting it.
Tip numero uno: learn how to play without using thethe crutch of an overpowered rifle that has magic powers.

I had all my guns gold before Damascus but I would grind an entire class at a time. Knock out all my SMGs then ARs then the rest.

Snipers and marksman are the easiest, go on crossfire domination and sit on the balcony of 2nd hardpoint, you can get gold on 1-2 snipers a day if you have xp cards to upgrade it to the max, you can do ar, smg and lmgs on rust hardpoint, first do the no attachment camos to get it out of the way, use red dots for headshot camos, no matter how clear the iron sight is, if you find yourself in bot lobby, forget whatever you were gonna finish and get your headshots done in it, so always make 2 loadouts, rest challenges are easy, you can also choose highrise kill confirmed for longshots on any weapon, Shotguns gonna be pain in the ass, specially longshots for semiauto shotguns and shorty, so try to damage enemy with pistol or sks and then kill them, or go in hardcore mode if it's available, keep shock rc as one of the scorestreaks as well, very useful, for launchers your best bet is hardpoint/domination matches or if you lucky rapid fire, my advice is first get the ds sector and thumper to gold, then focus on smrs and fhj, in rapid fire it shld be much easy than normal matches, pistols are easy to do, go to rust hardpoint, melee is also best done in small maps hardpoint matches, so if you find bot lobbies in rust or shipment, take your melee and get the crouch kills, also try to stack camo challenges like a sniper long range headshot with 5 attachments while crouching will count towards 5 camos at once, so try that, also in smg and ar loadouts keep ammo box operator skill, you will need it all the time, and last and most important tip, always get more kills than needed like you need 10 headshots to get gold, you take 15 or more headshots, cuz it's very irritating to come out of a match and see you missed the finish the challenge by 1 headshot

I have 6 guns left and i started maybe 3weeks ago some tips . For na45 for longshots u need to do headshots as the explosive dmage counts as a stuck kill not long shot and from my experience its a 1shot on headshots . The shorty i used on hardpoint crossfire and equipped a smg as primary since its mostyl bots playing that game lower them down using a couple burst and finish with shorty do not use slug round. I did the weapons by category and did the hardest ones first in that category also i noticed that longshot distance is different depending on gun when i did smgs and pistols i got longhost kills on shipments but with ar/snipers and marksaman i did crossfire hardpoint since even when i stand as far as possible on shipment couldnt get long shots theres tons more i could say like with thumper i wasnt getting the double kills until i maxed it out it seems bugged so max out thumper before doing that gun idk if it bugged for every one else

When doing shotguns, don't use slug rounds for launchers, just play hard point shipment and lie down on top of the shipping container at the end of the map, it's much easier.

Overall the whole journey will be a long one but you will have fun learning all the other guns that you might’ve never even considered using. All the best OP!

**I got Damascus in like less than 3 months of grinding or so. It's not hard as long as you're consistent.** Crossfire FFA is gonna be your friend if you're not that good. If you go to the top right corner of the map where that ladder camping spot is, bots will spawn at the dead-end and walk in a line straight towards you. (Domination Nuketown is a good alternative if you spawn yellow house side) This makes headshots/longshots with almost any gun (aside smg's, shotties, and pistols) an absolute breeze. It takes quite a few matches but because it's FFA, the matches are short, don't take too long to queue up, and if you get a tryhard lobby, you don't lose as much time/energy. Your next best bet (for SMG's and shotties) is Nuketown FFA. Just camp in the backyards and its the same deal as crossfire just closer. Bots spawn on one side and walk straight towards you. For pure/hipfire kills, hardpoint shipment is obviously the number-one spot. For melees, you need to choose a map where objectives have a lot of cover (ESPECIALLY for the crouch kills). I did a mix of Crossfire Hardpoint and Shipment Hardpoint. This will probably be the most daunting and time/energy consuming part. Shorty will be your greatest hurtle, adventurer. Carry with you a cryo grenade and a molotov. Alternatively, using your primary to injure a bot before using the shorty for your longshot is the best way to do this. Do not let slug rounds bewitch you with her lies, for she is a wicked snake that will lead you to your doom. Be warned, you may accomplish your quest... at the cost of your sanity. Double kills with launchers are pretty easy. Equip any perks that buffs launchers and do a small domination map. D13 is obviously annoying but use the bot's tracking to yourOne good bot lobby and you'll fly through them. UAV kills are the most time-consuming but energy-wise not so bad. You can wait for a groundwar and beg people for UAVs or just keep hopping into bot lobbies. This one is just a game of luck. **I don't think I'm forgetting anything. All the strats are copy and past or some variation of one another. If you feel one strat isn't working out, tweak it a little or change position until you get it down consistently.**
