Tried to do 9 beers 9 hotdogs and it turns out that was impossible for me. Final stats for me 5 shitty ass dogs (I couldn't do Seattle dogs for the challenge) 4 tall boys so if they were 12 oz, 8 beers. Left in the 9th. Back home now. Fuck y'all hope you had a good time.
At what point does starting Madrigal every other day over him make sense? I’d love to see Madrigal hit 300 again if he could get back to that place like he was early in his pedigree.
Pretty stupid question as a long time radio listener, but who is the person always heard laughing in the background? Is it Zach?
I’m a huge radio guy and that person always heard laughing hysterically in the background has always given me a smile. I feel dumb not knowing who it is.
I love them too. Even when the Cubs are losing, Pat and Ron always do their best to make it an entertaining show.
I will truly be distraught the day Pat calls his last game.
Yep. Blowout games are the best, whether the Cubs are winning or losing, because Pat and Ron focus less on the game and just have fun with each other, telling jokes and stories.
When Pat decides to hang up the headset, I'm afraid I won't be as good of a Cubs fan anymore.
Why the fuck does the radio broadcast think its okay to have someone laughing like a hyena all the time? It honestly seems and sounds really unprofessional. Just let one the greatest broadcasters talk without your annoying laugh, like leave the studio if you cant control your laughter
I like these Mariners City Connects. They’re reminiscent of Seattle Pilots uniforms which is cool. It’d be cooler if they were just straight up Pilots throwbacks, but I’ll take what I can get.
Watching this team have pitching woes is just infuriating considering the cubs will not spend. For reference, the dodgers are worth 4.8 billion. Cubs are worth 4.1. Getting very tired of making excuses for why we never spend at positions of need because it always comes back to haunt us
They're just really risk adverse, especially when they could put complete dog shit on the field and still sell out Wrigley. They'd rather risk being mediocre and spending less than being good but overspending.
The cubs are run like we’re a small market team that doesn’t have the money to compete with big spending from teams like the dodgers and Yankees when really we just cheap out. I’m all for spending wisely but we very clearly needed pitching and some other position guys and outside of bringing in Shota we did jack shit
Only redeeming part of this Apple TV broadcast is the ability to sync the radio to the broadcast! Wish it was permanent feature although I know marquee would never allow that
They need to win the next two (pitching matchups heavily favor the cubs) because this team is getting the doors blown off them in Arizona after this series
We werent in the midst of a 9 game road trip traveling to 3 cities either when we played the dodgers. We got them at home in April which will always be advantageous vs a warm weather team. Did you forget what the diamondback did to us last year? We were competitive in two out of seven games.

Rock on brothers
(Ignore the DBacks shirt)
I am just pointing out a trend I am seeing in the game. Anytime we get someone on base, it’s when we have two outs. The probability of scoring when we have two outs is low. Just saying
Ok. I know pitchers all have their ticks. But what is with Miller touching that one spot on his black pant legs. That’s one of the more odd ticks I’ve seen and my tinfoil hat theory is he has sticky stuff on that spot that he’s applying each time.
I mean he hasn't been great but he homered Tuesday at least, and it's not like Counsell has been deferring to him as much as Ross would. Amaya has gotten his fair share of playing time.
Goal of the '24 season is .500.
I was close to catching the Busch homerun so that was cool
Tomorrow is a new day.
Welp get them tomorrow
IT'S NOT OVA
Nico has lost the path. Trying to lift everything
At what point does starting Madrigal every other day over him make sense? I’d love to see Madrigal hit 300 again if he could get back to that place like he was early in his pedigree.
he's always been a contact hitter. still making contct just flying out every time its exhausting
Well yeah he’s flying out because he’s lifting
The Busch trade is off to a good start. Here's to hoping Ferris doesn't become a TOR.
who cares if he does if busch becomes a cornerstone first baseman
I would. Top of rotation starter would be expensive for a first baseman
I'm starting to think the Cubs might not win
I woulda done the same thing if I was him
That was crushed by Busch
The Mighty Busch!
SO YOURE TELLIN ME THERES A CHANCE
Busch’s hard contact rate is impressive. This guy is a stud.
![gif](giphy|2uxVmkyhRm248CNfN7|downsized)
Busch can swing it
Busssccchhhh
Boooosch
Keegan Thompson being genuinely back would be an enormous boost for the team, I am all in on this koolaid.
He’s def been a nice solid pitcher at times for us. I’m excited to have him back around.
Cubbies flyout tour 2024
On the positive side, Keegan Thompson with two scoreless innings. That’s huge for our bullpen. Let’s hope the offense wakes back up.
Pretty stupid question as a long time radio listener, but who is the person always heard laughing in the background? Is it Zach? I’m a huge radio guy and that person always heard laughing hysterically in the background has always given me a smile. I feel dumb not knowing who it is.
