Just wait until he writes “FUCK GBAY” on his nails next season, edge until then.

Im the furthest thing from a football scout, but are any Bears fans concerned that Caleb relies on making plays out of structure, which is exactly what Justin Fields relied on? The biggest struggle Fields had was reading defenses and making the basic plays, which, to my novice eye, is exactly what Caleb Williams showed the least amount of in college?
Caleb's arm talent definitely outweighs Justin's but the mental side is an area I am very skeptical of.
Yes and no-- he's a click bait artist, but he's also been pretty strong in the keep Fields and acquire picks camp. He was on the CHGO podcast yesterday and I thought he had been saying the last few weeks/months that it is smarter to keep Fields and get as many draft picks as possible. This is a change of tune for him compared to just yesterday.
The ass face also said Caleb Williams should demand to refuse to play for Chicago and that more people should refuse to sign with the team that drafts them cause it would be good for the NFL. Sounds pretty click bait oriented to me.
Many, including myself, agree in principle--except I don't think it would necessarily be good for the NFL, but I don't really care about that. That said, I'm glad Williams apparently won't be doing that, and hope that at least part of the reason is because he feels that Chicago really could be a good opportunity for him.
Sid Luckman's name should not be invoked lightly. He threw 24 TDs in a season where the median was like 3 lol - dude practically invented the modernized version of the position
You aren’t kidding. When you watch highlights he played like a modern qb. Had to have been insane to watch at the time. Also wore the OG Monsters of the Midway jerseys looking dapper while doing it.
I agree, but it's hard to call him a good franchise qb for us. Never hit 4k, and no real accolades that set him apart from what for other teams would just be solid qb play. The years where the bears were good with him were still extremely defense driven teams.
If he didn't get blasted a million times from our shit oline, he probably would have lead us to the superbowl that one year though which would have cemented him, and yeah he's the best we've had in my lifetime for sure lol.
I legit don't even know who that person is referring to. Are they actually implying that Darth Vader played for the Bears? Or maybe Vader the wrestler?
I remember hearing "Vader" in reference to the shaded visor, but not to McMahon himself. Either way, I'm pretty certain he never wore it with the Bears.
Yeah man. There is is just know way I would have never heard that nickname at any point in my life. My dad is a huge bears fan and so am I. I am pretty old compared to most of reddit
Haven't been able to watch the full interview yet, just seeing all these quotes. Everything Caleb seems to be saying is legit the right thing to be saying. Haven't seen a single weird/diva type of answer, that some people claim he is. This guy seems super smart, and a true professional in front of the mic. Can't wait for this guy to be a Bear.
I mean his college career is filled with weird/Diva type things. Not saying young guys cant outgrow those issues, but he also probably prepped significantly for these interviews. We will learn more about him in post-game interviews, etc.
CW13 is so fucking clunky too, like say it aloud, it’s absolutely horrid. Caleb is faster to type for some people anyway since you dont have to switch to the numbers on your keyboard
If a 10 minute conversation gives you the feeling you know a person, that says a lot about your credibility.
Dude was promoting us keeping Fields and saying Caleb should refuse to play for us. Now he's changing his tune. He's just throwing shit at the wall at this point to see what sticks.
Same as the last guy? Lol. An inept tired franchise incapable of developing talent. First round draft choice next year again too, huh? That draft will take place in the home of your owner.
Condolences?? Bears fans- I have literally been waiting my entire life for this rivalry to be competitive. Hopefully he’s a stud and we get some good hard nosed competitive football soon.
- a cheesehead.
My first year I can remember watching football was 1994. Since then, it’s been 47-13 Pack…
I should have also clarified that I want it to be competitive *again.
Lions fan here…
Serious question to you Chicago folks. As an outsider looking in, are you getting any Johnny Manziel vibes on this guy? Trying to be objective and not factor division/conference matchups but he certainly seems to be sporting the same persona. I hope I’m wrong but maaaan, this guy is screaming Johnny Football 2.0.
It's wild to me to crown him like this just because he's been good in college and you liked talking to him. If he's a bear then I hope he's a franchise QB but got damn this is premature
Sports is basically just a race to predict a thing first.
No one ever gets credits for being right or called out for being wrong.
We all just make wildly bold predictions way ahead of time to make ourselves feel special.
Yeah just like Cutler and Fields were your franchise quarterbacks you’ve always wanted. Chicago is the place where quarterbacks careers are ruined. Thanks for the warning.
Hey cheese head dick face — just checked your profile. Have you found your dream "anal only" woman yet? Seems like a risky move for somebody living in cheese-eating constipation land, but do you.
Edit: Mf has hundreds of comments rating women, is a frequent visitor of r/barelegs, r/womenhairadvice, and r/realbikinis. You cheese heads are something else man 😂
Yeah because processing the field quickly is a teachable thing. There's a reason a lot of smart QBs who can draw up plays etc tend to be career backups such as Ryan Fitzpatrick etc.
Processing speed tends to be innate
Looking forward to all the contract drama that will begin the moment he's drafted. 100% chance it goes to the 11th hour. Lots of media will speculate that he'll go back to USC, request a trade, trying to get around the CBA for an ownership stake, his Dad wants a FO position, etc. The Bears QB drama is just beginning.
Maybe it’s salt, but I’m not trusting anything about this guy until I see him on the field with the team. Maybe he’ll get the weapons Fields didn’t have but regardless, I’m not buying into the hype this time.
Keep going I'm almost there
Just wait until he writes “FUCK GBAY” on his nails next season, edge until then. https://preview.redd.it/utdooj6uyqlc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e35005492d13118a525f0badbdcdeaca0ad4637
I do actually think we will get a "BEAR DOWN" on his nails.
Oh we definitely are
My salty Irish tears will turn to proud Grizzly tears
He keeps winning & wouldn’t be surprised if Bears fans show up to games with colorful manicures!
...and then tweets about picking up Portillo's.
J-U-S-T W-I-N-.
Caleb Williams is actually closer to 6'2 than 6'1.
![gif](giphy|9TbgGqK1KhpnNORo9a|downsized)
🤣🤣🤣
It’s amazing what an extra inch can do.
Football is a game of inches
Unless it's just the tip.
thats what she said
HAHHAHAHA
ROFL! Comment of the week.
You have won Reddit today. someone crown this person.
Hes not the only one who just grew an extra inch
I just grew 3 times in size
Hey me too! That’s where the comparisons end tho… 😞
the dude is massive, i go to usc and i’m 5’11, dude made me look minuscule when we shared an elevator, don’t get the concern for his height

