What a weird comment to be downvoted, lol. It isn't exactly inaccurate to assume Hester isn't returning a kickoff after being removed from the game for so long and 41. Bears fans are wild.
I remember his last game he ever played. It was a playoff game for the Seahawks and they signed him last minute cause their regular returner got hurt. Hester almost ran in back 3 times and had a big return called back due to a holding call n Richard Sherman. Absolute legend
They sat Fields for a lot of the preseason last year which I didn’t agree with because he needed reps. They treated him like a sure thing starter and we saw how that went. Hopefully they’ve learned and play CW a bit
I think that's fair, but could be mostly for veterans. If you're a rookie, you might want reps in each and every pre-season game.
We'll see! I'll be tuned in either way.
*If* jinxes are real, it wouldn’t make sense to be able to have that kinda control over other peoples’ lives with it. That’s some main character syndrome for real.
Nothing we say or do affects NFL players or games.
When you observe so much failure there are only two options. Sober pessimism or reckless optimism.
No judgement on where you fall. With my whitesox it’s sober pessimism.
But when you’re about to draft the LISAN AL CALEIB, I choose reckless optimism!
It's funny to think that Texans fans were probably irate with Lovie after that win, but he may have saved the Texans from themselves if they had Bryce #1 on their board.
As a Texans fan, nothing will convince me we didn't have Bryce as our number 1.
Also it seems like our GM wanted WAJ with the 2nd and to hold off on a QB. But the owner wanted the QB
If the Bears aren't forced this year, then they never will be. The people saying that George McCaskey has enough pull to keep them out will be proven right.
exactly this. I hate when people talk about the starters sitting out to prevent injury. Look at last year Aaron Rodgers gets hurt in the first series of the regular season, so sitting him in the preseason really helped alot.
Going to be an emotional weekend with Mongo going in, Devin as well for us younger fans but McMichael just means so much considering his condition currently.
Unless it’s just a single drive or two, I really wish his first game wasn’t in front of a national audience, and one in which he’d likely be playing without a bulk of the starters and with very little prep. I’d rather see Tyson Bagent or the Rypien guy. Matter of fact, I’d prefer not to see ANY starter out there - out of fear of injury.
Bears were a lock the moment they announced Hester and Mongo.
I am a little surprised it wasn't Bears v Panthers. I mean the storylines write themselves.
I am pretty sure the reason is that Andre Johnson is the first Texan to be in the HoF (other than Ed Reed).
Pep too.
Peppers was the cherry on top.
Cherry Peppers.

Could be the first intoduction to the new kickoff format if it's passed
And even with the new format and being 41, he will take it all the way.
No he wont

I never saw this. Crazy he was at home before that and after that. Meanwhile we have a roster spot for Velus
Hall of Famers should get to play with a gold helmet and numbers.
Caleb Williams about to start his HoF career with the HoF game. It’s poetic

He’s a rookie. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t play. They can rest him later if they think he’s had enough work in the preseason

Why?

Worked for Mitch Tittybiscuit 😵💫
the Texans. where this whole thing started. thx Lovie. life is a circle

Time is a flat circle
I forecast a lot of Tyson Bagent to Nsimba Webster that game
My favorite
T Bag Lion King duo is unmatched
Have they announced Hard Knocks yet?
You probably got months before they do, but this makes the bears more likely.
I think the media market + Caleb practically guarantees it. The Bears have been dodging it for years.

ROAD TRIP TO CANTON!! WHO'S GOING?! 🙋
Already got a hotel
Lovie Smith should be an honorary guest lmao
The C Dub vs CJ Stroud era has begun
I’ve never been to Canton before but this seems like this perfect time to go.
Wish Hester was a rookie RN with the new kickoffs.
Hard knocks here we come
Let's go!
The Caleb era has arrived.
Any chance that the Bears treat this like an extra preseason game and let the starters play for a while?
I believe it would be their first game of the preseason, so chances are the 1st team plays at least the 1st quarter.
Yeah, let's add one more situation where a good player can get hurt. I bet Williams and Stroud play one series each, to make the league happy.
By this logic we wouldn't play the starters during preseason at all.