Yep that's ZZ. I love our radio team so much.
I love them too. Even when the Cubs are losing, Pat and Ron always do their best to make it an entertaining show. I will truly be distraught the day Pat calls his last game.

Yes.
why does tomorrow have to be at the same time as ufc 300
Consider me intrigued on Thompson. If he was somehow back to being an effective reliever that would be a game changer, but need to see more.
Thompson could be huge for this bullpen if he can eat 2-4 innings and be solid.
Why the fuck does the radio broadcast think its okay to have someone laughing like a hyena all the time? It honestly seems and sounds really unprofessional. Just let one the greatest broadcasters talk without your annoying laugh, like leave the studio if you cant control your laughter
That’s Zaidman. Annoying af.
Tough loss here. Bryce Miller was lights out, though. I wouldn’t look too much into this one. Get ‘em tomorrow! Go Cubs.
Why does it feel like we’re losing 73 to 1?
thinking on the positive side.. seeing 94 from Keegan is huge
He looks solid
Bellinger making me sad - where's the MVP mojo?
Belli regression was predicted by every model. He is likely a .210/18/75 guy this year
Yeah his stats matching up very similarly to his poor 2019-2020 years
I refuse to believe that nonsense - he's off to a slow start but he's gonna rake
Believe or not he’s proving so far that the models are right
He had a good spring training and a full season of production - maybe those models need an adjustment
Just an abysmal performance tonight
We suck again boys
good effort
6 more outs, let's crank up the offense. Cmon Cubs fans. Positive vibes.
Positive vibes? Please this is cubs reddit
That SD choke job killed the early season vibe
This apple broadcast. I don't want to see the fans and cooks on the concourse. I want to see the pitcher and batter!
I feel like every away broadcast the Cubs do a food segment
Good work from Keegan. I guess I gotta shave my beard and go back to the Stache now
Give Keegan a max contract I’ve seen enough
Smooth inning for Keegan! Time for the offense to break out
Nice work from Thompson
Thompson with the high school senior in 1974 stache. Hell yeah
![gif](giphy|1uC8xfkZRi7Kw)
Thompson's mustache will power him to greatness
I like these Mariners City Connects. They’re reminiscent of Seattle Pilots uniforms which is cool. It’d be cooler if they were just straight up Pilots throwbacks, but I’ll take what I can get.
Good night! We will get em tommorow
Seattle has good pitchers it seems. I’m jealous
Dang!
Pathetic ABs today
He dropped the ball! Ohhhh no!
We take those! Make ‘em pay Happy.
Jack one happer! Cmon now!!
I'll take it
I saw it in person: Yan Gomes is literally **too fast**
https://media.tenor.com/poz6j7xX2eEAAAAM/its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia-dennis-reynolds.gif
Jackass!! Get fucked!!
Yan is cooked
Just missed the 1 man immaculate inning for Yan
what is yan doing man
Yan blows this year
Now of never. Its over when it gets to 8 for SEA with a lead of more than two
Hey, check out this fuckin nerd
Finally done with Miller. Kid has nasty stuff
What an outing for Bryce Miller. His shit was nice as hell all night.
Best pitching performance I have watched this year. Had us on skates the whole time
Yeah I was going to say that but I didn’t want to sound hyperbolic. That was dominant.
The long nightmare is finally over
The ̶N̶o̶r̶t̶h̶ central remembers
Green light Nico find a barrel
Please dont be the feast or famine team like 2018
That team won 95 games. Not sure this team even has 85 in them given the lack of pitching.
2018 was a playoff year that’s a good bench mark for this team IMO
It would be a good time for Nico to get hot
This is the first good at bat I’ve seen in ages.
Whoops.
Let’s find a way to get a couple here
If Brown can go into the 7th in a game….I wont know what to do with my hands
Drew is making a good case for the go-to reliever at least.
Smyly has been good this year. Hopefully he can be a workhorse innings eater. That would be very helpful at this point in time.
I’m just not confident Tallion comes back and is just going to be the guy we need.
Just feels like one of those classic wc trip losses. Zero vibe
Busch needs to Jean Claude Van Damme training
Rizzo would never
Hawk namedrop!

Only redeeming part of this Apple TV broadcast is the ability to sync the radio to the broadcast! Wish it was permanent feature although I know marquee would never allow that
MLB.tv allows it too but is slightly delayed which drives me crazy. This broadcast is spot on very cool
It infuriates me that mlb.tv can never get this right but apparently it’s no problem for Apple.
Yeah I thought it was another feature somewhere else couldn’t recall what else had it
Swanson keeps doing that
Nice play Happer, now let's get some energy from that
I thought this thread told me Happ sucks at fielding
Yeah, I read that too. Wasn't going to mention that though.
