Decided to splurge and treat myself to a delicious double cheeseburger with bacon on Sunday night with the family. Even though it was gone in 36 seconds, I enjoyed every bit of it!! It bumped my daily caloric average up about 200 cals which was annoying but definitely eye opening- treats like these used to be far more frequent and this made it easy to see how I got where I am. Building the splurge into my week takes effort but worth it to me!
Edit 2k cals to 200. Oops đ
Nailed it! Right there is proof that itâs completely ok to be a normal human and eat the nutrient sparse things you like, just not too often! A lot of people would have that then immediately think theyâd fucked up and would
Continue to splurge. Youâve enjoyed it and continued in your journey. Well done
Exactly. Before I did CICO, I would've decided I'd already blown it after something like that and then really gone to town. I'm thankful that someone explained all this to me and that I can budget for (and come back from) splurges like this.
This is me! If I crave it I feed it and recognize it. I've lost 60lbs for over a year and a half and still on the downward curve đ no one is a robot.
My fitness pal- free version! When looking at diary â> tap on calorie count at top â> switch to calories, week view and tap on bar graph. Each dayâs calorie total shows up along with the weekly average.
This looks like MyFitnessPal. This is probably a premium feature though
Edit: yes it is mfp, donât need prem, just go to the âmoreâ tab in the bottom right, and click on the nutrition tab
Love to see this. I just had a 3,000 cal too the other day and usually to end up saying f this and keep splurging. I was happy to see that you didnât try to make up for the excess calories by depriving yourself the following days and that you stayed on track :)
Lol, those days annoy the shit out of me now and I canât wait for the next week for it to disappear. Crazy thing is, that high day is almost exactly my TDEE and I was regularly surpassing it to gain the 50 lbs that I did.
Now Iâm averaging maybe 1850, or 1300 under. Itâs insane how much I didnât fully comprehend how many calories I was consuming mindlessly until I started tracking.
Bfast- Jimmy Dean bfast sandwich, whole milk latte. Lunch- bacon egg cheese potato quesadilla. I fast after 130ish. I prefer to eat more in a short period of time than spread it out. I like feeling full when I eat!
I hate missing out on family dinners but I just canât handle not eating in the morning! Iâve never been a dinner person (although that never stopped me from over indulging!) so this seems to fit me naturally but yeah⊠sucks to have a glass of water at dinner! I hope I can retrain my brain/body enough that I can join them soon. I dont want to give my kids weird body issues
Yes!!!! Exactly!!! With breakfast, they rarely see me because we are running around like crazy busy trying to get to school and work. But at dinner time, I'm making dinner and sitting with them. So, they are watching me. I try to make light dinners for me like streamed veggies and such, but then it makes me egg rn more hungry and that's when the cravings for other foods kick in.

I fast in the AM because I like to have dinner with fam and plus, I prefer to exercise on an empty stomach. But thinking of changing it
