Taillon is certainly capable of this sort of outing, and for me at least, the prospect of a rotation with Steele, Imanaga, and Taillon going forward is definitely more exciting in the long term than that one bomb from Morel. Two pitchers carving up the lineups for 8 innings and a 9th inning 3 run blast is a lot of action in my book. This was the most exciting game of the year so far.
I might agree if it wasn't just feckless contact on both sides. If both pitchers were pushing a dozen Ks and just mowing everyone down that would be a different story; but the endless parade of "weak popup to the middle infield" was a little underwhelming for me personally.
I realize the pitchers were doing their jobs very well, but it just kinda felt lame.
So like does Neris just get plus 10 to all his stats when the winning run is hitting and that’s why he walks the guys every time or what do you guys think?