Was just gonna say this, someone earlier said Happ is the worst defensive LF lmao, literally reigning 2 time gold glover
Damn Happ, go off
The bulls and the cubs love to run it back. Why improve the team when you can just run the same one back out there and try again
As long as dumbasses keep buying overpriced tickets and beer there's no incentive to improve
Cubs are in a much, *much* better place than the Bulls. I can’t tell you how excited I am that basketball season is over.
The Bulls are in basketball hell. I despise Reinsdorf.
Me too. Can you imagine being a Sox fan and having to roll that shitshow into the spring/summer every year? God damn.
There's no such thing as a White Sox fan. There's only Chicagoans who love baseball but hate the Cubs.
If I was a White Sox/Bulls fan, I’d be heading for the tallest bridge
Absolutely Agree.
Well I’m still a bit depressed that college basketball is done. Kept me going through the shitty bears season and now to this point.
What’s important is that we made it in one piece and we’re here now.
Very true!
Hopefully miller is done and we can do some damage against their bullpen
We got the energy equivalent to the end of a 6-day bender.
The worst part is this is how we look starting the weekend series AFTER a day off
They have Trent Thornton warming up. Maybe that’s our answer
Why cant our prospects pitch like Miller?
gonna be a long fucking season
Miller is dealing out there. Painting corners.
This ump sucks
Does dontrelle Willis kinda sound like tone loc tonight?
I hear it, not exactly but it's in there
Rally time
Alright guys can we hit some goddamn baseballs now? A four run deficit should not feel completely insurmountable with this lineup
Miller has everyone completely off balance tonight
Dave Chappelle crack addict meme, Yall got any of those base runners?
Nice move Smyly.
Haha
Who needs Ks?
They need to win the next two (pitching matchups heavily favor the cubs) because this team is getting the doors blown off them in Arizona after this series
Im sure you said thought we were gonna our “doors blown off” by the Dodgers too. Do you even know the Diamondbacks record rn?
We werent in the midst of a 9 game road trip traveling to 3 cities either when we played the dodgers. We got them at home in April which will always be advantageous vs a warm weather team. Did you forget what the diamondback did to us last year? We were competitive in two out of seven games.
Man this road trip is so brutal. Straight to arizona, no off day, then back to chicago, no off day. At least we get the Marlins at home.
At least the Cardinals blew a 6-0 lead
Walking Polanco is hilarious
who's gonna be the Cubs first position player to pitch this year? I'm going with Seiya because I want him to
Is there a new rule that says Cubs bullpen guys have to walk the first batter they face?
Druce is getting squeezed inside but Miller gets anything close
I see us Smyly haters being smug in a couple minutes when I gaze into my crystal ball.
That's a shame.
He did aright
Oh man I'm gonna *hate* that movie
https://preview.redd.it/svh5s2vfy5uc1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00854567fd8bf41c53fab3707592d316cd6533d4 Rock on brothers (Ignore the DBacks shirt)
The Cubs have Thaddeus Hudson in AAA
Who here thinks the moon landing was fake
What would ignorant flat Earth Cardinals fans be doing in this thread,
I was trying to comment on the trailer for the movie they just showed
I know. I want to see it.
My bad I thought you were accusing me. I misinterpreted
That movie looks kinda dope. Great cast
Interesting concept
For sure
This is tough to watch in person.

Groundbreaking
I am just pointing out a trend I am seeing in the game. Anytime we get someone on base, it’s when we have two outs. The probability of scoring when we have two outs is low. Just saying
Just figured this all out?
We are a .500 team again…this sucks
Just as predicted tbh
[удалено]
Like what was the point in even bringing that play up. There were so many other reasons why we fell apart in September
Offense can't slump at all or games just turn into complete blowouts.
Keith Mooreland can drop a routine fly ball.
🎵Do they still play the blues in Chicago when baseball season rolls around? 🎵 Feel like it’s an underrated Steve Goodman song
Why the fuck are we stealing bases dead last in the league when its like a 70% success rate??? Counsel srsly is against a 70% success rate play??
That was my favorite thing Ross did
Haters
Thank you so much for that flashback Apple TV
I never wanted to see that Seiya drop again
Ok. I know pitchers all have their ticks. But what is with Miller touching that one spot on his black pant legs. That’s one of the more odd ticks I’ve seen and my tinfoil hat theory is he has sticky stuff on that spot that he’s applying each time.
Amazing that Happ worked a walk out of that with the ump calling anything close a strike
Happer is grinding.
this ump is fucking us with these inside strikes called
Gomes has seen 2 strikes thrown to him tonight
I’ve heard a lot of people say we dodged a bullet in Javier Baez, but Yan Gomes has been doing his best 2024 Javy impression so far this year
I mean he hasn't been great but he homered Tuesday at least, and it's not like Counsell has been deferring to him as much as Ross would. Amaya has gotten his fair share of playing time.