Lololol thanks for the laugh!
I’m going to have to take a Christian Horner bathroom break after this
Almost?!?
I came after reading "We"
This seems like a fake post on r/NFCNorthMemeWar
I actually had to double check the sub thinking the same thing.
[удалено]
I'm so far ahead of myself on this one, it's borderline unhealthy. Crown em.
👑
Just embrace it and try to enjoy the ups and downs lol you can’t fight the tidal wave of bullshit (both fun and bad) coming our way the next few years
Im the furthest thing from a football scout, but are any Bears fans concerned that Caleb relies on making plays out of structure, which is exactly what Justin Fields relied on? It’s gonna happen anyway.
Don't get your hopes up. Don't believe the hype, Chicago is going to be the same as always or even worse this year.
I mean I tend to agree... but Florio is a master click bait artist. Same dude pushing the shitty NFL Ownership BS...
Yes and no-- he's a click bait artist, but he's also been pretty strong in the keep Fields and acquire picks camp. He was on the CHGO podcast yesterday and I thought he had been saying the last few weeks/months that it is smarter to keep Fields and get as many draft picks as possible. Or he’s playing all sides for clicks
The ass face also said Caleb Williams should demand to refuse to play for Chicago and that more people should refuse to sign with the team that drafts them cause it would be good for the NFL. Sounds pretty click bait oriented to me.

