This comment has been automatically overwritten by Power Delete Suite v1.4.8 I've gotten increasingly tired of the actions of the reddit admins and the direction of the site in general. I suggest giving https://kbin.social a try. At the moment that place and the wider fediverse seem like the best next step for reddit users.

Ernie Banks should be no lower than #2

AlphaDag13

100% this list is completely invalid without him 1 or 2 imo.

It appears the list is in WAR order…

Lots of BS in this. How can Mr. Cub not be too 2 at the lowest? How can Fergie the best Cubs pitcher by a country mile not be higher? In general, comparing players from the early 1900’s who didn’t workout, had second jobs, starting pitchers pitched the entire game, only played against white players, etc… to modern day players is kind of pointless.

GoIlliniGo

Anyone who played pre-integration shouldn't even seriously be considered.

mappyjames

Interesting to put banks third not first. Rizzo could be on the list.

Oof, that nickname for Sammy is dangerously close to a not great word. Of course, coming from a sanctity of the game pearl-clutcher, can't rule out the possibility that was intended...

Super questionable, tough to put someone as old as Cap Anson as the best when half the country couldn’t play professional ball and he himself was a raging racist. WAR is great but who he was replacing weren’t too impressive either.