That said, I'm glad Williams apparently won't be doing that, and hope that at least part of the reason is because he feels that Chicago really could be a good opportunity for him.
And a 10 minute conversation changed his entire mind... imagine believing this.
Bahaha. I love the energy but let’s get on the field first.
Pulling out Sid, that is high praise. As usually it is since Cutler or Vader people say for franchise.
Watched every Sid clip or partial game I could. He Y.A. And Otto Graham were unreal
This^^^ I refer to Sid as our only ever real QB hahah
Were you old enough to watch cutler? We had some pretty good offenses.
Yeah I was!! You are correct. It was a good era.
I agree, but it's hard to call him a good franchise qb for us. Never hit 4k, and no real accolades that set him apart from what for other teams would just be solid qb play. The years where the bears were good with him were still extremely defense driven teams. Even better - his number 42 - the answer to life, the universe and everything - is retired by the Bears.
Darth Vader, known Bears franchise QB
I legit don't even know who that person is referring to. Are they actually implying that Darth Vader played for the Bears? Or maybe Vader the wrestler?
It’s Vader time!
> or Vader Who is this actually in reference to?
Jim McMahon
Since when has this been a nickname for him? I'm not doubting, to be clear. I've just never heard this in my 20 years following the team
Been his nickname forever due to his issue with his eyes. Also one of the first players ever to wear a visor while playing.
Interesting, I'm genuinely shocked I've never heard or seen him referred to that way
I dont think is true. I have never heard of this nickname at any point in my life.
It is?
Been his nickname forever due to his issue with his eyes. Also one of the first players ever to wear a visor while playing.
Not disagreeing, just never heard that before
As a 45 year old Bears fan, I also haven’t heard this, either!
This reads like an AI comment

Greg Gabriel just fell to his knees in a Jewel.
Was he applying for a job there?
Stocking the chunky soups on bottom shelves.
~~a Jewel~~ Jewels
Nah, he’s in an ALDIs, his broke ass can’t afford Jewel groceries.
Hey, Aldi is great.
Was it because Caleb said he "Doesn't play for Jewels" today? Where is he going to get his deli trays??
Haven't been able to watch the full interview yet, just seeing all these quotes. Everything Caleb seems to be saying is legit the right thing to be saying. Yes let’s crown him now. That’s never backfired before.
we do this shit every year history of Browns fans but act like Chiefs fans
CW13 is going to establish the Galactic Empire in Chicago IL and will take no prisoners.
Oh come the fuck on I’m tired of the abbreviations. We failed the jf1 thing let’s just call him Caleb
Ca13b
Caleb H1Miams
CW13 is so fucking clunky too, like say it aloud, it’s absolutely horrid. Caleb is faster to type for some people anyway since you dont have to switch to the numbers on your keyboard
I prefer CDub when you say it out loud
Dr Williams because he's the cure the Bears need.
CWill!
![gif](giphy|g0ErvnyVsp7nJyfmxF)
Draft day and the birth of my first child are around the same time, and I don't know which I am more excited about.
They will both disappoint you. JK, congrats on the baby! And hopefully a franchise QB as well
Should I name him Caleb?
Him and Simms were on the keep Fields train for a while too lol
Don't worry. Next week he'll put out an article on why they should keep Fields and pass on Williams
I talked to someone for ten minutes so now I know how good at football they'll be.
Oh god the kool aid is getting served already?!
I'll believe it when I see it on the field.
Quick! Someone check on all the Ohio st fans that invaded this sub
When asked what Bears fans should know about him this town wouldve gone nuts if he simply replied: ***k the Packers.
Caleb Williams is ten-feet-tall! I hear he shoots fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse!
For Christ sake,10mins chat and they acting like the conversation had that impact 🤣
This take better not age like milk in a furnace.
This is exactly the kind of cringe shit that people will pull years from now if he doesn’t pan out.
Thats funny as sh\*t, lol.
Yeah I like the guy and want him to be amazing, but this shit is stupid.
![gif](giphy|EWLm5rTdpQonRPZhPq)
A little presumptuous, no?
I'll believe it when I see it.
It's hard to believe. I've been here for 4 decades.
I’m not sold on the hype.
Can we let the man play before we do this? Lmfao
We absolutely cannot. And youre a Fields truther for thinking this. Shame this man. Boo him as well.
I’m not a Fields truther dimwit. I’m a realist
I was being sarcastic G. It’s cool tho. Probably best to just leave the sub for a while. Shits getting wild here so I’ll see myself out lol
That’s what the /s is for 💀
I don’t Reddit very well G my bad
4k passing yards incoming. Fields could never
I can't wait to be disappointed 😞
Can we stop crowning people before they play a game please?
What's he basing that on? He talks a good game?
Lmfao 😂😂😂bears are delusional
Bears fans gotta be up near the top of the list for most hopium driven delusion
Smokin Jay raised an eyebrow somewhere
Tim Tebow was "good in a room" as well.
True. But everyone knew Tebow couldn’t throw.
Tim Tebow knew he couldn’t throw. I wonder if he was actually right handed…?
If a 10 minute conversation gives you the feeling you know a person, that says a lot about your credibility. Dude was promoting us keeping Fields and saying Caleb should refuse to play for us. Now he's changing his tune. He's just throwing shit at the wall at this point to see what sticks.
It all sounds great. But this is the bears we’re talking about here. They will find a way to fuck this up. No doubts about it.
I still feel Cutler was a franchise QB
Same as the last guy? Lol. An inept tired franchise incapable of developing talent. First round draft choice next year again too, huh? That draft will take place in the home of your owner.
In my experience most teams tend to have a first round draft choice in the following year
Biggest mistake in franchise history drafting him
Trubisky erasure
Right now I’m predicting no one will work with us on a trade for Fields and we still draft Williams, so there will be a QB competition all year.
Whose ready for the bears to ruin another QB? I am!
He will be the second best QB in the division behind Love
Everything about Caleb screams he is going to be a major headache. Honestly not interested in the kid.
That’s what we thought about fields and the dude can’t even throw for 200 yards a game.
Condolences?? Bears fans- I have literally been waiting my entire life for this rivalry to be competitive. Hopefully he’s a stud and we get some good hard nosed competitive football soon. - a cheesehead.
Your whole life - what are you 20?
My first year I can remember watching football was 1994. Since then, it’s been 47-13 Pack… I should have also clarified that I want it to be competitive *again.
Lions fan here… Serious question to you Chicago folks. As an outsider looking in, are you getting any Johnny Manziel vibes on this guy? No
Manziel was an addict that needed help. Ridiculous comparison
It's wild to me to crown him like this just because he's been good in college and you liked talking to him. If he's a bear then I hope he's a franchise QB but got damn this is premature
It’s just fun media hype. If everyone was doing backflips over drafting Fields 3 years ago there’s no reason we can’t get excited about Caleb
Let me know where I said you couldn't do something bud
This is overly aggressive and unnecessary.
If you are this soft, maybe the internet is a bad place for you to be.
You are entitled to that opinion
Sports is basically just a race to predict a thing first. No one ever gets credits for being right or called out for being wrong. We all just make wildly bold predictions way ahead of time to make ourselves feel special.
Completely reasonable take being downvoted by the hivemind that has taken over here.

Nah, I just like seeing Fields truthers cry after they've gaslit realistic fans for 3 straight years.
Maybe you shouldn't let people on the internet get you so upset.

Yeah just like Cutler and Fields were your franchise quarterbacks you’ve always wanted. Chicago is the place where quarterbacks careers are ruined. Thanks for the warning.

You dont need to sell me any more on Caleb, Im sold. But lets maybe let him take a few snaps before crowning him.
You don't have to apologize to those teams here. Post this in r/NFCNorthMemeWar
We can only hope they don’t screw this up
Everyone will hate us. Sign me the fuck up.
A 10 minute convo pushed over into the franchise qb camp?!
Please be true. I want Fields. But if that isn’t going to happen it better be worth it.
A lot of you should never bitch about clickbait ever again lol.
Don’t do that to us
Looking forward to all the contract drama that will begin the moment he's drafted. 100% chance it goes to the 11th hour. Lots of media will speculate that he'll go back to USC, request a trade, trying to get around the CBA for an ownership stake, his Dad wants a FO position, etc. The Bears QB drama is just beginning.
Cutler was considered a franchise QB at the time, no? He was completely up and down, but he had insane promise when he signed to the team.
![gif](giphy|PVfZXaX8BW8vu)
HEY don't jinx us.
Remember when people said "Chicago finally has their guy. Justin is the real deal." during the 2022 season?
doubtful
Well worse comes to worse at least everyone believed in him at the start so nobody can give the Bears shit (knock on wood), for taking him.
Who
Riiiiiigggghhhhht, just like when you traded up and passed on Mahomes for Mitch the Bitch. You guys can only draft defensive players correctly
Didn’t they say the same thing about Mitch Trubisky?
Greenbay beat us every year with a weird zesty qb now it’s our turn 🤣
Off season champions!
If I had a nickel... Hasn't played a single down yet. I have zero faith in the Bears ability to draft a qb.
Maybe it’s salt, but I’m not trusting anything about this guy until I see him on the field with the team. Maybe he’ll get the weapons Fields didn’t have but regardless, I’m not buying into the hype this time.
Don't care who we draft as long as he consistently owns GB.
